I’ve been watching this video over the years since it was first released 11 years ago! It’s one of my favorites and has gotten me to sleep so many times.

Ive watched this hundreds of times now and the ending with the orange peel still feels just as awkward now as it did when I watched this for the first time years ago
@@yungarod1173 I think it’s more for the nice fragrance the orange gives off more than anything, just to give your drink a little more class and aesthetic
@@yungarod1173 very common with fancy drinks, can't see it on camera but when you do that it mists juice and oils onto the rim of the glass which you can taste when taking a sip
I like how classy he looks but why go to the trouble of doing everything unnecessarily flashy? Getting ice requires aggressive stabs with his tong; pouring the alcohol requires not his index and thumb but his index and middle finger; he blends the drinks with a brush? Seriously, just make the fucking drink already and move on.
He holds the measuring cup between his index and middle finger so he doesn't have to put down the cap to the bottle. He blends the drink with a brush that is specially designed for dissolving the powder he put into the drink. Yeah, the ice grabbing was a little over the top, but most of the stuff he does is to make the drink properly / save time.
Danny Heng Except 'mericans invented the cocktail and our craft bartenders don't lick their hands or touch ice with their hands while preparing a drink with Bacardi Superior (aka rubbing alcohol).
Flair adds to the experience for some people. compare it to how some people pay to go to a hibachi restaurant in America, to watch the food be made in front of them. Is it necessary? No. Does it add to the enjoyment for some people? Absolutely.

I have no idea what he does in the end, I am intrigued
He’s expressing the oils from the lemon over top. It adds some citrus mainly to the smell of the cocktail

WHAT WAS THE GREEN STUFF?
I believe it is Matcha powder
Where is this bar?
Ginza, Tokyo.
Excuse me, what the green thing is? It look's like wasabi
I believe it's green tea.
Ahahahahah, thanks!
Joachim Peiper It's maccha (抹茶). Mocha is a coffee beverage prepared with espresso, chocolate, and hot milk.
Now I need an alcoholic drink.
Anyone have a recipe for this?

@Meyrick93 Same I watched this like a hundred times, never understood why he squeeze a orange peel ?

Wtf only 29 comments?
well everyone fall asleep before comment. 😂
Why use bad rum like bacardi for such an artistic thing?
Barcardi is a proven mixer rum, perfect for a rum blend drink like this where you have the earthy bitterness of the matcha with a mixed profile of rum
This is the only drink he knows how to make and needs shoddy ingredients to make it.
well is this thing strong enough to make me drunk?
Dark rum + light rum + brandy. Looks very high ABV to me
matcha + pedro jiménez? That's one weird mix...
I mean if your gonna do something for this long might as well have fun 😅

i mix everything up in a plastic bowl. shake it 2 times. and it probably tastes exactly the same. xD looks nice anyways.

Some 'mericans don't appreciate the beauty of drink making.
