Man I’m blessed I’ve gotten to see queensryche and Geoff Tate over 6 times as a 24 year old. There will never be a band that will ever make songs like them ever again. Just masters at craft
They have made 3 albums with Todd. Working on a 4th. They are great! Saw the band live a few days ago with Priest. The only bad thing about Queensryche that night was they didn’t play long enough. Enjoy the music and thanks for posting this video for all of us to enjoy! God bless!

About 2 yrs ago, on an original QR video, a tuber criticized another for saying this new band was better ! The other replied that QR would never be worthy without Geoff Tate ! ...I hadn't heard this new band, & I agreed that without Tate, I have no interest.... I NOW SEE THE LIGHT !!! I REPENT & ASK FORGIVENESS !! ... I don't know who that guy was, ... but if it was you, I WAS WRONG !! These guys are a Blessing !... If more bands are resurrected, We'll never have to leave the 80's-90's !! I'm still here !! God Bless Us all Headbangers !!
I lost interest in Qryche after DeGarmo left and never gave them a chance without Tate or Rockenfeld until now but Damn these guys are pretty good. I got some catching up to do.
Promised Land was a big disappointment to me and DeGarmo was still there. I guess by that time he had one foot out the door. Their next few albums were flat lifeless crap. Scott Rockenfield is replaced by Casey Grillo from the band Kamelot. The guy is no slouch. So now, I too, am curious.
YEAH MAN...UNFORTUNATELY there will ALWAYS be those that think Todd is nothing more than a "" Geoff wanna be ",and that they suck now ... FUCK THEM...I have seen them since '84 over 4 dozen times and TODD is fucking GREAT.. AS IS THIS LINE UP.

Obviously DeGarmo's songwriting is the best thing about Queensryche ever, full stop... but it's got to be said, Parker doesn't put a foot wrong in this performance
Never known this band to be underrated. Anyone who knows and has been a long haul fan will know they get all the credit they deserve. Taking on the lead vocal role after Geoff Tate takes a supreme talent and bags of confidence as well. So, I don’t believe they’re underrated, perhaps under appreciated to a degree. Nevertheless they keep delivering the goods time after time.
I know there are backing vocals being pumped in.... AND I DON'T CARE... this sounds amazing. The root of this is splendid. Such a wonderful band who know a big space and how to fill it. Professional. I love this.
You need DeGarmo for that. He was as important here as Michael Anthony on Van Halen or Van Haggar better to play a track than have shitty backing vocals.
Drummer Casey Grillo is awesome my band played with his other band Kamelot about 9 yrs ago or so cool he ended up here. Todd sounds amazing the whole band sounds amazing what a bad ass set and as a bass player shout out to Eddie for always killing it I play Spector basses because of him
Being a fan from this bands earliest releases, I'm very impressed with this singer's ability to match the original vocals. Enjoyed listening to those older songs and look forward to future releases.
Holy smokes, I had no idea Casey was with the Ryche. He was amazing with Kamelot and a huge part of their sound and success. The "Kamelot style" of drumming is much more up front and physically demanding than Queensryche, and after enduring many years of that punishment he deserves a change. I wish him all the best with the new band. Queensryche as a "new band" does a great job, especially with the vocals (Geoff's range and quality was almost inhuman).
You wanna know what the friggin difference is 😀 These guys LOVE HEAVY METAL it shows 😀😀 In the last several years can you truly say Geoff Tate loves Heavy Metal .The answer is NO. I'm a 58 year old QR fan from day 1😀😀 I love them so much 😀😀UP THE IRONS
But you have to remember Geoffrey wrote and sang the lyrics and melody lines to a big proportion of these songs.on an overall scale I’m not underscoring this current singer, but Geoffrey had a lot more style and intonation and then there’s lyrical contributions.This current singer is mind boggling, That first e.p. goes down in history as a bonified classic molded in Rock n Roll history!!!
When Tate/Queenryche parted ways, it seemed that they could not recover because Tate is unique and an amazing vocalist but the arrival of La Torre was the salvation. He is different to Tate but has the same incredible vocal range and manages to make the songs sound the same as when Tate sang them. The feel remains the same. Queensryche have always stood out, whether they get the recognition they deserve or not - they are so imaginative and so thoughtful. Few touch them for originality.
Oh wow. I've seen the new lineup a couple of times and Todd has always sounded good but never THIS good. It's seriously impressive how strong he sounds with that band now.

The enthusiasm was enough ... it's more important to have on stage honest and sincere guys than some freaks who are overreacting just because they know a "normal" crowd expects visual entertainment. It sounds like "selling yourself" which I totally hate...How ridiculous are those bands who are rushing on stage like pitbulls and they fail to "energize" the crowd with their live fitness lesson .. a little decency is to be appreciated
Hard core Queensryche fan here from the old days when the guys were all together, mostly up through Here in the Now Frontier, then I was kind of done. I never gave them a chance after Chris and then Geoff left. I must say, this version, first time I've heard them, I am thoroughly impressed! Not the originals I know, but, still, they sound really, really good. I love Todd's voice! Watch/listen to the whole thing, I think you'll like it. I'll have to check them out live if/when they come to a town near me :) Rock on friends!
Great Eddie Jackson backing vocals! Queensrÿche had been dead for many years... Todd has been helping the band and giving it the opportunity to survive for the next 5 or 10 years. BTW, very good drummer, too!
Todd did an admirable job on Take Hold of the Flame...I wasn't expecting much but he did it. Geoff Tate is no easy one to follow but Todd made me a fan today. Well done...
That song was okay, but he sounded kind of rough and the big note at the beginning was off. Not remotely as good as Geoff in his prime, but this guy is a lot older than Geoff was back then as well, so can't expect him to be spot-on to what a legend could do in his younger days. He's closer to it now than Geoff is today, that's for sure.
Fantastic, devastating live performance. Great video. This modern version of Queensryche delivers their classics with accuracy and precision. Yes, we all want Geoff Tate, but you cant take anything away from Todd La Torre. He hits all the high notes, but with a good deal of strain.
Todd is still a long-time cigarette smoker, I believe. That never helps the voice over time. Tate hasn’t been able to hit those notes since the mid ‘90’s.
When I first saw Queensryche with the new members I thought they wouldn't be able to pull it off, but they've done a lot more than that, they mastered it! Micheal Wilton plays his guitar like it's part of him. I love you guys, you are one of my favorite bands!
It's always hard trying to accept replacement singers. He clearly has a verrrrry similar tone and timbre to Tate and he's working so hard to try and sound EXACTLY like him (as opposed to a guy like Kelly Hansen, who sounds very similar to Lou Graham but makes it look effortless and natural). It's kind of off-putting at first. However, that being said..... he fucking nails it. He really pays respect to the material. So it does provide a chance to see the band live and enjoy their catalog.
They really are sounding GREAT!!!! This lineup is Killing it!!!! Have seen them on MORC a couple times and they are fantastic! Seen them a couple times with Tate and DeGarmo and there is no difference.
One of the greatest Metal bands of all time. The first three albums - Warning, Rage for Order and Operation: Mindcrime - are masterpieces of the progressive metal they heavily influenced since then. The new singer does a very good job, but Geoff Tate is unbeatable at the pretty high notes !

Much respect to Todd for taking all the heat he has taken like a professional. No he's not Tate....but neither is Tate any longer. Todd deserves respect for his accomplishments with the band and I for one am happy with what he does and happy to still have bands like this still around.
I agree, but does anyone else detect far less energy from these performances? Maybe this particular performance is in front of a super lame crowd, but still I’ve seen them 5 times with Tate and the energy level is much different.
Maybe they could be a little more enthusiastic, but still a good performance. And wow, Todd is it? Did an amazing job taking on such a frontman position. Much respect Todd. I didn’t think anyone would come close either.
Sorry, but I don’t like the band without Geoff Tate on Lead Vocals! Todd LaTorre does an adequate job filling in but, he’s not Geoff Tate! They selected Todd obviously because he sounds a lot like Geoff! The original Queensryche was absolutely the Best Lineup Period! Sad that the band had a falling out and parted ways with Geoff! Queensryche hasn't sounded this strong since the very early 90's. Hum...DeGarmo has been gone for..um...ever. So that ship sailed a LONG time ago folks. No Tate? Well...nope he's gone. It happens and Todd is a tremendous singer. Does he sound like Geoff..at times? Of Course....they want to play their older material..you know ..the stuff Tate stopped singing a decade ago..and Todd does an outstanding job with that material. If you haven't listened to the three studio albums with Todd..that is your problem. Doesn't mean you will or won't like them..that comes down to personal taste..but at least listen to them before you say everything is crap. I have been there from the beginning and LOVE Geoff Tate. One of the great voices of the era..but he is GONE. So instead of the band dying with him leaving...they are out playing..and killing it in the process.
And by band you mean two original members, right? Yeah, no- they are a really good tribute band- that's all. DeGarmo was the genius behind the whole thing. It's no surprise it all fell apart after he left. Tate's ego and overreaching ideas were just really, really bad. That Promised Land stuff was awful, and he just hasn't gotten over the fact that he can't sing, and is playing tinier and tinier venues every year. And yes, I've listened to their newer records. The magic is long, long gone. There's plenty of other music to listen to rather than listen to something that is less than genuine in its approach. These washed up bands don't deserve loyalty from anyone. They had their 15 minutes, they failed to be able to extend it. DeGarmo knew when it was time to leave, and you know he doesn't look back.
This band was firing on all cylinders when they went on first to Twisted Sister in 83 they had just been signed to E.M.I. Records and had their brilliant 4 song E.P. Rereleased.

Impressive but honestly, it’s mostly a cover band. Todd did an admirable job trying to match Geoff, he has pipes but I have never heard anyone that could out sing Tate. Give me a concert with Degarmo and Tate and I’ll be there in a hot minute…those two were Queensryche

I'm very impressed! Absolutely amazing performance! Even without Geoff, Chriss and Scott. Todd is great! I know Grillo from Kamelot, also a great drummer. Queen of the Reich is still alive!
Todd can sing 100% and they sound great. But Tate Wrote all this stuff and was the GUY who originally created it and sang it. He was the KING when was YOUNG and in his Prime. He is 60, you can't expect him to sing like when he was in his 20's and 30's. ONLY 2 Original Members in Band..............SAD. But glad they are keeping it alive. Love Queensryche, but just strange to not have the Band or Most of it. Wish they could have got along and wish DeGarmo was here too,. Was Tate that much of an ass? He seems pretty nice but who knows? G. Tate sounds good in 2021 for being 60. Just watched a Concert.

Todd can def sing and hit the notes, but his diction in singing live sucks. Geoff in his prime always had the clarity, power and emotion. Todd’s got the notes but the words get kinda blurred. Not a bad singer but he could work on some things.
I never thought in a million years that I would be able to listen to QR with a different vocalist. Thank god that they sound amazing with this dude. Awesome show !!!
I had my doubts early on but not anymore. I love the new stuff and I love how the new singer takes it back to the Geoff Tate style vocals for the older stuff.
Damn near flawless performance. So glad this band is still recording and touring today. Every bit as good with the new guys as with the original line-up.
I'm sorry but the band sounds like a cover band for Queensryche. There is no one that can sing as high Geoff. There are many that have tried and can't. And sing day in and out with a voice like Geoff's.

One of the best bands on that weekend. Such a shame one of the guitars cut out in Jet City Woman otherwise it would have been a flawless performance.

Hard core Queensryche fan here from the old days when the guys were all together, mostly up through Here in the Now Frontier, then I was kind of done. I never gave them a chance after Chris and then Geoff left. I must say, this version, first time I've heard them, I am thoroughly impressed! Not the originals I know, but, still, they sound really, really good. I love Todd's voice! Watch/listen to the whole thing, I think you'll like it. I'll have to check them out live if/when they come to a town near me :) Rock on friends!

Great Eddie Jackson backing vocals! Queensrÿche had been dead for many years... Todd has been helping the band and giving it the opportunity to survive for the next 5 or 10 years. BTW, very good drummer, too!

Todd did an admirable job on Take Hold of the Flame...I wasn't expecting much but he did it. Geoff Tate is no easy one to follow but Todd made me a fan today. Well done...

That song was okay, but he sounded kind of rough and the big note at the beginning was off. Not remotely as good as Geoff in his prime, but this guy is a lot older than Geoff was back then as well, so can't expect him to be spot-on to what a legend could do in his younger days. He's closer to it now than Geoff is today, that's for sure.
Fantastic, devastating live performance. Great video. This modern version of Queensryche delivers their classics with accuracy and precision.
Yes, we all want Geoff Tate, but you cant take anything away from Todd La Torre. He hits all the high notes, but with a good deal of strain.
Todd is still a long-time cigarette smoker, I believe. That never helps the voice over time. Tate hasn’t been able to hit those notes since the mid ‘90’s.

When I first saw Queensryche with the new members I thought they wouldn't be able to pull it off, but they've done a lot more than that, they mastered it! Micheal Wilton plays his guitar like it's part of him. I love you guys, you are one of my favorite bands!

It's always hard trying to accept replacement singers. He clearly has a verrrrry similar tone and timbre to Tate and he's working so hard to try and sound EXACTLY like him (as opposed to a guy like Kelly Hansen, who sounds very similar to Lou Graham but makes it look effortless and natural).
It's kind of off-putting at first. However, that being said..... he fucking nails it. He really pays respect to the material. So it does provide a chance to see the band live and enjoy their catalog.

They really are sounding GREAT!!!! This lineup is Killing it!!!! Have seen them on MORC a couple times and they are fantastic! Seen them a couple times with Tate and DeGarmo and there is no difference.

One of the greatest Metal bands of all time. The first three albums - Warning, Rage for Order and Operation: Mindcrime - are masterpieces of the progressive metal they heavily influenced since then. The new singer does a very good job, but Geoff Tate is unbeatable at the pretty high notes !
The 1983 self title EP is part of that catalog as well.
Ever since I heard Warning in '84, QR has had me. Great songs, great people, in a shitty world, makes life worthwhile.

Much respect to Todd for taking all the heat he has taken like a professional. No he's not Tate....but neither is Tate any longer. Todd deserves respect for his accomplishments with the band and I for one am happy with what he does and happy to still have bands like this still around.
I agree, but does anyone else detect far less energy from these performances? Maybe this particular performance is in front of a super lame crowd, but still I’ve seen them 5 times with Tate and the energy level is much different.
Tate is 62 years old and not 46 yeara old like Todd, that's not a fair comparison.
Maybe they could be a little more enthusiastic, but still a good performance. And wow, Todd is it? Did an amazing job taking on such a frontman position. Much respect Todd. I didn’t think anyone would come close either.

Sorry, but I don’t like the band without Geoff Tate on Lead Vocals! Todd LaTorre does an adequate job filling in but, he’s not Geoff Tate! They selected Todd obviously because he sounds a lot like Geoff! The original Queensryche was absolutely the Best Lineup Period! Sad that the band had a falling out and parted ways with Geoff! They will never be the same in my opinion!
IMHO Casey Grillo is at least as good a drummer as Scott Rockenfeld. I am not trying to hate b/c I grew up with original QR and love both versions of the band....but this guy just BRINGS IT

Queensryche hasn't sounded this strong since the very early 90's. Hum...DeGarmo has been gone for..um...ever. So that ship sailed a LONG time ago folks. No Tate? Well...nope he's gone. It happens and Todd is a tremendous singer. Does he sound like Geoff..at times? Of Course....they want to play their older material..you know ..the stuff Tate stopped singing a decade ago..and Todd does an outstanding job with that material.
If you haven't listened to the three studio albums with Todd..that is your problem. Doesn't mean you will or won't like them..that comes down to personal taste..but at least listen to them before you say everything is crap.
I have been there from the beginning and LOVE Geoff Tate. One of the great voices of the era..but he is GONE. So instead of the band dying with him leaving...they are out playing..and killing it in the process.
And by band you mean two original members, right? Yeah, no- they are a really good tribute band- that's all. DeGarmo was the genius behind the whole thing. It's no surprise it all fell apart after he left. Tate's ego and overreaching ideas were just really, really bad. That Promised Land stuff was awful, and he just hasn't gotten over the fact that he can't sing, and is playing tinier and tinier venues every year.
And yes, I've listened to their newer records. The magic is long, long gone. There's plenty of other music to listen to rather than listen to something that is less than genuine in its approach. These washed up bands don't deserve loyalty from anyone. They had their 15 minutes, they failed to be able to extend it. DeGarmo knew when it was time to leave, and you know he doesn't look back.

This band was firing on all cylinders when they went on first to Twisted Sister in 83 they had just been signed to E.M.I. Records and had their brilliant 4 song E.P. Rereleased.

Impressive but honestly, it’s mostly a cover band. Todd did an admirable job trying to match Geoff, he has pipes but I have never heard anyone that could out sing Tate. Give me a concert with Degarmo and Tate and I’ll be there in a hot minute…those two were Queensryche

I'm very impressed! Absolutely amazing performance! Even without Geoff, Chriss and Scott. Todd is great! I know Grillo from Kamelot, also a great drummer. Queen of the Reich is still alive!
Todd can sing 100% and they sound great. But Tate Wrote all this stuff and was the GUY who originally created it and sang it. He was the KING when was YOUNG and in his Prime. He is 60, you can't expect him to sing like when he was in his 20's and 30's. ONLY 2 Original Members in Band..............SAD. But glad they are keeping it alive. Love Queensryche, but just strange to not have the Band or Most of it. Wish they could have got along and wish DeGarmo was here too,. Was Tate that much of an ass? He seems pretty nice but who knows? G. Tate sounds good in 2021 for being 60. Just watched a Concert.

Todd can def sing and hit the notes, but his diction in singing live sucks. Geoff in his prime always had the clarity, power and emotion. Todd’s got the notes but the words get kinda blurred. Not a bad singer but he could work on some things.

I'm sorry but the band sounds like a cover band for Queensryche. There is no one that can sing as high Geoff. There are many that have tried and can't. And sing day in and out with a voice like Geoff's.
Todd sounds absolutely amazing and sings the classics live even more close to the original than Tate himself. Awesome performance! \m/
