      Am I correct in thinking the delta max is the better model than the delta 2 an not quite sure in why but it doesn’t make sence to me as to the max uses battery’s that you get 500 full charging cycles but with the delta 2 you get 3000 charging cycles plus an extra 2 years warranty on it , seams a no brainier to me to go with the much lower price one the delta 2 to me 🤔

    With that inverter and the upgraded battery it certainly is a beast of a unit in a compact size. While I agree with the port placement is a bit of a negative, this is definitely going on my list of must haves for next summer's road/camping trip especially since my truck's 400W AC inverter could get this thing topped off driving between fill ups while running a fridge.

    Nice to see EcoFlow finally updating to the LiFePo4 battery chemistry. Not sure I like the outlets on two sides which is a common EcoFlow design. They are missing out on the truck camper and van life population having them set up this way. Plus the efficiency ratings are a bit low for a thousand dollar power station. It is a nice power station, but not one for everyone. Nice review Brain!

    Good Morning Brian, Looks like a great value with a few shortfalls in my opinion. The efficiency rating was kinda disappointing but I kinda understand why, it’s a budget unit so they wanted to keep the cost down. The UPS feature was really disappointing at 30ms? Even my EB3A has a faster switch, so it’s useless using the Delta 2 for a computer UPS, I think they shouldn’t have cost cut that UPS switch since they put a faster switch on my $250 EB3A. Also the expansion battery doesn’t have any ports or any way to charge it so you need the Delta 2 to charge that battery, again that’s probably a cost cutting thing. Other than those issues I will be purchasing it when they become available, it’s still a lot of bang for the buck for the price tag under 1K, thanks for the review and have a great day.

    Hello, do you know if when used as EPS the power used from the grid is limited to the 1.8 kW that supports the station when is working or you can use as power as the grid can support? For my needs in my sailboat the delta 2 is enough but in winter in Port I use a heating resistance that consumes more power than the station can delivery but the shore can supply. If the delta 2 can by-pass more than 1.8 kW it's good for me, if not IHave to go d'or the delta max. I appreciate yours comments. Thanks very much!!

    • @BrianWatersOutdoors
      @BrianWatersOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard to say what “reasonable” is to you, but this is only around 1000wh’s. Depending on your fridge and how old it is it might run it for a few hours, or it might not even start it up at all. A lot of older fridges have a very inefficient compressor that takes over 2000watts to get the compressor to kick on. Newer fridges take a lot less and use around 100-150 watts when the compressor is running. That scenario would get you a good 6-8 hours.

  • @farside87
    @farside87 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Brian, Thanks for the review. The biggest improvement I see is the safety factor they have done by moving to the LiFrPo4 batteries. The NCM Li-Ion batteries can provide more power storage, but with a NCM Li-lon there is always the chance of thermal runaway and the batteries catching fire and even exploding. Also, I noticed the Inverter in most of the small power stations on the market are on the lower end of efficiency, around 80%. So, I'm just curious what the idle consumption rate would be for this unit. How fast will it drain itself if left ON and not switched in auto shutdown? Thanks again for the review.

    • @farside87
      @farside87 ปีที่แล้ว

      Found on their site that EcoFlow is reporting that when the AC Inverter is ON, the power loss will be 30W-40W, when OFF the loss will be 10W - 20W.

    The app got me thank you for the review but they are not sending the solar cord, it’s extra. It’s not a UPS, but it’s a EPS. Shower than an UPS. It’s a Emergency Power Supply. It may keep a refrigerator going. But remember the refrigerator has a computer so I don’t know if i would use the higher amperage as dropping the voltage would have an issue on the compressor. But I ordered it for my refrigerator backup. Thanks for your review.

    Hi Brian, fantastic review. At 14mins 12 secs, you show two heat guns pulling over 2000w. I would buy this unit if it can power our automatic washing machine. This draws about 2000w for a few minutes at a time to heat water to 40 degrees at various points throughout a 1 hour programme. Do you think it could handle 2000w for a few minutes? Thanks

    Can you solar charge (or use a gas generator) to charge one of the battery packs separately from the main unit? I plan on using this through a switch on my panel board in the basement during black outs. If the black out was an extended period of time it would be nice to take the battery pack outside and hook it up to a generator, charge it up and then hook it back up to the delta 2. Would I be able to do that? Great review by the way.

    Hi Brian! I just purchased a Delta 2 for the following statement: "A simple power outage solution to power your essential home appliances with 1800W AC output by directly connecting the DELTA 2 with your home's power inlet box". However, there is no support documentation on their site on how to do that. I came across your video while searching and saw you connected your RV to the Delta 2 and I'm looking to do something similar in my small home (i.e., TV, internet, lights, coffee maker, gas water heater power sensor, gas oven electric start, etc. - nothing over 120V). I did wattage calculations and the DELTA 2 can support my needs for a 4-8 hour power outage. How do you connect it to an electrical panel (yes, I'll hire an electrician)?

    • @BrianWatersOutdoors
      @BrianWatersOutdoors  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So, I was using this on my RV straight off the 120v receptacle I built into my RV. Just used a heavy gauge extension cord plugged directly from the Delta 2 to the camper. My camper is not a 30amp like most RV’s.
