As an old time Triumph dealership mechanic I want to point something out. All Triumph twins have a centrifugal filter that lives in the crank. As the crank spins it spins heavy particles out of the oil and they get trapped inside the crank. After a while, even if you change the oil religiously, this trap fills up and will cause oil not to flow to the rod bearings. All old Triumphs must be considered to have full cranks. In fact I have never pulled a Triumph engine apart and not found the crank to be compromised. Once you have cleaned the trap, a filter can be added to the return side of the oil pump and most of the problem will be eliminated.
I had a 69 Bonnevile in 73. First bike and I loved it. Had to hide it from my parents at my brothers place. Only real problem was the kick start was really stubborn sometimes.
what was with the english and electricity back then? bwahhaha And I`m speaking from experience having owned a Norton 750 and repaired Triumph and MG cars for a living.
Greg Milner Yeah, Lucas is a swear word! I had a BSA Lighting, fun, fast bike ( when it ran). The great thing about British bikes is that when you change the oil you don’t have to drain much, because it all leaked out.
It’s funny that Mike started up the Bonneville in front of an Evel Knievel pinball machine, On December 31st 1967 Evel tried jumping the Cesars palace fountains on a triumph Bonneville.
Just to correct, they made the Bonneville past 74, they basically made them until NVT went bankrupt. In the UK you may even find up to 82 models. I have a 77.
this is a late 1969 Bonnie , it has a top breather and the 69 rear fender bracket with the TLS and the 69 exhaust cross over. if it was a 70 the frame is a different at front of engine.
$3500 for a 67 Bonneville. I'd take that deal any day of the week...assuming all it needs is a carb clean and a new battery. It's not the correct paint scheme or colors for 67, but it looks like someone did a nice job repainting it.
Sadly, that's not a 67. The Ignition switch is in the wrong spot, the tank badges are wrong...but the biggest give away is the TLS front wheel. The tank paint is not a factory color either. While the TLS came to be in 68, Id guess 69 or 70 assuming its not a bitsa based on the tank badges.
It's a lot of work finding the buyer who will pay top dollar. The time and energy it takes to list, arrange showings, negotiating each offer.... most of the time its just not worth it to squeeze another couple hundred bucks out of something. The choice usually breaks down to take the cash now (with little to no effort on their part), or $0 knowing they won't act on it themselves.
I noticed the taillight difference but you seem to know a little bit more about them than I do so what's wrong with paint job thanks for the info I just recently started loving triumph bikes
I saw the appraisal of the horse game on another pickers show a few years ago. To the best of my memory it was appraised around $2500, and even more if it was restored. It was a very rare piece for collectors of those. So that was a great pick.
I used to enjoy this program before I realised all they do is go round ripping people off, the show's model is them basically boasting how cheap they got something then saying how much it's really worth and what they'll sell it for
My mother-in-law used to say the same thing about this show and Pawn Stars. I try to explain the concept of wholesaling and retailing to her but she never got it
@@tolfan4438 that still doesn't negate my point. I can only deduce such 'passionate collectors' are willing to take up to a 3rd less of what their 'precious' collection is worth just so they can be on TV. Riiight
Love this show, especially when it involves old triumph motorcycles!!!

Every time I see an old Triumph I think back to 1972 when I had a 1969 Triumph Trophy 500. I wish I held on to it.
Pickers paradise. I had a 68 Bonnevile in mid seventies. Not the. most reliable bike but great fun.
I had a 69 Bonnevile in 73. First bike and I loved it. Had to hide it from my parents at my brothers place. Only real problem was the kick start was really stubborn sometimes.
Mike loves his bikes
Taco Stacks love the vids
🌮 Stacks is every where
If he loved his bikes he would change the oil before starting one that has been sitting for years.
Love to found treasure
@@boataxe4605 : They must have don’t you think?
That triumph was worth at least 10
Sorry but that's not a '67 Bonneville, I owned one for two decades. I think it's a '69. Still a very nice motorcycle.
Horse game locked in a barn for 15 years...
Dude: I always wanted to restore it.
We all know that, and most of us have things that way..
That bike was a steal!
I'd buy that Triumph from then right now.
Awesome, dude! Yeahhhh... 👍
Aaaaaah! Mike and Frank together, the golden years
What happend to Mike?
This is why i like being English cos of the triumph , i love your taste mike

He got a great price out of that guy too, they are worth loads more than that when done up
They could make an entire season worth of episodes just from this property
It’s funny that Mike started up the Bonneville in front of an Evel Knievel pinball machine, On December 31st 1967 Evel tried jumping the Cesars palace fountains on a triumph Bonneville.
Show us the appraisal! Lol love these clips but pleeeease
We need Frankie back 🔙😭
He's too busy driving on the other side of the road
Rest In Peace Frank Fritz.

The motorcycle started with 1 kick go figure. Honey Hole has a different meaning to me lol
Yeah, and he supposedly started a bike that had been sitting 15 years without changing the oil first.
I would have to cross my legs....buying that Triumph ( running) for under 4000 dollars ! Heck of nice guy !
Awesome score guy's!! I love the horse racing gambling machine it's early and made in good ole USA Chicago ILL!!!👍💕🔥💨
They had one of those horse racing games in the movie Dave.
how could you let that lay in there?? that would've never been stocked if it was me its a treasure!
this is a late 1969 Bonnie , it has a top breather and the 69 rear fender bracket with the TLS and the 69 exhaust cross over. if it was a 70 the frame is a different at front of engine.
Am I the only one that wants that old chevy?
Bike in barn who knows how long. Starts in one kick. Lol
Nice One! Cheers
Best show ever!!🤘
Only u guys can find good stuff like that nice bike
"Ha! He wanted it, paul!"
Horse racing game I think is an HC Evans possibly around 1930s.
PS!! LOVE THE JOE DIRT MULLET! 😂😂😂
R.I.P Frank the tank
The seat looked brand new! Kinda fishy ain't it?
sure its not you whos quite fishy
Just as fishy as it starting on one kick, they didn’t usually do that even when new!
anyone ever notice mike always shakes customers hands before frank.
Ok I want that triumph
Perhaps the tank was changed in its history
Is that Donald's bike? Donald Triumph LOL!

"This big baaahn, ova heeah"

And that is not the correct 1967 triumph seat either
@@JARRETT7121 Good Catch!!! The chrome trim didnt appear to 68.
Sorry but there’s no way that Triumph started up in one kick after sitting for that long lol dent even prime it haha
Nice bike.. for 3500k
I always wonder why people would sell stuff they KNOW is worth more.

The completely rotted horse game was worth zero bucks
Test or make the Ottoman swords very sharp swords.
No Xanax.
That’s NOT a 67! Has the wrong paint and wrong tail light to be a 67.
I noticed the taillight difference but you seem to know a little bit more about them than I do so what's wrong with paint job thanks for the info I just recently started loving triumph bikes
Muller hair
So what was the wooden race horse game appraised at??
Isle 6 lol
IS THIS A NEW EPISODE. I SWEAR HE PICKED THAT HORSE THING IN A SHOW BEFORE.

Quite the opposite. This is from season 3, which aired in 2012

Some Harley frame with a custom tank.

Just my opinion Frank is insult to show
We all know that
