    Thank you for watching the videos I’ve done about machine embroidery! If you have additional questions, I first ask that you go through the playlist of previous vids as I may have answered it already. Because I’m *not* a sewing machine tech / expert I cannot provide 1-on-1 assistance with your machine or guide you through specific issues. I started my etsy shop with the pe800. The reason I decided to do it this way was because I couldn't afford a multi needle and didn't want to be stuck with monthly payments before knowing if I could actually get sales or not. I also didn't want to learn embroidery on an expensive machine and do something stupid and break it.
    In the end, I was able to get sales on my etsy shop. It was hard work because I was doing kids birthday shirts so with the pe800 I had to babysit the shirts the entire time. I couldn't multi task. I also had to rehoop the shirts for the name so the design could be large enough on shirts above 3T. I was able to do about 10 shirts maximum a day and it took all day. But at that point I knew I was getting more than enough sales to cover the monthly payments on a multi needle so I upgraded

    Great video. I will say that I got the PE800 because of your advice and a few others. I learned embroidery on it and use it for other projects. I recently upgraded to a 6 needle and am so happy I did. But without the PE800 foundation first, for me, I would have been lost. Love your honesty.

    This machine is good for smaller business such as personalizing toys 🧸 or selling patches that only use 1 color of thread. Keep in mind that the more thread color choices your project has the more time it will take for that project

    I’ve just started sewing my own scrub caps. Now my colleges want my caps and I’d like to stitch their names and titles. This machine seems as if it would work great for the simple embroidery. Thanks so much!

    I was living in Japan up until last year. I purchased a Brother “Parie” machine for around $560 USD. It did both embroidery and sewing like a champ. I sold it before I moved back to the US because I thought I could find a cheaper embroidery and sewing machine here for around the same quality. How very wrong I was. 😅

    Very good information. You are so right about the points you have made. I have a very old Husqvarna Viking Designer I which I only use once in a while, but it is also a sewing machine. However, I am tempted by the Babylock Alliance. It’s strictly a one free arm embroidery machine. But, what a hefty price tag of $5,000.

  • @helenparker1870
    @helenparker1870 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    If you buy a single needle machine get one that is a combined sewing/embroidery machine as these tend to have higher end sewing features. Factor in the size, weight and noise generated by these machines. Multi needle machines need their own stand if you want to move them around as they are too heavy to lift on your own. Whereas a single needle machine can be stored away when not in use. Probably best to start with a secondhand combined sewing/embroidery single needle machine to get used to fabric, stabilisers and thread, to see if you like stitching out embroideries. Designing is fun and the end product is beautiful, but watching the machine stitch it out can be noisy and tedious.

    Would you know how to group colors together. My machine se600 has me changing 8 colors 120 times because it chooses to sew in sections instead of each color at a time. Keep in mind I did separate the colors in inkstitch.

    • @anniemariengatelier

      @@MarkusWITH_a_k You need an embroidery editing software like Sew What Pro to do that before sending the file to your SE600.

    I kind of thought that it wouldn't be a good idea to use a single needle embroidery machine for a business. I know someone who uses there single needle machine to make kid shirts and it takes at least 30 to 45 mins to stitch out a shirt. And multi-needle machines scare me 😁

    • @SewingReport
      @SewingReport  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, the maintenance and repairs on a multi-needle embroidery machine does seem daunting. Some people can DIY this, but if you're not very mechanical, you'll need to consider the availability and cost of an embroidery machine tech expert.

    Loads of people say they started with 1 needle then upgraded, I feel like doing that you need quite a few money, just checked a semi industry one and it's starting at 11K, for some of us more than we will ever have, even with monthly rates :(
