    I passed one at Phillip Island last week on my 690 Duke. He destroyed me on the straight but I had no problem going around his outside. Both of us are novices but the buzz was beyond epic regardless of the level we were at. I would love a turbo 1290. Hmmmmmmmm???!!!!

      yeah agreed TheSighBored. Also clip-ons, high spec forks and a bit less rake to get it to change direction a bit quicker. (Yes , the forks and adjustable triple-trees are an option but they shouldn't have to be !).

    • @jayvdz
      @jayvdz 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I test rode both recently, back-to-back, and have owned an RSV4 Factory APRC before, and I tell you, the KTM is a LOT more fun on the road. I'd say the KTM was worth the money.

    • @jamsxr
      @jamsxr 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jay Van der Zant well each to their own. I preferred the V4 but the KTM is still a great bike and arguably better depending on what you want.

      Too many people just don't appreciate torque. Especially under peak numbers. motorcycle.com.vsassets.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/2016-aprilia-tuono-v4-1100-factory-vs-ktm-1290-super-duke-r-hp-torque-dyno-547x389.jpg

    KTM sucks. I have friends who have these and they're ALWAYS in the shop. One of my buddies had a head gasket go on him after just 4000 miles.

    • @EyeForKnowledge.
      @EyeForKnowledge. 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Euro bikes are all trash. Insanely expensive to buy. About the same to have work done to them. And they don't last.

    • @aukanmeister
      @aukanmeister 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      So I guess my 100K km , home serviced, KTM 950 does not count... It can take SO much abuse you would not belive:) My videos from years back show you how I ride it.

    • @EyeForKnowledge.
      @EyeForKnowledge. 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      pål aukan I'm just speaking from personal experience with friends of mine who all jumped on the Euro bike band wagon. Four of them. And each one is in the shop more than they are on the road. Your experience is obviously different. But I suppose that's the way with anything.

    • @sinki19841984
      @sinki19841984 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      None of my KTM's have ever been to the shop. 52k km on the current one, 0 issues. If they where trash i wouldn't be on my 5th KTM. I do service them myself. Don't need low paygrade 'has to be fast' mechanics working on my bikes.

    • @EyeForKnowledge.
      @EyeForKnowledge. 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jim1984 There is the answer. You work in them yourself. I do the same with mine. I do all my valve adjustments, brakes, tire changes, oil changes, etc. most people don't bother keeping up with regularly scheduled maintenance on their bikes. They just ride the hell out of them than bitch when they break because they weren't maintaining them. I am speaking of friends of mine that had new euro bikes with very little mileage. One of my friends has a EXC 500. 3500 miles: blown head gasket. Now that's not a huge pain in the ass. But it is the principle.

  • @danielsandoval8345
    @danielsandoval8345 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That's almost the same price of a full size car. That's way too much for a motorcycle don't you think? Maybe if it was 5 grand cheaper, but 14 grand is not my peripheral right now.
