Jaguar I-Pace all the way. Interior looks much better in my opinion. The dual screen layout is obviously more expensive, but works very well in practice. As for range, I find the EPA rating of the I-Pace easy to beat. And have no doubt the Polestar can do the same. At high speed the I-Pace higher Cw-value will deminish range more quickly,. As for reliability, true that Jaguar does not have a very good record on that. However, the I-Pace is an EV, which are less complex mechanically speaking. Also, the I-Pace is made in Austria at Steyr, which also makes cars for BMW and Mercedes. So far, the record on the I-Pace for reliability has been superb. I have owned an I-Pace for 19 months now, and in 36000 km it has cost me ZERO money in maintenance (and that included the first official service). As for consumption, my average in total is 21.7 kW/100 km or 34.7 kW/100 miles, with a high at 26 kW/100 km (winter) and a low of 17.3 kW/100 km (summer).
Polestar vs Jaguar has been my dilemma for a few days now so I appreciate this video. Here's where I landed. Jaguar is far more luxurious for sure. But the only I-Paces you can find are 2019/20 and have REALLY dated tech. You have to plug your phone into the infotainment console and the native nav system is far too glitchy and requires layers of voice commands to work. And while the EV ranges are similar, the charge time is very, very slow for the Jag, I also don't think the Jags are getting much OTA updates whereas Polestar is very aggressive. Bottom line, the Jag while wonderfully appointed will depreciate far faster whereas the Polestar could actually appreciate.
Absolutely… the keys, imho, include: software updates, production numbers, quality, range, and price. All should be able to exceed I-Pace since jag has barely done squat to improve any of these areas in 5 years.
I have an I-PACE HSE Black Edition on order but I have been given the opportunity to buy a Polestar 2 BST 270 Edition and Im stuck at what to do! The interior of the Jag is much more luxurious and leather isnt an option on the BST as it comes with the 'Premium Vegan' upgrade. My wife doesnt like the Polestar interior but the limited availability, faster charging and more horsepower in the Polestar (472hp) make it very tempting. Also because of the chip shortage at the moment the I-PACE doesnt have a 360 camera, park assist or cabin filters whereas the Polestar has all of these. Havent been able to decide for 2 weeks now!
Good review. Thank you. Your $10K price difference ignores the suspension differences you previously mentioned. I think suspension and ride options is a key item, along with storage difference. Also, any difference in stereo, internal ride db noise, backseat climate control? Thank you. Don’t think price and battery size is a decision factor since range is essentially the same. Can’t wait to see 2023 IPace changes given you can’t order a 2022 now.
Despite the Jaguar being the more recognized brand, the Polestar is the more desirable car. The I Pace, here in Norway, really struggle to sell, while slightly used Polestar's sells for well above list price because people can't wait to get their hands on one.
To be fair, that’s been pretty much the case with most luxury SUVs when they first come out. Constrained deliveries make so-called ‘flipping’ popular, and it also happened with the IPace when lead times of several months were common. Supply is no longer an issue, and the enticement of a brand new model (in limited supply) makes the Polestar the current "car to flip".
@@j.williamkay2771 I'm sure that's often the case, but I don't think the IPace was a super hot potato here in Norway - unlike the Tesla's, the E-Tron and recently the EQC.
I was a bit disappointed in the interior and ride of the Polestar. I handles really well around corners with the Ohlins shocks in the tester I drove but man is that harsh over rough sections of pavement. And the cabin is just a bit tight and materials a serious notch down from the Jag. Looking at the difference in width of about 6" and I am hopeful I can get a test ride in the I-pace soon as sitting in a floor model it was my favorite so far. Both cars btw are low on the economy and range scale compared to others but similar to each other. Geekmobile I mean Tesla is far better in that one regard.
Yeah Polestar 2 is winning prizes in almost all central european country's and I bet that in Canada and North America where Volvo is strong it will also sell ok, because of the brand link.
Had my I-Pace for 7 months and I smile every time I get in it. It’s just amazing. To drive it is sheer joy. It also looks amazing.
I bet it has you grinning from ear to ear! Good choice! Please give the video a LIKE 👍 and SUBSCRIBE to the channel 🙏😀

What's the average consumption on highways in 100 to 220km/hr?

Exactly!!! Jag just isn’t investing in progressing their EV efforts!

Can you do a comparison between the EV6 and the I-Pace
The Polestar 2 is NOT a crossover, it is a fastback sedan.
iPace 1st edition is the way. (You do have to get the larger upgraded wheels on pirelli tires or it doesn’t handle as good)

Range is much higher in the polestar real world.
Good to know! How many miles are you getting? Please give the video a LIKE and SUBSCRIBE to the channel 👍🙏😀
@@THEDRIVERDOWNLOAD You will get between 180 - 200 miles with an i-Pace and 230 - 250 with the Polestar.
I Pace, hands down the winner.
Jag every time

4:11 marque is pronounced "maak" ("maarKEE" is the correct pronunciation of a different word, namely marquee)

Separate screen for climate control is easier............... Google set temperature to 22 degrees................REALY?!?!?!?
Jaguar is not famous for their reliability.
Polestar 2 wins hands down.
