Great haul I do this often and it works.I stay stocked.. on a disability income..keep doing these hauls I love seeing these..last month based on what I had on hand I spent around $80 for the month and $39 so far for September..
This is a fantastic emergency, temporary food supply for a week. If you make bone broth with the bones and save the rendered fat off the chicken all week, you have a half gallon of free broth and about a cup of free fat to roll over into the next challenge!
Great deal on the chicken. I think potatoes are a great item to have on hand, they can be used every meal in so many ways! I wonder how many ways you can use the dip, maybe add it to chicken and potatoes and bake them?? Mix some with a boiled egg and potatoes to make a potato salad for a side? I have never tried any of these, just thoughts.
We live on that chicken. I buy it 40-50 lbs at a time. I figured out they average 13 leg quarters per bag. Unbelievable price. Thanks for this video! You could make pulled chicken with bbq sandwich, or make bread crumbs out of the bread and have breaded chicken one or two nights. You could make a mini chicken quiche....so many options :). Have you ever done a challenge with a 5 lb bag of flour? That's always interesting to see how far you can stretch the budget when you make bread, homemade pasta, pancakes, muffins....Let's just say it wouldn't be a keto week!
Good video. I love Sav-A-Lot. I divide the Chicken into smaller portions and freeze it. I do not get potatoes at Sav-A-Lot. They have cheap clearance produce. And the aisles have plenty of low cost food options.
Ive seen that amazing deal on chicken at save a lot but can never bring myself to shop there, every save a lot around me is so worn down and there is dirt and grime everywhere its a complete turn off to their food for me ☹ no hate to anyone that has to shop there btw i know we dont all have an aldi near us in walking distance or at all
