My guy really boarded an enemy ship in a MS with no thrusters or ability to maneuver in space, just grappling hooks and magnets. And actually survived the battle, despite having no ranged weapons. Respect.
I guess it's a matter of interpretation since the Jegan wielded the beam saber with 2 hands so it chose to discard the shield, you can say the pilot just prefers to use two hands for the beam saber and the shield messes with the range of motion and is dead weight, though there's probably other possibilities, Unicorn kinda just likes to give specific lore tidbits with their mobile suits
Probably because he's going into a very close range combat against a CQC Specialist Suit. The last thing you want in CQC is a big plank of metal to obstruct your movement, speed and vision. He failed, though.
@@purissukpanichnant8414As someone who has done HEMA to first touch, this is absolutely false. Shields are always good unless you have enough armour to make them redundant or your opponent has enough power to make them useless.

The Schuzrum Galluss was pretty much made as a lightweight kamikaze machine, so...
@@darko7432 still it's like you are a kamikaze pilot your plane is meant to blow up but instead you take out 5 enemy fighters and get back safe
It's weird how the chain mine can blow up thick battleship grade armor, but magically can't break much thinner Gundam armor. 😂
Kinda weird that they bothered to paint a Jegan shield a darker shade of green to match the Geara Zulu, and why did the Jegan discard its shield?

Better handling for its beam saber, maybe.
