Amazing woman and actress, multi-talented and brilliant. She was so diverse, intelligent and full of surprises. No wonder she was unable to remain in one relationship as she moved through life; yet had several meaningful long-lasting loves which she found fulfilling. Could be the greatest star of Hollywood`s Golden Age. I saw MacLaine dance LIVE in Reno, Nevada c1970s after having interviewed her in Hollywood when she was making `A Change of Seasons` . You cannot imagine, you cannot. Performances of some are pieced together on film. Many are coached relentlessly. Marilyn Monroe is one example. Not so with Shirley. My G-d, she was a cyclone and for 1.5 hrs she dominated the stage flinging all the chorus girls out of the way who accidentally or on purpose obstructed. Sadly a few years later she was unable to dance sustaining some joint condition brought on no doubt from the 100% she gave any and all she did.
I am of the same age group as Shirley and also fell madly in love with Robert Mitchem, me at a distance. I also was a cooke that love to research spiritual subjects and reincarnation. Great life Shirley, well played.

Ms. MacLaine would drive past my old Abode type house on the outskirts of Santa Fe, slow down while looking at what I was doing...Taking all the modern touches away and bringing it back to its original state. The house was built by an scientist at Los Alamos where the government was building Atomic bombs .Once Ms MacLaine stopped with her Jack Russel who peed on my bushes, told me the scientist died in this house of radiation cancer.. Sometimes she be at the coop looking for fresh peppers. And say, "you're making progress|.

I thought she was absolutely fantastic in Guarding Tess. A very moving film. She played the part to perfection. She is a searcher. Thankfully for all of those who are trying to figure out what life is all about there are guide posts along the way, but some of these must be discarded when they prove to be the wrong way. Jesus Christ proves he is the way because he came back from the dead to prove it. No one has topped that.
