Hey Philip! Kelsey from the Adobe Design team here 👋 Love to see how you are using Illustrator for T-shirt designs- envelope distort is one of my favorite features. This tutorial is great- super easy to follow and very informative 🥳

Another way to create the offset path effect to do those big strokes on text is by using the appearance pallet to add additional strokes. In the appearance pallet can move the fill to the front and add as many strokes as you like, and the text will still be editable - so its great for scalable designs.

Yes you are right I really don't use the appearance panel enough, it's amazing. Thanks for the tip!

Great tips as always. I want to start with the Envelope Distort function and watch this video again to practice creating awesome designs. I think your channel has become the Philip Anders Academy...Thanks for always sharing helpful information. I really appreciate it. I am learning AI and this was helpful.

Philip Anders Academy haha that's a good one :D Envelope Distort is really fun and useful I love that one. How are you finding Adobe Illustrator so far?

@@PhilipAnders I like it. I am still learning obviously. I try to practice often to improve my skills. One of the things I learned from one of your videos and today's upload was how to create a design for a black shirt, and how to make a circular design...In a nutshell, your videos are helping me with learning AI. Thanks again.

Phillip, this is an OUTSTANDING demonstration tutorial video! Well done! I am going to have to save/watch/practice these tips you shared. Very valuable tips for POD. Once again you show you know the stuff, and your very good, clear explanations (and demonstrations) of the techniques you use are very good. I also commend your use of onscreen text (keyboard commands and font used and other tips). That helps too.
One more thing I noticed that helps in a tutorial like this is how you ZOOM IN to show the tool icon used. That really helps someone like myself who is NOT familiar with Illustrator icons. My only suggestion to improve on this is to go a bit slower when you show the icons (or where to find them in palettes or on menu bars, etc.).
Also, this video covered so many tools, so briefly, that I think it would be very useful (for your channel) to dive deeper into each of the tools you showed (as separate videos on those individual tools), with a few more examples shown of how the sliders and tick boxes change the tool function/results. For example, you showed the "envelope" use to warp the text. Because I am unfamiliar with that tool/menu each possible checkbox or slider is a mystery to a newbie like me. So, if you did a video that showed just that tool, and showed examples of how each tickbox or slider affected the design I think that would be very useful to help other newbies gain confidence in making those changes to the settings of the tools. I think that would be a good way of showing your experience/expertise, and would provide more valuable videos that others (even those not focuse on POD designs) would learn from (more general Illustrator audience finding your video channel). So, from the perspective of a "new to Illustrator" viewer, I think your demonstrations are OUTSTANDING. I just wish they were a little longer on each tool shown, with more examples of how settings for each tool affects the design. Thanks for sharing your experience/knowledge with us!

Thank you very much for the extensive Feedback once again! And you are right I could have definitely shown some of these tools a bit more in depth. The envelope distort is very valuable for t-shirt design so I might go over that in a video of it's own. Thank you for your suggestion! :)
