If you want to disrespect us, we will push you out the door physically. We are sick of the shit and we have our bosses support so it happens quite often lol I’m not very strong so I just lock myself behind the glass and get security to deal with them but we have a few people working for us that enjoy fighting so they’re always looking for the next rude/crazy person to tussle with 😂
I was at a restaurant in Spain about 15 years ago, and a British couple were in there. They ordered a lavish meal, ate the entire meal then decided they didn't want to pay because it "Wasn't very good". Long story short, the manager of the restaurant ended up punching this man, the Police turned up and told them to pay or they would be arrested. I've always felt that was the best outcome of that situation.
Could be company policy honestly because it was like that at Whataburger where I use to work at. Literally someone ordered a combo, went home then came back and demand a refund or remake all because their fries got cold on the way home. lol We had to do it too. :/
The man in the tow truck is Josyah Brown, 24 Years old, and has been arrested for first- and second-degree assault as well as malicious destruction of property.
I worked retail and food service and I promised myself I would NEVER work in there again. It’s like customers feel they own you. The disrespect is unreal. My hats off to anyone in customer service.
I understand that but why do workers treat customers like trash that often too? Im always polite and stuff and 50% of the time i get to some pissed off worker that treats me bad. How was your experience in how you and your coworkers treated the customers?
@@baadlyrics8705 it's probably a mix of an especially bad day, customers treating them like shit, and the probably factual stigma that 9/10 workers from mainstream food franchise gets no respect whatsoever
@baad lyrics There's what the other guy said, but sometimes there's just someone who's lazy. That kind of work is labor intensive and stressful, so when there gets to be a large number of customers especially during what is usually quiet hours, some employees resent the people who come in and make them work more. I've seen it, I've tried to avoid it.
@@Kjf365 that happens in literally every store that works with the public nobody wants somebody to come in right before you close it sucks for every store not just McDonalds
You get PAID money to spend time at someone else's store, and if you're loss prevention, you get paid to lay hands on people, but you still want to complain? Corporate allows employees to deny service...at a store you don't even own. Maybe show some gratitude. I like how people complain about working in retail but just by working there you have the power to trespass the entire town from your store all because you work there. The fact that corporate LETS you have so much leeway (when they don't have to) shows how much they care about their employees. They don't HAVE to give you the right to deny service you know, especially since it's not even your store. But they still do since they look out for you
UPDATE: Josyah Brown, the assailant in the tow truck plead guilty to second degree assault and malicious destruction of property costing $1000+ and got the maximum penalty possible in Maryland for second degree assault- 10 years in prison. The property damage he got 3 years for but that runs concurrently with the assault sentence. And- on top of that- he was ordered to pay nearly $12k in damages to the restaurant. His life is effectively ruined. Not over a deceased loved one, not over bank fraud, a natural disaster or something as serious as that- but over chicken wings. Nice.
It's justice, but it is honestly so terrible. You feel angry at first that people like him exist. Then, upon learning how this dude's life is ruined because of this event, and you can only feel pity. It's not forgiveness, but it is a quiet pitying of someone in such a pathetic situation.
I've worked four years in fast-food the amount of disrespect you'll get even in the nicest neighborhoods is insane. The idea of being able to tackle a rude customer and break his phone is beautiful❤
It's a tough balance in my opinion, because as a customer when the fast food workers fuck it up they automatically treat you like you're a liar which is infuriating. Don't get mad at me for your fuck up. On the other hand, there's a lot of scammers so I get why they might act that way.

1 month update from a man who lives in the area: The criminal has been caught and put in jail. Justice has been served. The restaurant itself still has heavy damages to the front wall. It's been patched up but it's a temporary fix until they can apply a complete overhaul repair (it's absolutely needed, foundations were destroyed). Might as well toss this in as well: the food there is pretty great. The chicken is delicious and very reasonably priced. It's a real bang for your buck kind of deal. Good sides too, a wide variety of different menu items including desserts. Go spend a dime there when you can and help them out if you're in the area.
As someone who has worked in food and currently works in retail, a lot of people dont treat you as human, they think you're a robot and any slight mistake is unacceptable. Not everyone by any means but enough that the nice ones become memorable and it makes a world of difference.

The real tragedy is the fact that the employee had a baton stashed behind the counter, most likely because this behavior isn't unexpected. Our culture is fucked.
This happened in PG County, Maryland. Saw a bunch of people posting about it on Instagram. The chicken shop is FAMILY OWNED and OPERATED. So the good news is; The employee that fought back is likely not out a job now because he was literally protecting his family business. Sadly though I still don't think they have found the suspect.
If they really haven’t found the subject, events like these make me worry for people’s safety. I mean, the guy smashed the place with a company truck yet they can’t identify or find him? 🤯 (I get it’s probably not as much of a priority as a worse criminal, but then fact he behaved this way is odd and gives the impression he’d probably do it again. When I was 16 I worked at a restaurant diner chain (rhymes with Pennies). I had a lady in her 60s pull a knife on me bc we didn’t have champagne in the Chicken Alfredo. I didn't know Denny's offered Alfredo's. I also didn't know that grannies could attempt to murder youth. Do you know what became of her after that incident?
This made me remember the news story of the man who was shocked that he got arrested because he pulled a gun on a fast food employee because they didn't give him sauce with his food. Apparently, it was unreasonable to arrest him "just because he wanted some sauce" but perfectly reasonable to threaten someone with a gun for the same reason. In my opinion, its because a majority of people dont respect fast food workers. When you see someone as below you, it becomes very easy to lose your temper over something silly
Honestly the fact that people don’t view fast food workers as people is inhuman, and the worse part is that they somehow wasn’t able to find the person, it’s like there’s a bunch of evidence for you, it’s just jumbled up, but you refuse to sort them out and just declare that you can’t find the culprit
thats a pretty big conclusion to jump too saying that they refuse to search for the guy. It's only been two days, he could just be hiding in some random friends apartment.
Easy fix. Have the owner of the restaurant call the owner of that tow truck company, and say “look, since there’s no evidence the truck ‘was’ lent out, or to who, we’ll be working on the assumption that it was one of your people, and was done on company time. So we’ll be sending you the bill for damages.” I bet they’ll find out who borrowed it straight away after that.
I worked at Dominos a few years back, on one delivery a customer called back the store and insisted his order was wrong and he wanted wings as well, after arguing over the phone with the manager for a few minutes he says he’s gonna come to the store and fight the manager. 30 minutes later the guy actually comes, and he tries to fight the manager, someone ended up calling the cops and the guy went to jail. So he spent the night in jail over some chicken wings. Ridiculous
Also will lose his job... And will have to pay for the phone... Sadly smashing the phone will cost him... Don't be stupid this dude is a victim who turned into a criminal as soon as he smashed the phone
These incidents are just a trigger of a deeper psychosis. No normal human being is going to go postal over chicken wings or mayo. These individuals were disturbed before they walked into the place. Having said that, I think fast food workers should get hazard pay.

This is part of the reason why I left customer service and started working in a factory where I don’t have to talk to people. There’s a lot of crazies out there and I was beginning to feel unsafe.

Used to work at Whataburger for a while. The level of entitlement and stupidity some people display was baffling to me. I had a guy freak out and throw his change at the checkout drive-through window because he was 2 cents short to get more ranch. TWO CENTS. I've been insulted and once a girl and her mom started filming me for some tiktok trend. Aside from, y'know, keeping in mind we're not corporate and are doing the jobs we were given to the best of our abilities considering how short-staffed we were, it's incredible how people lack so much self-awareness that they act like a spoiled toddler throwing a tantrum. Only thing that kept me going throughout those days was when people were kind and understanding. You can ask for things to be redone or say something's wrong. You just don't have to be an asshole abt it
That's what happens when you work in the service industry. You are literally a servant to those people. They don't lack self-awareness either. They know exactly what they're doing. It's just that our society doesn't punish their behavior, and to an extent even glorifies it.
