Thanks for making time to share your knowledge. I'm a novice machinist and I'm not looking to drop $100's immediately on carbide tooling, so learning how to make and sharpen HSS tools is valuable to me.
I find that these cobalt/HSS tools are far better for screwcutting, the tungsten tipped inserts are so easy to break, the only advantage they have is you can index then round without altering your settings, I was pleased to see you emphasise the need for constantly dressing the wheel, most important! Thanks for the video. Really helped me to set my grinder rest to the proper angle. May I ask what you use to dress the wheel? Also. Running a carbide insert, as I understand carbide loves speed, is it better to run HSS, or does carbide actually work for this operation? Thanks again.
That is an incorrect threading tool bit. A: It wont last worth a dam. B: It will produce an out of spec thread. That is where we are today. People learning wrong crap then teaching other that same wrong crap.

What are the numbers for on the gage?
Also, are you concerned about throwing sparks on a gas line?
put the work in the vice use the flat of an angle grinder wheel, finish if you want on your bench grinder
Can you teach how to grind groove tool?
