She is such a great treasure for those who are influence by Ayn Rand in one way or another. Thank you.
All sorts of parasites claim to admire Rand, especially republicans, but she DESPISED the republicans. Those who claim to be her fans have never bothered to study her NON fiction work.
Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Milgram for this interview. I thoroughly enjoyed this and will look for other courses and lectures! I wish I had discovered her sooner!
One of my favorite movies.
My second daughter´s name is Dagny Kira DOMINIQUE.
I hope she grow up as Dominique!
@@team1275 For me she was KIRA. I lament that she resists to watch the movie or read THE FOUNTAINHEAD, which saddens me.
@@ArmandoOrtegaM She wasn't brought into this world to please YOU! How Ellsworth Tuohy of you!
@@JohnVKaravitis She will decide or not, by herself. I tell her: when you decide, read these 3 books (ATLAS..., WE THE LIVING, THE FOUNTAINHEAD) and see how great you were intended to be.
(Honestly) My surname is Taggart.. I know laws on marriage are kinda liberal these days, and marriage for citizenship to get me the fuck outta the U.K does kinda tempt me.
Gotta be honest bruv, two straight dudes getting married just to get one outta the UK and the others daughter legit-legally called Dagny Taggart is a bit of a long shot but it's certainly newsworthy! Maybe there's even a tacky documentary in there? Armando,,, (ahem,, gets down on one knee),, will you take me, Joel Taggart, as your lawfully married husband solely to make your daughter a lawfully named Dagny Taggart??
Thanks for the info. I haven't seen the movie, but am planning on rereading The Fountainhead soon.
I recently re-read "Atlas Shrugged". When I got to the Gulch I refused to leave!
It’s very good & an accurate condensing of the book. One later scene in the book is removed. The temple is removed. Ayn was involved in the production. Worth taking 2 hours for.
@@NinjaRunningWild thanks, I still haven't checked it out LOL
I am a great fan of the FOUNTAINHEAD. I respect and appreciate talent. The Venting Vigilante
My favorite novel. I have to agree with Dr. Milgram about the film.
My favourite novel Ayn Rands
Thank you!
Ayn's message is simple "individualism must be paramount." In collectivism, the individual doesn't exist, only the collective where those who stand out above average must be punished for that. Success requires punishment thru govt because you have too much and your abundance must be given to those who have wants which today we call "equity." This is the greatest evil of all time.
Individualism In America, 2023, does not exist! It has been replaced by the collective blather of NBC, ABC and CBS!!!
When I read the novel, I pictured Michael Rennie as Roark. Cooper didn't quite fit my mental image.
Keep in mind that Rand did everithing, wrote the dialogues of the film herself, chose the director and the whole cast. You Americans, in general, are devoid of culture, the Rand is an empty mind! Greetings from Italy
Rush 2112!!! 😎✌️♥️

That was the original I think that it would have had more of a sci-fil flare if done by the later 1980's/90's version of the band, since it was more synth-y. You would be suprirised how many Objectivists were and are Rush fans. Mark Scott (WOR, 710 AM New York, 3 to 6 pm wkdays) James Valiant Steven (facebook) and me (but then I worship at the alter of Bob Moog, was a big combo organ/pslychedelic fan in the late '60's and just fit right into Progressive Rock: Yes, Asia, Rush et al)
Gary Cooper didn't understand Roark or Rand or Objectivism and his performance was painfully inept. He was a huge star at the time but a terrible casting choice.
Yep.
Rand was present for the entire making of the film and she approved it, so . . . ?
Ayn Rand Books were written w/ the help of super Computer that is controlling the world. Input for the story was done by family members in the Northeast and/or La. Fountainhead was named for my Uncle who’s last name was Fountain. He looked exactly like Clack Gable.
I love the Fountainhead, but the movie is awful. With the leading cast and the design, there was a good chance but the script simply dumbs down too much of the plot and its main ideas, as if someone is imitating the Fountainhead rather than adapting it faithfully. I really wish it was better- Gary Cooper was a great choice.
