When you say trawler speed, how fast are you going exactly and how many miles per gallon do you see? How much fuel does this save vs getting up on plane? I thought the C-Dory's plane at 10 mph? Just curious since the C-Dory is not a displacement vessel.

We own a 2006 C-Dory 22 with the single Honda 90hp engine. It does plane at around 10 mph. Generally, get about 5-6 mpg at slower speeds, around 3 - 3.5 mpg planing. There are other variables, of course, like weight and sea conditions.

@@jimh.5286 Thanks for the info. An optimized flat planing hull with a total load between 2,800 and 3,800 lbs should be getting between 3.8 to 6.6 mpg on plane at 15 mph. I would expect some trade-off for sea-worthiness. I'm curious, what is the bottom width of the C-Dory 22 between chines?
