As a woman in her 50’s, I can absolutely attest to the fact that everyone makes mistakes in their early lives. That is what our late teens and 20’s are for, to learn from our silly mistakes. Don’t let bad choices from your 20’s, or 30’s for that matter, define who you are in the present moment. Every day is a fresh start, another opportunity to be the best version of yourself. Glad you shared this Anna.

My aunt tells me the same thing. She had my cousin at 16 years old, dropped out of school, ran away from home, got very badly hurt by a crowd she thought of as “friends,” ran away once more, found some strange man in Morocco, had a shotgun-wedding, and nearly burned every bridge between her and her family - all before her 30th birthday.
      Now, she’s 66 years old.
She’s spent 15 years making amends with her family and last year she earned her doctorate while her daughter earned her master’s degree. She grew up in a chicken coop (I mean *chicken coop* literally) but just bought her own dream home and is happy as ever. She gets to teach what she loves and watch her daughter succeed after a lifetime of mistakes plus the damage-control.
She tell me it is NEVER too late. To do ANYTHING. It’s not too late to make changes to your life (whether good ones or bad ones). It’s only too late when life’s over, take advantage of *now.*

Yep. Ever since that tough as nails streetwalker escaped from my basement, despite her being manacled to the radiator, I've found it much wiser and fruitful to instead swipe both high school girls who are walking to school in the morning, and freshman coeds who are on their way home after dark. This not only reduces the chances of the girl being the sort who's adept at getting her way out of such circumstances, but the flesh is inevitably much softer and smoother against the blade of my machete

Am i the only one who doesn't see this past as a "dark past"? I mean she was just someone young, who navigated life with what she knew from it. The moment she realized (learned more) what she could achieve with her potential, she started making the necessary changes and it (naturally) impacted her level of living. That's it! I just see a normal girl learning to live better.

The sad thing is a lot of men and people general will still judge you for the things you did in your past even if that’s not even you anymore. For some reason, women are supposed to forgive and ignore a man’s bad past but if a young woman has done some less than ideal things, we get harshly criticized and labeled automatically and not forgiven. People can be very evil in this way, especially if they know they can figure out a way to use it against you and make themselves look better than you. Speaking from personal experience.

When I was young I used to be invited to a “late-night” talk show and I talked a lot of “dirty jokes” I was too young to think of the consequences if being seen by family or other decent friends. I also used to shoot a supplement commercial for boobs and it had still been on tv until I started a decent work in office. Being made fun by whole male colleagues with their evil eyes. We all have past, we can take it as a life lesson, for ourselves and also for other young people. But it’s still very mean if people bring it up all the time. They are not noble just because they didn’t have such past. They are just low class to try every possibility to hurt people.

I have always admired people who were the victims of gossip or shame and stayed in whatever job/church/town. At some point, people get tired of talking or joking about it. I know some men never seem to tire of telling the same jokes over and over for years, so it seems like it will never end, but everyone else gets tired of it. I've seen it happen with women at work and church, and even when I knew the gossip was true and they truly did something wrong (or even illegal), I admired them for continuing to show their face and keep their heads held high when I feel like dissolving into a puddle over minor embarrassments. Eventually it's no longer entertaining to others and we all move on. I hope people have stopped bringing it up for you. We all deserve to be able to move on.

Anna you’re such a legend and inspiration. In this day and age this level of transparency and honesty feels so rare. In my opinion there’s no room for shame, guilt or bitterness and your attitude towards these past experiences is a symbol of elegance. So happy for you, myself and all other women that had the strength to overcome these things. If you’re reading this and you still feel burdened by these things it’s possible to let go, you just need to work on it actively. Give yourself the credit you deserve, whatever you’ve been through you’re here today now and that’s all that matters - tomorrow can be whatever you want to make of it. I’m 25 and have my fair share of trauma and troubles, but I’ve worked very hard the last years to be better and I’m now working with a-list celebs and in the process of buying my first house. The juxtaposition between her life then and her life now is intensely motivating and gives me hope in leveling up. Way to go, Anna. Never stop teaching elegance and giving your opinion on how a man should treat a woman.

When I was around 16-17 I went to New Years Eve with my best friend to her boyfriend's. There was this guy quite interested in me and as we celebrated (and done some drinking 👀) we kissed. Then we we slept in same room, but we didn't sleep with each other or anything. But the next day everyone thought we did. I got bullied because of it for a year, then i stopped seeing anyone from that group, even my best friend. I was really ashamed of myself and felt terrible, but now I am over it. It made me realize lot of things and also made me stronger. Thank you Anna for this video. I hope it will help many young girls to not give up, no matter what they're going through. ❤️

How horrified would any of us be if our lives, as young people, were Recorded, and all of our disasters and mistakes were broadcast on TV for everyone to see? Anna, thank you for being you… And anyone who has anything negative to say, is likely jealous… People in glass houses should not throw stones, correct? You’re amazing! I’ve learned so much from you… Thank you for teaching people how to be elegant and how to better their situation by bettering themselves.

I must say, this is shocking seeing you in this light, but very necessary because when when people see who you were, it’s helps us to understand how much time and effort you’ve put in to become who you are. You’ve grown and matured so beautifully, which is exactly what’s supposed to happen. I’m sure most of us have been there, young and dumb, insecure and seeking validation. You putting out this video just makes me love you even more because it humanizes you. Your not just this perfect person who’s been this way all her life. All I can say is that I’m so proud of who you’ve become and I hope this teaches so many more women that leveling up is possible and very necessary for growth in all aspects of life. 💕

It can feel so empowering also to clear the air. In my youth, I made a mistake because I was young and impressionable. Though I matured and went on in life, it wasn’t until I decided to clean out any skeletons from my closet that I felt I truly regained my power. And of course I’m not on TH-cam so it was only a select few I talked to. OMG I just started watching, and I can relate! I was on The Bachelor in 2008 and did very well. I was on a short lived show on Bravo in 2015. Then I was on TLC for one episode of My Feet Are Killing Me in 2020.
I could crawl under the table just thinking about it. I'm 41 now and much more of an elegant lady. When I look at women now, living trashy and I say hey, let's all elevate, they look at me and throw my past in my face.
My last was my past. No one should be living now how they were fourteen years ago! Come on! Times have changed and so have I.
I'm glad you can relate to this....you understand what many people don't.

I LOVE seeing your trashy side! Lol. Just to know that you've been there and done that like the rest of us. It only makes me respect you more. Incredible to see how far you've come. As difficult as that time was for you it likely gave you the push you needed to move in the opposite direction... and clearly, you did it girl. Sadly, most of those people are just older versions of the same people they were when seen on the show... because most people don't want to do the actual work it takes to change. They also don't want to own their past behavior... a lot of people can't/ won't do that. (Esp if they are still the same)
Trashy is easy... but classy takes a lot of work. So... anyone out there with something to say, please... let's see where YOU'RE currently at on the trashy to classy journey. & if you're still somewhere in between... & you are... then shhh!! The only person you're making look bad... is yourself. See... truly classy people do not waste their time making trashy videos about others. They look ahead & not behind. Like Anna.

I think the biggest mistake that so many of us make, is letting loneliness affect our decisions about men. We don't just enjoy our singleness until we encounter someone suitable, and worthy, but grab the nearest loser because we don't want to be alone. And it's not their fault, they were just being themselves and we chose them. Yes we did.

In college I fell in love with a perfect guy, but I thought being 'cool' and 'fun' and 'popular' meant going clubbing, getting drunk and staying out late every night with the crowd (and I thought this would impress him!), but all he wanted was someone to get up early with to go running or to church or to visit historical places, which is what I really preferred as well. In trying to get validation from everyone I ended up losing out on the one person who really mattered and losing those experiences that I would have treasured instead of nights I can't remember and mornings sleeping in being sick.

    • @EmmeChatterton
      @EmmeChatterton 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

I have to add, that was the beginning of my own 'level up journey', I was so depressed I took a semester off school and got a job which was awful but once I recovered I resolved to stop getting drunk, I cut my hair and learned to do makeup online, I invested in a small but classy wardrobe that complimented me and made me look elegant rather than 'fun', and I pursued my own interests like photography and reading and spent more time with real friends instead of just going to random parties to feel included, and most importantly I outlined my dreams and goals and thought about how to get there rather than living in the moment trying to be sexy to impress strangers who didn't even care about me. I never met another guy so perfect, but when I went back to school it was night and day to how I was treated and the quality of people who I attracted as friends and partners.
