Inertia Creeps - Gretsch Brooklyn Drum Kit

Massive Attack - Inertia Creeps. Gretsch Full Range 10” Blackhawk Mini Snare Drum (snares off). Practicing to an Inertia Creeps loop I made. I was at one point going to try and replicate the drum sound from this song but I soon realised that it would be flipping impossible for me. I can't decide what I'm more excited about, the glorious tone of those toms or the satin ice blue metallic finish. Great job!

@@GlennWilsonDrums I liked it too, until it cracked from the cold weather here in Canada (on the first gig!) Thankfully, Gretsch took it back and recovered it in Gold Glass Glitter for me.

Really great Glenn. Great track and playing. Very interesting and reminded me of some the Genesis and Phil Collins work and sounds. Showed off your tuning expertise as always... and that great Brooklyn kit you recently acquired. Would be very interested to get your thoughts on your new gretsch additions and how they compare for you to your Yamaha equipment. Thanks

Hey thanks man. Yeah, really different sound. There is sort of an attack to these I have really fallen in love with. They also have a very distinct pitch bend tone if you tune the reso heads higher. Still early days but I hope to talk about it more when I’ve spent some time with them 👍

Thanks man! 🙏 The snare has a dbx at 50% mix. 4:1 with the threshold around 12 o’clock. Room is smashed and so is the dirt mic. Toms and overs are clean 👍
