- In this video I talk with a bullion dealer about traveling with gold and silver. Is it possible to safely travel with silver coins and gold coins? Can you travel internationally with silver and gold bullion? What are the dangers of traveling with silver bars and gold bars? These are some of the questions we cover in this video. If we do have a SHTF crisis in the future what are the risks when traveling with silver and gold and how can these risks be avoided? Silver coins and gold coins can be a great way to preserve wealth. I went through a TSA check point recently with six coins in my carry on bag (5 silver coins of various sizes and 1 one ounce gold Libertad). I was surprised when a TSA agent held up the bag after it went through the scanner, asked if it was mine and then asked if I had coins in it. I said "yes" and she then asked "how many" to which I replied "six". She said "correct" and handed the bag to me. I had no clue traveling with six coins would raise any interest.
and their job was to look for guns, knives, and other contrabands. She was just being very nosy when she asked you those questions that had NOTHING to do it being "contrabands".
When she asked if those were yours, she was probably checking to make sure you weren't unintentionally being used as a mule for smugglers or money launderers.
I love seeing empty shelves at coin shops. Shows that people are taking care of themselves! :)
Yeah, I'm starting to think I might owe a few people apologies because my past self said there's no way a precious metals currency system would be functional on day one of a fiat collapse. I'm happy to be (hopefully) proven wrong. I'm still not 100% sure there are enough people owning precious metals, but I'm happy to see there's enough awareness that MAYBE by the time the US fiat system collapses, we could make it happen. That's a lot better scenario than what I assumed would take place, which is just mass panic and chaos. Like I said, I'm still not 100% sure, but I'm a bit more hopeful now.

The 10,000 number was for a time when a million bucks was a lot of money. It should be raised to 50,000 or more at this point in time.
The $10k number is from the early 1970’s. It has not been adjusted for 50 years of inflation. I ask my US rep and senators to address this but nothing. I suspect if there was an effort to increase this number law enforcement would protest strongly. Our only option is to keep going to our US rep and senators for a law change.
It's just as ridiculous as the 1200$ hand pay tax slips at casinos. Maybe that was alot 25 -50 years ago but it's nothing these days.
And what's the deal with Bitcoin? Why is that worth more than gold, when it tries to act like a legitimate substitute?
@@lamarravery4094 because bitcoin is easily manipulated and can be just as worthless as fiat money. I don't trust them and trust gold much more than anything else.

10 Grand is still better then here in Germany where we have to give our informations to the seller at 2.000€ and up. One Oz of gold is now over 2k, so there is no chance to buy 1 Oz of gold without registering.

Yeah I was thinking that too... If you bought say $9995 worth of gold... paid cash and then walked out the store and put it in the trunk... could you take a walk round the block for 5 minutes then walk back in the store any buy another $9995 without having to fill in the form?
Technically, you can buy $10,000 worth with cash, without having to fill out the 8300 form.
Big Brother calls that intentionally structuring to avoid the law which is also breaking the law.

You guys are Lucky over there, here in Germany the Limit for buying Gold und Silver is at 2000 Euro. So we cant even buy one OZ anymore Without reporting it to the goverment.
A few years ago it was also at 10.000€.
So your better buy as Long as you can.

So we're no longer able to buy 1 oz gold coin anonymously.

There was a guy who did some videos on selling silver coins/rounds in different countries in Europe and he had quite a bit of difficulty. In one country the dealer said he couldn’t sell to the guy because the guy was not a resident. In another the dealer wouldn’t buy his constitutional silver because it had no value to them unless it was way under spot. Interesting videos and a big eye opener with regards to relocating to or starting over in another country with just a handful of gold/silver coins.
