Love you guys, from that talk you guys have in my school, you have seriously deeply inspire me that anything is possible specially when it comes to visiting every corner of this wonderful world that has been given that we are also sadly destroying but love you guys !!! Hi guys! that Besar u've been eating in the video is called Apam Balik. Besar means big which most probably refers to the size because they usually come in 2 sizes Besar (Big) and Kecil (Small and this one is usually crispy) :) Welcome to Malaysia btw and hope you guys enjoyed your visit!
absolutely impressed with the amount of food you 2 bought at the market. usually its us asians who went all out on buying foods. good job at trying all those things out. and the faces after tasting the food, it's for sure, a kodak moment!
mee hoon/bee hoon is rice noodles/vermicelli ...usually stir fried in chilli paste, onions and maybe some soy sauce with proteins such as prawn and chicken also beef .... maybe yours are sour cause they put tamarind juice or maybe they squeeze a lime....usually they put the lime on the side and let you decide if you want it sour or not
@@ChaseforAdventure normally bihun tastes quite good (salmon colour). It's a pitty that you've got the bad one. Brown! BTW coklat is the same pronounciation as chacolate.
@@65rainz I know!! I really wanted to like the Bihun, but that was just not a good one. HAHA! Thank you!! I wish I would've known that there and not sounded so silly Lol
Nasi lemak is usually wrapped in banana leaves, they cook the rice in coconut milk, a little salt and pandan leaves....some of them put ginger, fenugreek even lemongrass to flavour the rice, but i prefer the coconut pandan rice.... serve with a sambal chilli, onions, some shrimp paste no tomato in it but nowadays they tend to put tomato ketchup which i is not to my taste and proteins such as chicken, paru/lampong (cow's lung), dried squid, canned squid, cockles and most common dried anchovies.... boiled or fried eggs... cucumbers, fried anchovies and fried peanuts.... i think the one you had is not the best....
@@ChaseforAdventure for nasi lemak, you really have to search for sambal that is to your taste. seriously...did you 2 finish all the food you bought? cuz that's a lot kudos on your attempts at speaking Malay
shrimp cake is actually shrimp fritters.. made of flour mixed with shrimp n deep fried.. normally eaten together with chili sauce as dipping.. Peneram is a traditional kuih (cookies) which is not easy to make..
Nasi Kandar - named for how they were sell in the olden days... kandar - a long wooden or bamboo pole with the load (in this case the rice and sauces) on each hand and carried by putting the pole on the shoulder) the sauces usually are several curries one of it is called kurma ..... no pork as the sellers usually muslim and usually the proteins are beef, chicken, liver
yeah apam balik.... i prefer the crispy one too, but i always asked for xtra sweetcorn in mine.... kuih peneram/deram is make with rice flour and gula melaka (palm sugar) there is one more kuih(kwayh) which is made from the same ingredients (the consistency is more liquidy uncooked) put through some kind of container with fine holes and let it flow into the oil and fry them called kuih karas.....
Hello... Both of you looks enjoyed while visiting Malaysia @ Langkawi especially. At Langkawi its quite a lot of Pasar Malam @ Night Market. You should try another Night Market... quite near to airport. Local people called its, 'Pasar Malam Padang Matsirat'.
That’s so exciting! So the market actually changes locations every night but Annette has actually put together a full guide for Langkawi! Let me know if you have any other questions friend 😁 www.chaseforadventure.com/langkawi-malaysia/
Just saw your message. Langkawi is a duty free island and since its difficult to fly your car into this place, there are loads of places where you can rent cars, bikes and MPVs or SUVs everywhere. All you need is a standard bike or car license from your home country. International license is not required.
Hey people's :) I am visiting Kuala Lumpur in August. I would love to visit Langkawi again ( haven't been since I was a kid ). I was just wondering what the weather is like in this month? I hear so many mixed things.
If Peneram/Denderam is Daniel favorite then i would suggest you guys do compilation of all Peneram throughout your adventure in Malaysia 😎 also same goes to Apam Balik crispy version (i less like Apam Balik soft/thick version 😂)
Nice video but recommend you guys take a Tupperware box or two with you traveling for takeaway food so you are not promoting the sudps which are destroying the island ☺️
That's a great idea! Because it is so true, the plastics seem to be all over the beach and water in certain places in South East Asia. SEA sure does love their thick plastic bags for everything.
Most probably, some food were selected from wrong stall, the basic bihun goreng cant go very wrong... it may not the delicious food but tbh it cant be the worst one.
Another great VLog thanks… When you was in Qatar you covered your shoulders and legs out of respect for their culture… Is there any reason why you’re not doing it in the Islamic country of Malaysia? Many thanks
Great question! So when we came, we assumed that island people wouldn’t care. For example, in the south of Thailand where all the islands are, there is a huge Muslim population but no one cares. We thought it would be the same for Malaysia but we were so wrong 😂 😭 People even denied serving us food multiple times before we realized it was how we were dressing. We do want to make sure we respect the cultures we visit so as soon as we realized this, we immediately redid all of our outfits to make sure we were covered up. ☺️💙
Yes! The langkawi night market was by far our favorite! We went all over Malaysia and went to markets in every place we went but nothing compared to the island market ☺️
I know friend! We started keeping our own bags a few months ago so that we can reuse them and not just throw away a bunch of plastic. Fun fact, over the last few months some of SE Asia has been pushing for recycling and getting locals involved! It’s been amazing to see. I do have a question for you, do you know a good place to get reusable chopsticks online? I’ve tried finding them in person but there are only ever the disposable ones 🥺
@@ChaseforAdventure we r going in august including penang and was shocked to see all.you tube videos showing so much plastic bags and wrapping the Malaysians hopefully need to understand this is going to kill their country beauty I'm.looking forward to the trip and will visit all the food markets if course will do my best to eat at the stall without the takeaway plastic procedure I have wooden chopsticks that we will take and reuse whenever possible good video though keep up the good work
