- Building the front corners
The question is to buy or build, I chose build. Building an overland pop-up truck camper or a pickup pop up as I like to call it. The plan is to have it act like a wedge camper as well as a full pop up. Not doing the vanlife or trucklife so the camper needs to be able to come on and off. It also needs come apart to store in a small space.
More info will be here:

List of all dimensions and materials coming later with the same link
If you need a link to anything about the build, just leave a comment and I will get it added.

5:50 I suggest an end mill next time
Ah! I didn't even think about that. Great idea. Thanks!
@@CampProjectCom was going to say the same thing. Enjoying the series.
Troy, i’m impressed with your very precise engineering of the project and the overall quality-look of the finished product. How will you tackle the canvas roof sides?
Planning to do a hard side pop-up. Possibly a hybrid of hardtop and soft top. Still trying to figure that out.
That is what I am doing on the Jeep Gladiator. Thanks very much for guiding the way. I have been impressed with your attention to detail… What about the canvas aspect? Your one side up- one side down is an interesting idea…
3:01 Great videos. Do I see rust on your bolts? I'm in the salt belt of Southern Ontario - stainless seems like it would be best
I was hoping nobody would noticed. Yup, I used alloy steel with a black oxide finish which was a bad choice for outdoor use. I have replaced the majority but still a few to go. Only had to drill out a couple of them.
Can you custom a full size bed 8Ft?
GMC Sierra?
I think I might be pushing the 8020 10 series to the limit. I have been wondering myself if it would work for a larger truck. I am debating if it makes sense to move up to the 15 series for anything bigger than a small or mid size.
