My brother died in the same exact car(year, make, and model) and it also had some head work done. It was canary yellow. My mom would get so mad at me because I would walk home to go see Mr. Helms.(junkyard owner) so I could see the car. 31 years ago in July. To this day she doesn't understand how much Mr. Helms helped a 8yo kid understand the lost.
Brothers memories are some of the best. I remember all of my brothers cool cars they had in 60's, 70's. 4 older brothers, one of my favorite one's is my Brother Sal & Pete in late 60's, they were in their 20's I was probably 9 or 10, they had stopped by and daring to race on road in front of our house, Sal had a 55 chevy Canary yellow, and Pete a Black 57 chevy, 4 sp 283 cu. My mom didn't want them to, but they did for fun, the 57' won. Great memories. 👍🇺🇸
I was a Buick else love you man but I still love all those hot rod Pontiac Ford Mustang Chevy Camaro and those Mopars I like the more I'll take them all baby from 60s and 70s I love those cars
35 years ago I was restoring a 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1. I went to a garage sale and bought an original Philco AM/FM 8-Track stereo for a buck! It completed the restoration of the Mach 1.
I had a 66 fairlane. Easy to work on. I changed the rear end and transmission when I was 17 yrs old. Didn't have to put it on a computer to find out what was wrong with it. I wish I had known how crappy cars of the future would be. I would have kept it.
Yeah but now that we have those electronic control units people have made electronic controlled versions of those 60s engines perform orders of magnitude better. Google it. Our cars are rightly better just as yours was rightly better than a 1904 Napier.
Cars are actually much better today. Today, getting 100,000 miles on a set of plugs is not unheard-of. No points, condenser. Oil last much longer minus the carbon. Vehicles are far more safer in a collision. But, there's no heart, no style or class like the 60's. Anything 72 back, I'll take. Heck, I'll take an 87 Cutlass, Buick, 89 GN. The 90's had The Cyclone, Typhoon, Impala, Pontiacs.
I actually owned a 1967 Fairlane GT, 4 speed floor shift, convertible in 1973. Couldn't keep it though, as I was two thousand miles from home and had no way to get it there. Mid-dark green paint, matching interior with a white top. Beautiful. Alas. :-(
A 2nd owner (Since 1973) 1967 Ford Fairlane GT for $7k, you stole that car. Old man may have made a profit, but you got an original, unrestored condition (Barn Find) jem. I'd rate this deal as a Win-Win for both of you.
I watch this show and Pawn Stars for the same reasons. Yeah I know its staged but the knowledge and history of all these products are real and fascinating. That's good enough for me.
Exactly, whether someone won or lost on the deal is irrelevant -- it's not our money, so who cares? Seeing all the different people, regional accents, rooms of stuff to search through, old stuff rarely seen anymore ... a lot of interest there.
That's the way I love to find cool muscle cars, original & untouched. Don't matter if it's Ford, Chevy or Dodge/Plymouth, even foreign classics. So exciting.
They consider shipping costs and how long they may have to sit on a vehicle. Sometimes the labor involved isn’t worth the small margins. You can’t get ran over in negotiations, have to be willing to walk.
I had one of those when I was around 20 years old I wish I would have kept all the old classic cars that I had back in the day I could definitely buy a nice house with what they are worth today
I like when frank tries to buy something and the the owner wants more money. So then frank tries to point out everything wrong with the object he’s trying to buy. It’s so funny.
@@Jamzkee84 James.....don't be obstreperous. Do you REALLY think that I would leave an old object of beauty to rust away? Never, I keep her around the house and she occasionally cooks a burger on the BBQ.
Two things, 7,500 for the car and the bike!?, that seemed like a very good deal. And second, any old car loses almost half it's original horsepower, no way has it still got the original amount.
it interests me that while the Fairlane and Falcon names didn't last too long in America, they lasted about 50 years in Australia. In fact, the Falcon was Ford's flagship car in Australia for decades
They didn't even try to start it and the motor is no longer matching. Paint isn't either. That hood was yellow underneath. At the very least it's been replaced. Why? accident? They didn't look under it to see if anything was out of sorts I.E. collision. Rust issues and paint, the motor pull and paint. They'll have 10 to 12k in it anyway. 7k is all it was about worth.
Let's not forget about some of the offensively ugly stuff Chrysler truned out back in the 60's. All a Javilen has to do is be seen in the company of a few of those old Mopar's.
Just an 'S' code VIN, title and drivetrain are worth twice that. Clone from there. I bought up all the 'S' I could find in the '80s and was getting 7 back then. Actually rarer not to be a Mustang...never found a Cougar w/ one.
I watched this episode when it aired on TV the man who sold them the car Mr. Minteer purchased the property from my grandparents and the shed that is behind the motorcycle was my grandpa's along with the pasture behind it.
Yup ! I had a Maroon 67 GTA 4 speed dual exhaust !!! One more of the "ones that I LET get away" ......... If only we had known what they'd be worth .... Actually I've always wished I'd kept the Fairlane or my '68 GTO convertible. AWESOME reliable cars.
Dont matter how long this show will run, these guys will never get boring🤜🏻🤛🏻😎😎😎👍🏻

My condolences I'm sure this little short video of American pickers was bittersweet
Sorry to hear about your loss,,,,😒
I'm a big Chevy guy, but I love those Fairlanes.
It'll be a nice restore.
Same here
Especially 4 speed trans.

7500 was beyond a steal even with the bike
Not when you consider the ten or so grand he's going to have to invest in restoring the interior and exterior.
Original paint? The inside of the hood is yellow?
You're unsure about the color of the hood's inside? Wow.
agree....one look under the hood and see a different color tells me something up
Looks more like someone used spray can to cover the rust . Fades white paint
Rob Heinrichs 7000 for a car he didn’t even look under it
Inside the engine bay isnt yellow so i would say it is original color and the hoods from another car
So he wouldn't pay 500 for the bike? What am i missing?
THE BIKE WAS A NICE PROJECT
Exactly!

Easy to work on unless you had to change the rear spark plugs or the starter on the 390.

How was the lose his cool part ?
Yes.
The title is to get people to watch

"7g is the best I can do... I have to have it framed."
Can you wait a few minutes I know a guy
Mike did a great job stuck to his limit I will always watch american pickers till the day I die
4:28 seconds of video, it’s over, and I’m still waiting for him to lose his cool.
I remember these cars. Very popular with the young drivers. And the room to haul many friends. And no seatbelts. Those were the days my friend.
Thank you History Channel for posting these!
Hi Taco Stacks! Thanks for being a fan of #AmericanPickers! Subscribe so you never miss new American Pickers clips.
Taco stacks is everywhere
When they opened that door that car said, "PLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEASE! GET ME OUT OF HERE AND BACK ON THE ROAD!"
How did the cameraman film the van pulling up from the guys garage, if they just roll up on the property?
We have two different definitions of "Loses his cool"
The guys at the Pawn Shop would have offered him $200 😂
Including the motorcycle
The guys at the pawn shop would have been offering a realistic price at 200 car is a rat Fairlane ford was the bottom of the barrel model
Every episode Mike invents a number of choice new phrases: "We're rolling large, freestylin', just waiting to find a place to rock up on."
I like it when he says Dani D what up lol

The 390 in these were ok, but the rare one was the 427...that is a rare car, especially with the two 4bbls
Did I see rust or bodywork on the rocker panels and rear fender? Wish we could see it once cleaned up.
drwho534 I think the red tape was covering the rust !!! 😄😄😄🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🍺🍺🍺

Another piece of American HX being restored and shipped off to some Saudi princes collection.

Nothing against Robbie, but it just isn't American Pickers without Frank!! Like peanut butter and jelly or bacon and eggs!!

“Treats it like his baby” dust and rust .

Clickbait.
Sweet deal on that piece!
Original paint how come the under hood was yellow not blue
That car is easily worth twice what they paid in that condition.

I'd rather have one of those over a Mustang. Love both cars, but those stacked headlights and the body style just look badazz.
Should’ve take both ! 7500!
Unless the under hood came a different color that wasn't original paint.
It did look original, but the hood was white or yellow.
Mike is full of it withourt frank i dont watch i never thought mike was such a backstabbing hypocrite
I still remember my first car, a 1959 chevy, later in the 1970s my Dodge challenger 1970, four barrel...too bad i dont have those cars. (Great shows )
Smoking hot he said?...😂🤣😅...I don't think so...!
Not original paint the under hood is yellow .
Hood may not be original.
why is it yellow underneath the hood?something ain’t right with that hood and they never asked about it
How staged was that?
you mean the entire show;-)
Very
The entire series!
They were looking for those muscle cars about 15 years ago for a movie in New Mexico
Maybe see if it runs first ?
7gs is a steal on a rare find like that. But u also have to figure in restoration costs.
Too bad Norm didn't realize what his old Fairlane would have brought. $7 grand is a steal on that car there!
I would have loved to see it restored
Whatever it is, it is done deal. Muscle car 1967. Luv muscle car. Original and strong car.
The stacked double headlights made that car
Original paint huh? Dark blue with white paint under hood?
