WOW! JUST WOW!!!! It doesn't matter what album the song comes from , Within Temptation hits ya right in the gut every time and The Purge is no exception
I ADORE your reaction to this phenomenonal song so from the bottom of my heart thank you. I connected with you in every single spine tingling moment truely. Love WT forever. ♥️❤️
Tauri darling! I'm glad you enjoyed this one, however my initial reaction was "Is it just me or I can hear fuzzy sound in the background and the mixing sounds chaotic here?" As Juliette pointed out above (or below? lol), it's compressed and actually sounds so much better on Spotify or other streaming services where you can hear Ruud's lead guitar work and Jeroen's bass line clearly. I like the synth work here too, very 80s :)
Yeay! Look at you! Know BMTH music so well 😆 This is definitely my favorite from their new materials, literally on repeat. Also, the audio in here is compressed. For full awesome hearing experience, I suggest to listen to it on Spotify or Deezer. More thumbs up for the cute skull prints 💀
Okay you know what I told you in private about this song. I listened to this song yesterday evening at work for 5 times as I wanted to know if this song and style from WT would pulled me in...I will confess: it did. Thank you for the reaction. Rock on!!! ❤🤘🏻
@@blade2814 both are amazing to be honest. I guess it is the fact that I can easily just listen to the instrumental of this without the lyrics and it be just as powerful is pretty damn sweet. They released the entire Resist album instrumentals which are good but none of them are ones I've added to my Spotify Liked songs.
My thought on this is, it should have been a duet. And yeah, I know, Sharon has done her share of duets -- but songs like "And We Run" (ft. Xzibit), "Raise Your Banner", and "The Reckoning" are very similar to this one, though "The Purge" feels slower, but heavier. As for the synths, I dont mind them, I just think they might be a bit overdone, in this song -- which would mean that the balance would need adjusted. And I only say that because there were parts where Sharon's voice was plainly overwhelmed by the synth sound, and she is not clearly heard. This, I feel, detracts from the overall sound. But other than that, I'm just glad to see WT and Sharon still making music, still feeling out their new direction. I hope to see more music from them in the future.
This still isn't my preferred sound when it comes to Within Temptation, but it is a bit more my speed! I also love the video, it has a very "dark fantasy" feel to it.
This is a good song, quite cathy chorus to my ears. Other band...well, ever heard of Ex Libris? The lead singer is opera singer Dianne van Giersbergen ( not related to Anneke) Dianne was present on the 2 latest Ayreon releases too ( Electric castle live show and Transitus) Ex Libris released a trilogy about 3 historical figures all called Ann. Check out the songs The Courtship, The Motherland and The Diary.
Wouldn't take Entertain You too serious. Guess it was a more fun song for the planned tour to play live. I'm sure they won't go back to old style of early 00s but if they continue this path i'm fine. Sounds great :)
I agree. "Entertain You" was a disappointment for me. This one however is closer to their older sound. The classic Sharon's powerful voice. She brings so much emotion when she sings like this. Love it! Out of all the Symphonic Metal groups, WT has been my favorite. They really need to get back to their roots. This song is a step in the right direction.
Well, one thing is for certain and that is the fact that WT´s wikipedia page is hopelessly out-of-date as it still states that WT is a symphonic metal band. :-D It is a good song and I still like Sharon´s voice, but I am on the fence about their usage of synths. I would still like you to check out MaYaN just to see what Mark Jansen was up while not being busy with Epica. Even just on your own. And please, give Cellar Darling one more chance as the song that you reacted to is probably the "weirdest" out of their repertoire. "Black Moon" or "Avalanche" from the first album are more straight-forward. And then, there is Vintersea. You have already heard Ayreon, but not Avantasia ---- Avantasia - Lost in Space - Masters of Rock 2016 DVD Or something quite unusual which would be a pillow-fight in a moshpit ---- | The Anchor | - One More Day (Official Video)
Entertain you was the absolute worst song they ever did... In my learned opinion. And there were 3 others on the album the unforgiving which were very "meh"
The chorus of this song is phenomenal 🤘🏻
The return of choirs makes my heart happy.
This is poised to be a classic. I hope this is big for them as much as it was for my heart. I felt the same goodbumps!
Goosebumps but they were good goodbumps so goodbumps it is. 🤣
Fantastic song - and Sharon's voice seems to get better and better over the years. They continue to follow their path very consistently - thumbs up!!!
WOW! JUST WOW!!!! It doesn't matter what album the song comes from , Within Temptation hits ya right in the gut every time and The Purge is no exception
Such great music
Did you see her eyes at the end?!? Your eyes were closed when she opens hers.
Within Temptation is stil a revolutionairing group, because they invent themselves every time again!
Love this band and love this song
I love WT and I like this song. thank you tauri and have a great weekend.
Her voice on the chorus reminds me of Susanne Sundfor on M83's theme from "Oblivion".
Excellent song and great reaction too 🔥

Great reaction! Keep them coming:-)
Yesss now I'm first for real and not just virtual 😎🤘🏻
For me,one of the Best WT Songs! Check out the Instrumental Version of The Purge! Eargasm 😁🤘🤘
I'm shocked at how good this is.
@@littlequesadilla The Instrumental Version or Original? 😁

I love the purge such a great song! Can you react to Evanescence’s new single “yeah right” ?

I like Entertain You. It doesn't sound too different, stylistically. This just has more keyboards.
I wonder if you will like Marcela Bovine the other lady from Valley of the Queens.
