@ It's really easy to be immersed in your work (or not have access to food during work or school) and not have access to food until later. I'm relatively thin (about 21% BMI) and relate to the main comment: "I didn't realize I was fasting for 3 college years."
I've been out of college for at least 4 years.

@ IDK, maybe. I usually don't have the time to eat and am just straight out lazy that if someone doesn't bring me food, I won't go to get it myself unless I'm really hungry😅

D N : Depression can also be an imbalance in the brain. Diet helps to balance this. Good food - no processed. Lots of fruit when u can’t be bothered to eat.
I used to suffer from depression. I think i still do but I know when it’s coming so I do things to stop it. Like listen to uplifting music, dancing with my headphones on 🎧. Laughing 😆 Watching funny shows to force me to laugh.
Also get as much daylight as u can. It’s nice and cozy to sit in the dark, but light helps to uplift brain 🧠
Easier said than done. Depression ain’t easy. It’s like sitting at the bottom of a dark well and ur trying to claw yourself out.

I’m pretty experienced with fasting... when I first started, 12 years ago, I found a really good technique to curb hunger in the first day or so is to heat up a cup of water but approach it like a bowl of soup and actually ingest the hot water from a bowl with a spoon. Nice and slow. It’s a mind trick.

I have cleared up many health issues, my mental clarity is the best it’s ever been, my hair skin and nails have done a total turn around. My demeanor is doctor and more patient. I used to have so much masculine energy and be so argumentative, but since fasting my hormones are so level. My stamina is higher, I can breathe deeper, my intuition is higher, my patience is GREAT! Just thought I'd throw this in, people fast for religious purposes that is to show gratitude for the food we have and for the less fortunate... like you've said our society has developed an unhealthy relationship with food. My grandparents and dad would have 3 meals a day and worked vigorously on their farm etc, and our ancestors would be working their butts off to provide food. i mean, it's not impossible, we just need to build resistance and be more intuitive.

    • @APM-ky8vr
      @APM-ky8vr 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes, religious fasting has been done for centuries. Muslims still practice dry fasting between dawn and sunset in the month Ramadan. And like Anna Bey said in the video there are many health benefits. Benefits that were known for more than 1400+ years for Muslims (and Jews). I’m glad finally the western world has been keeping up and made fasting more “trendy”.

IF has changed my life! 80 pounds gone. 6 dress sizes lost. I did it all eating what I wanted in moderation and without a gym membership. It helps me to maintain a healthy, fit figure and I've developed a great relationship with food. I eat all of my calories everyday in a 4 - 6 hour window. I eat 2 - 3 times per day and I choose to skip "dinner". It's easier for me and I need my calories during the daytime as I wake up early, I workout in the morning and I powerwalk at lunch time. I just relax and read in the evenings and I go to bed early. Also I dry fast most days of the week for at least 14 hours, but I listen to my body. I love this way of eating!

I, too, did daily fasting. But, over this weekend, I was admitted to the ER for low ferratin (3.0) and low hemoglobin (7.0), for which blood transfusions and IV iron were required. Fasting worked for me for years, but I did not know that, little by little--and despite daily vitamin supplements--my levels were steadily dropping. And, I had no prior conditions, was in good health, etc. So, I encourage those who try fasting out to get bloodwork done every 3 months, a CBC and BMP, just to stay on top of any deficiencies.

The best way to lose weight to have a stress free lifestyle ( when you well cared for, do what you enjoy doing and clean environment- clean water, air/ climate) and make sure you eat high quality protein (clean, organic). I know for myself whenever I go to the countryside even if I eat good amount of food I lose weight. The main catalyst for me to lose weight is to feel calm, loved and accepted.

I didn’t know that what I used to do to keep in shape when I was younger was was healthy; I used to feel so guilty about skipping dinner to stay in shape. Little did I know it was the mere thing that was keeping me in shape. Since I saw this video, I have done a lot of research on the subject and I know I will never go back to overeating again. Thanks for the video!!! It has changed my life! 💕

Great video! I studied holistic nutrition and would like to add that it is also important to mention that when doing fasting, it is crucial to have great quality animal as well as plant based foods in order to avoid nutritional deficiencies. For instance, within the time you are eating, you should make sure you have some high quality carb like sourdough bread/potatoes, soups like bone broth for abundance of minerals and collagen, great source of animal protein like beaf/turkey meats/eggs/fermented cheese and milks like kefir and organic vegetables too. I saw many people having big health issues when fasting when they went vegan or had not balanced diets, so it is really crucial to focus on quality foods to provide high density nutrition. Sending hugs 🤗

Here’s the thing though, (coming from someone with a bachelors in nutrition science), your body needs to run on something. Even if you have full fat as your first meal, your body needs energy to fuel your muscles, including your brain. What really SHOULD be “optional” (if anything) is dinner, because the longer the body has to rest and regenerate cells, the healthier and more immune your body will be.

Wait! No dairy is the culprit. Eat fake butter and fake creamer.
No. Eggs are good. We think sodium is the problem. Do sea salt only.
Oh crap! Sea salt doesn't give you enough iodine and now people are experiencing all kinds of hormonal/ thyroid issues.
Too much meat will kill you! WHOLE GRAINS are the key to good health.

We are all made racially and genetically different. we have to take those factors into account even though our doctors say we are fine. My doctor kept saying this. as well many things can hold you back on a weight loss journey you have to literally try everything. Kinda like when you go to buy shoes some shoes seem like they will fit. Until you stand in them for 8 hours or just standing in them 10 minutes. We are all different your body will tell you. Cannot wait time try this method. Bless you x

I would like to see what you eat exactly in the 6 hour window. Please make a video on it.

I’ve been doing intermittent fasting for 16 months! The eating windows change. Sometimes it’s OMAD if I’m working, sometimes it 20:4. Like you, I love the flexibility of it! Currently I’m eating a regular 3 times a day, but I’m doing an egg fast and don’t want to eat 14 eggs all at once! Thanks for your vids! Love em.

I've lost 40 lbs ' accidentally' fasting, both 1-2 days fast, plus intermittent,(* health problems,) down to a size four, 128 lbs, 5 ' 6 1/2" tall,- I look amazing at 50 yrs of age! The health benefits-- I am healed of many problems and I look 20 yrs younger! So, yes- it works and even cures my life long kidney problems!

I expected you to give a generic eat clean and exercise speech, I’m so glad you mentioned intermittent fasting. I lost 70lbs with keto and intermittent fasting because my doctor recommended it. I’d tried so, so many other diet this is the only combination that really worked and didn’t make me feel bad.

Great Anna! Thank you for sharing this!
I am from Romania, and we use this method of fasting especially in spring for religious reason, but I can say that always works great for my entire health, not only for my body, but also for my emotional health - I am getting stronger!
I appreciate your videos. Well done!

Certain fasting also starts “Autophagy” which is basically cells recycling the garbage cells. This is said to be anti aging
I’ve done a watermelon fast for 3 days and I never felt so great in my life! Giving your digestive system a rest so your body can use that energy to clean is one benefit to fasting.

Number 1 for me was getting a dog 🐕 and walking 10 km every day or at least 3 days a week. Plus no breakfast and no bread in general and also no food after 8 p.m. ;) just my 2 cents 😊
Thank you Anna for your positive energy and sense of style and intelligent approach to life !!! ❤

I just finished a 28 day fast mostly green veggie juices, and a couple days only water. I lost 28 pounds but ALSO corrected some health problems that I got from the last three years of the terrible stress I endured. More energy, clearer thinking, lighter feeling and joy. Needless to say got back into my clothes.
