The amount of times that they'd get him surrounded and one car would just hesitate to block him off in front was crazy, letting him just carry on driving away again. Can't tell if they're trying to extend the chase just for the fun of it
The idea is to avoid further escalation because on the off chance that he evades the block he's gonna be driving a lot more dangerously to avoid the next one putting bystanders at higher risk. Someone get officer pit maneuver here a medal. He's the first cop I've seen actually do something in one of these LA chase streams that wasn't wait until they crash or bail.
... Or drive boringly enough that the cops lose interest
The pit maneuver is banned or frowned upon in many countries because of how dangerous it can be. It’s not worth it in many cases to risk life and property, especially in one of these low risk chases
@@brody7714 Arkansas state troopers think otherwise 😂
If only the other cops would have followed up and actually block the car in. They must have been afraid to ding their cars.
@@TheDHM3007 wellll… the United States is certainly an… interesting country.
I appreciate the LAPD not stopping this car immediately.. They know Charlie needs content and just a tiny chase wouldn't satisfy him nor his audience, so they let him go for a bit. Gentleman your service is greatly appreciated...
Chris keeps it REAL during these high octane chases
14:19 I swear I love it when Charlie starts making goofy remarks while laughing.
I'm so glad Charlie decided to venture into commentary in the police chase competitive scene
was this guy going for the longest run or the slowest chase world record??
@@tobymacdonald5893 both with an attempt in most pit maneuvers countered
With how often this is happening, ESPN should have a separate channel for police chases
Yes but dont give them any recognition after they get caught dont name them or anything
@@TheRealRusDaddy Nah give them they recognition fr
i hope charlie never stops making these videos. they are comedy gold
I like how he had his hazard lights on to let the police know that his tire was flat after they spiked them and he may need to pull over to change it
They have truly turned car thefts into a entrainment thing. The commentary is top notch as well.
That's tour de France commentary
This person really knows how to slow down and enjoy the moment.
So do the police apparently

I love this this chase literally became a parade with throngs of people were coming out onto the sidewalk to wave the suspect on lol
What makes these even better is they get the same guy to narrate all of these. Whoever that guy is he’s a legendary commenter
He's the Evening News guy at ABC7 in LA
@@yeaman3214 shut up it doesn't work
The whippet helped him unlock an anti-pit maneuver perk
These new fangled drugs are something.
There was a top gear episode where James May did basically this exact thing, just driving slowly. It worked remarkably well, too.
This has strong "Luigi wins by doing absolutely nothing" vibes
These car chases are like when you have all the chess pieces somehow continuously failing to checkmate the lone enemy king who has no pieces left.
I was laughing so hard when they kept hitting the car and he was spinning perfectly every time😂
7:35 she tried to use the force.
This guy was seriously committed to the chase, he had to know like an hour earlier he was gunna get caught, he was just doin it for fun by the end
14:15 I bet that one cop was absolutely PISSED
9:58 They absolutely should have had a couple units go around and place spike strips around the area. Like, this is THE most solvable problem.
fr especially since he was going so slow LOL
lmao that 360 at 13:35 was one of the funniest things I've seen this year
I kept dying after the cop bumped into the guy just to make him spin around perfectly to continue slowly running away
i like how the dude doing the pit maneuvers used more force each time, despite the fact that the entire point of the maneuver is minimal force, causing it to just do a full spin and continue lol
that's a lotta damage! -Flex Seal

I kept shouting that he’s hitting him too hard and has no follow through!

i love the lil shots of adrenaline i get every time he keeps going from a 360 pit maneuver

I like how the policeman commentator gives anecdotes and humorous commentary to keep the watchers entertained
Charlie’s laugh to every pit has made my day lol
I grew up in LA and this is not NOW a common occurrence. It happens all the time. I remember when I was a kid and whatever show I was watching would usually get interrupted with breaking news of a live police chase.
I love how Charlie describes it as a Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and it kinda turns into a parade with all those spectators showing up to wave and film
This may be the funniest thing I've seen in a good week or so man what a legend/nuisance but his dedication to running away was so true man what a great sport
Charlie and the commentators genuine love of police chases is beautiful.
this is one of those legendary videos from charlie. almost up there with the plumber trying to fix the sink with water shooting at him. that will always make me laugh
Wait he didnt think to shut off the water before sevicing the pipes? Wtf lmao
@@Shadowswolf9666 if i remember right the renter of the place said they get charged like 100$ each hour the water is shut off(i’m guessing the water ran to different apartments) but they probably lost thousands in water damage 😂 u gotta watch it
@@Shadowswolf9666 AFAIK The landlord refused to shut off the building's water, because they'd get a several hundred dollar fine for each half hour water was not available to the tenants. It was an old building so the water for each apartment could not be shut off independently. The brave plumber tried to do the job anyway, but the several hundred dollar fine was soon eclipsed by the thousands in damage that was caused.
@@chefboiarby304 that brave plumber fought a great fight but the water was too much that day. much respect to him

it's impossible to prosecute, all the lawyers HATE him

14:05 I was DYING when I saw this part bc all I could think of is when you're playing Shadow of War and an Orc suddenly adapts to one of your moves LMAOOOOO he adapted to the pit maneuver
Can we appreciate that this guy was courteous enough to have his flashers on the whole chase 🤣
I'm consistently amazed at the sheer determination and will these guys have, how do you keep going after so many spike traps and pit maneuvers? Don't they know that it's surely futile?
what other choice do you have? if you're gonna get arrested anyway, might as well crank out some last whippets and enjoy the ride
Of course they know they are going to get caught. They are having fun.
Last part of the chase really did made me picture a dying deer trying it’s best to cling to life and crawl away from a pack of wolves.
