    TRAIL RUNNING 101. This is such a great video full of detailed breakdown of trail running advice and tips. Whether somebody is a new or a veteran trail runner, this video is very helpful. Thanks for another amazing video my friend and for including me in it. I can't wait to get back in the trails again. Oh and you make trail running look so effortless as always, I hope to run with you one day so I can slow you down. Hahaha. Be safe and take care always Sage.

    Shout out to all the TH-cam trail video creators ... one of the main reasons I started my channel was because there weren’t many “trail tutorial” videos out there for my VA trails that actually talked about what to look out for

      Right?! One of the reasons I follow your channel brotha. Great content and quality, with lots of East Coast love! Thanks for watching man.

    Great tips Sage, I liked the circles that moved as you ran & staying loose is spot on, you see some folk run & they look so stiff, watching the best fell runners run down hill quickly makes you realise how loose you need to be 👍🏃

    I have built the bad habit of looking down, especially after long miles. I will try the of the rule of thirds, loved that tip! The tree grab is something I do a lot and makes me feel like a kid again. Lol

    • @TrailSage

      We are all guilt of this one Gill, lol. Let me know how the rule of thirds works out for you. Thx for watching.

    Great video! I also TH-cam search for races I will be doing, or even just new trails. Great tip! To quote Seth James DeMoor "Eyes up, pump arms, quick feet" is a great mantra. This is a really well done and put together video!

    I admire people who can run like this -- and on rocks! I seem to have bad coordination -- even just coming down steps in my house! lol! Lots of good tips and things for me to think about for rocky runs.

    • @TrailSage
      @TrailSage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thx for watching Becky. If you know your strength and weaknesses then you are ahead of the game. You can improve your foot/eye coordination through practice and simple drills.

    Top tips mate! It can sometimes be like gymnastics when your out there jumping and climbing over things. You can't beat a good technical trail. Thanks for sharing your advice with us Sage! 😎🤘🏻

    • @TrailSage
      @TrailSage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ben you may have hit a cool idea there. Using gymnastics to improve trail running... love it. Thanks for all the support brotha.

    I like the rule of thirds. Neuromuscular training has improved my trail running, as you said, we often have to make split-second decisions. Thanks Sage!

    • @TrailSage
      @TrailSage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're right Reto, that's the key. Thanks for watching, I always look forward to your feedback.

      @@TrailSage I was visualizing this video running on the snow-covered technical trails this Saturday, and wish there was a "snow" version of the video. Going downhill my Hoka's turned into well-waxed downhill racing skis. Loving your content, Sage!

      @@Kelly_Ben My biggest issue is always my ankles. I have to tape them up before every trail run, and even then I still turn them sometimes.

      @@TrailSage I've had a crap right ankle since I wasa kid, even after physical therapy. The best thing that ever happened to my ankle was a catastrophic injury while ice climbing. A month in 3 different casts, combined with 4 months of physical therapy, and that sucker is SOLID!! 😆 So I hear you. I always have simple knee and ankle braces in my vest- good thing, cuz i gave away an ankle brace to an injured AT thru hiker this summer.

    Excellent video Sage! I really enjoyed watching! Great tips too, thanks for sharing your experience. I'd add perhaps to have light steps and keep moving if possible: if a rocks slips under your foot, you're already stepping over to the next rock.
