Cruz's questions are tough & fair. Based on her answers, I have no confidence in her ability (or desire) to enforce the law. She could have said something about the Philly DA like "I don't agree with his approach" or "he is clearly violating his oath of office", but that's just wishful thinking on my part. 😪

Jordan Peterson does a great job of answering questions where he doesn’t agree with the premise. these judicial nominees don’t. it would be awesome if we could get nominees who didn’t have to hide their past or current beliefs. but they wouldn’t make good activists, so i get it.

@@Johhny_McMerica i thought about that, which is why i mentioned Jordan Peterson’s ability to respond. people ask bad questions to mischaracterize you. to bait opinions. whether Cruz was looking for answers or not, he was making a point. he wasn’t mischaracterizing her. he asked a question she could have answered without a long non-answer.
if she had a legitimate opinion that was misstated by Cruz, she could have said so. but she didn’t want to confirm or deny what was asked. she could have answered on her own terms, in a way that framed what her real priorities were.
that’s the difference between someone like Peterson and someone like this nominee. You know what Jordan thinks. he is clear and precise and wants to be understood. Cruz may have been playing a political game, and she could have ended it immediately if she wanted to be honest and understood. but she decided it was better to be vague.
jordan is very good at speaking and articulating deep concepts. i don’t mean to say that everyone should be as articulate as a doctor/psychologist/author/celebrity.
what i mean is, there is a way to talk when you are trying to be understood. and there is a way to talk when you are trying to hide what you believe.

Why is it that ANY democratic nominee for anything, can never answer a direct question? Their answers always dance around the question without saying anything. Unlike Amy Coney Barrett or Brett Kavanaugh, just to name two, answered difficult questions directly and factually.
