It’s not gonna happen. Bob knows exactly who can beat Sydney.
Fundamental fact that many people forget: Bol only started on the hurdles in 2019 (!!). In other words, when she got the Bronze in Tokio in 2021 Bol had only two years of experience on the hurdles compared to McLaughlin who started in 2016 and thus already had 5 years of training and experience on the hurdles in 2021. That is a massive difference. Yet in 2023 - a few months after changing to the 14 step stride - Bol already ran a 51.45 in London which would have won a gold in Tokio... I am not saying that Bol has already caught up with McLaughlin, because that remains to be seen when McLaughlin finaly decides to run again, but it does put another light on all those people who shout that Bol will never catch up with McLaughlin... I am really interested what a confrontation between the two will bring, but I am afraid there will be none...

Yep, Bol's IAF rating on the 400 meter is 1272, McLaughlins 1257. Clear enough.
Bol wil run 48.41 this year (or faster). Mark/screenshot this post and then come back to me to ask how I calculated it in March 2024.
All you people who think Sydney is such a sure bet :
1. you haven't seen Bol's form this year?
2. you aren't acknowledging that Sydney hasn't raced and has had an injury?
3. Bol's recent INDOOR PR is also her all-time PR -- 49.17. Indoors. I repeat. Indoors.
4. Syd's PR is outdoors, 48.74.
A 49.17 indoors is at least a 48.7 outdoors. Forget it. I'm a Syd fan, but Bol looks absolutely incredible.
It's for SURE a race and there isn't a clear pick right now. Period.

Indeed Dutch Bol will not beat our Syd face to face - cause there will be no Syd face in any her immense hurdle races. But Bol will smash the time of 50:68 very easily this year. Lieke Klaver will receive the Gold Medal in Paris also Bol in hurdles. Both will receive the 4x400 relay Gold Medal.
Trying to figure out why Mc's coach has her not competing, you gauge yourself by the efforts you put out, against others .
she has been competing at a high level for years, she needed a break going into an Olympic year
Bol is on a rol! She has the momentum and is at the moment clearly faster than McLaughlin on the 400 flat (she is nearly as fast indoor as McLaughlin outdoor...) I really want to see them run directly against each other in Paris..
The data are clear: at the moment Bol is stronger on the 400 flat than McLaughlin. But of course McLaughlin is working on her condition, and so will Bol be doing the coming few months. So in that sense many things can happen... However, the big question is whether there will be any direct confrontation in Paris...

Femke Bol has a PB of 49.17 (Check the site of IAF) which was RUN INDOOR (!) Which is about equal to a 48.20 (Or faster) Outdoor. So that is LOT FASTER then mrs Neverrun!🤣🤣🤣

Since then McLaughlin has been in HIDING (with a "minor knee injury" that somehow did not heal in 1.5 year?) And Femke Bol DOMINATED the scene in 2023... Where Bol, just having changed her stride to 14 steps she WON ALL RACES (20 in total) Yeah, right, she "never won". Well, bloke, it is impossible to win from somebody who DOESN'T RUN....
