Thank you this has been really helpful I'm 25 and I've spent most of my working life working for other people and im fed up, starting my own cleaning company has always been something I've wanted to do thank you for the helpful tips and sharing your own experiences and learning curves it's been very helpful
Thank you for posting this, it has been really helpful! I am currently a student and planning to start a cleaning company and take on some clients, starting off with house cleans😁
Hi Sarah. Please will you do another video on cleaning for the getting into it, sole trader types. Prices, clients, ideas and information in regards to where you get your equipment and cleaning chemicals/materials from? I'm looking to start soon and would love more info from someone experienced (as I know how to clean well, but zero about anything else!) Thanks :D
I have thought about this in the past but talked myself out of it. I figured the staff would be high turnover- work for you for a few weeks or months and then go it alone or poach clients for themselves. So you would always be chasing your tail.
Hi Sarah, thank you for sharing your experience. I am in the process of starting my cleaning business as a sole trader. Now I am thinking, how would I pay cleaners if I need extra hands? Since most customers are paying in cash, my concern is if the client pays the cleaner directly, then she takes it and leaves? Would that mean no profit for me?
you need to charge 40 are 50 an hour and pay 10 to 12 pound to your workers make it look vip like only a logo and uniforms will make all the difference. for houses id go 25 an hour depending if you want carpets and sofas deep cleaned ther add ons it costs about 80 pound for a 3 seater and 80 for a 15ft by 15ft bed room dont always charge by hour charge by job i started 150 a day now i charge 40 to 100 an hour and i know men charging far more dont undersell yourself we in the service industry provide a luxury and it is so charge suitably from what i know you need a bottom line of 40 to 50 an hour that leaves you can pay a man 12 and just do that over and over in whatever
Only problem with that is the person you employ builds a rapport with the customer and then can undercut you massively with that customer by working direct for them. This can be somewhat mitigated if you had a team of cleaners and regularly rotate, but still a risk.
@@piperuk5366 also most peopl arent capable of running a business make sure all the tools are yours aswell and have extras like steamers and do carpets and upholstery get one of them industrial ones second had also make them where uniforms good clients will report them for being sneaky and smart peopl woant want sneaky peopl in ther hous
Im in America i believe in paying my employees more than minimum wage the minimum wage in California now for cleaners is $18 but I'll be paying my employees $28-$30 an hour with a 32 hour or less work week. You wont have your employees quiting and looking for other jobs or stealing from clients because they make good money. Im not paying them a 40 hours work week only 32 or less
I've distributed like 100 flyers so far, not even one response. It's so frustrating. I think something must be wrong with my flyers. I have experience in cleaning, I used to do it, now when I wanna go back to it no method seems to work I'm in the USA.
Try business cards also tell your friends and family so they can spread the word about your business maybe advertise in your local newspaper good luck!
Hi Sarah- is it possible to do a few more videos on selling on eBay and vintage like second hand goods. I know you have lots of videos on them already but would be nice to see some new ones for 2023
Dear Sarah, I think you are SOOOOO amazing and I would guess a really nice person. I've got a quick question, do you have a video about your affiliate business?, I can't find one so I'm guessing the answer's no, Take care, Ces
Yes of course just like with any business there is insurance and tax and declaring your income etc but as everyone's circumstances and businesses are different I'm in no position to give advice out about those types of things. This is just an intro to give people an idea about what is possible and what I've done myself
When I was doing basic domestic cleaning for someone else this is the only products we used Washing up liquid (brilliant for bathroom/shower glass cleaning) Disinfectant Glass cleaner Oven/hob cleaner Bleach Cloths & Extra cloths used to dry areas Some type of none abrasive cleaning sponge can be brill for soap scum in showers/baths Mop & Bucket Hoover
It's not really passive as a number of things could go wrong. The cleaner may not turn up. The Cleaner may not do a good job. The cleaner may do a great job but the client may be awkward. The Cleaner may have an accident and you could be liable.
Why dont you restart this, get advice this time from your local business advisor. Most uk regions have government backed support agencies. The care side combo you did with your friend with cleaning is huge

Cleaning business is one of the hardest business to scale, easy to get customers but hard to scale, you have to invest on a lot of training
It depends upon so many factors, we should be persistent.

Hi, how's the business going? Looking do the same and wanted to know if you think it's worth it
Hi have you had an issue with subcontractors undercutting you and persuading your customer to go direct to them instead?
How to find commercial clients? Is there a website ?
Hi, great video, what software do you use for invoicing/CRM purposes?
Great video thanks

Hello Marta, 100 flyers ain't that much, try to go for a much higher volume like 5000-6000 to start with and then see how it goes

Hi thank you for video. Could you please tell me who the lady is you mentioned about her documentation video?
Kind regards

Hi thanks very much, no I don't yet but I will be doing soon x
One thing you must do if you take this seriously as a business is insurance.

Hi Sarah, cant see the link for the TH-cam channel you mentioned?
Hi it should be in the description but if not it's www.youtube.com/@thehustlenetwork

It's not really passive as a number of things could go wrong. The cleaner may not turn up.
The Cleaner may not do a good job.
The cleaner may do a great job but the client may be awkward.

Don’t the cleaners just go direct or steal your clients?
Yeah I'm sure it happens, that's why getting commercial contracts is the ultimate goal and just doing residential cleaning in the short term
@@SelfEmployedStudentMum that’s a great shout. There some franchise models out there that specialise in that field. I might take a look.
Hey, do you recommened a franchisee or start my own.
