It was! The ride was back in March, and it was organized by the PCH Randonneurs (in LA). They have a great calendar, I am going down there again this year for a 600k to Borrego Springs.
What a great ride! You were tough to hang in there even with the terrible headwinds. Our home San Francisco 300 K is a lot easier!
