Adventure Time is a classic cartoon on cartoon network and the like, creating a weird adult like energy to animation that wasn't there before. Like Regular Show, Finn the Human and Jake the dog along with Princess Bubblegum, Marceline, and ice king have weird adventures in the land of oo. You might dislike it, but the fact that Cartoon Network had the boingaloins to make a character as iconic as Finn go through puberty is something I respect the living HELL out of Adventure Time
Yeah, letting him screw up with lasting consequences was a brave choice and made the world a bit more real and impactful on the audience in turn, kind of like how Jake's kids would be shown older and with their own lives.
It was really nice having Gumball, adventure time and regular show growing up.
Since it showed perspectives from childhood (GB and Darwin) to teenage years (Finn) and all the way to young adults (mordo and rigbs).

I still say Mordecai fumbled the bag way harder. Dude literally upstaged his friends wedding to make it about his relationship drama.

People keep saying Finn is like Mordecai, but Finn always had courage to act on his feelings, even when he was a little boy who didn't really understand and thought heroes fight for the princess and eventually earn her hand.
He also like. Changed for the better.
Mordecai had some issues but even considering the age difference, he did nothing as bad as using his gf’s secrets just to get off sexually

Turns out, Finn was the biggest loser. And it took him a while to really understand why.
I liked Finn and Flame Princess for a while, but it was 100% not meant to last.
There was a clear power imbalance in the fact that FP was locked up for her whole life and Finn was her first thing.
Also, yeah, the manipulative tendencies in Finn didn’t come out of nowhere, he displayed those in numerous past episodes.
This is when those tendencies finally blow up in his face.
Lol, Finn was written this way. It was at this time that Pendleton Ward handed off show runner duties, and the new people in charge wanted to take Finn down a peg.
I wonder how Joshua and Margaret would’ve handled how Finn was acting in Frost and Fire.
Also imagine if they had done an episode where Ice King tried to kidnap Flame Princess only for it to go wrong since you know… fire…

Bonnie and Marcy get to bond a little, while Finn burns his first relationship to ashes. Adventure Time giveth, and Adventure Time taketh away.
Oh, hey, the episode in which protagonist actually fucks up and fundamentally changes his relationship for rest of the show.
I waited for that episode specifically to say that kids show managed to do relationship break and making protagonist flawed way better than Invincible show.
It took a year. Or two.
If I remember correctly, Finn didn't really understand just how bad he donk'd up in that episode until after he'd spent some time with his dad. Of course he'd apologized way before that- but it didn't come with understanding until later.
Y'know, "Frost and Fire" was one of my favorite Adventure Time episodes as a kid, but I never understood Finn's dreams. I was more so confused and weirded out.
But, holy crap, it makes SO MUCH MORE sense now as an adult.
Bonnibel has been huffing Marceline's rocker sweat for possibly centuries.
The Vault is one of my favorites, definitely in the top 15 at least. It’s a really interesting story with a great new character and some very well-done pathos for Bubblegum. Frost and Fire and its follow-ups are very interesting to me. Sometimes, they’re wonderful (Dungeon Train), eh (Love Games) or the Red Throne (Bad). Despite how cringy the episodes come across, they are very important to Finn’s arc and was the show taking its first true steps into emotional maturity. Philosophical AT has finally joined the party, so to say.
It was the point at which AT became not fun. Golden Age AT was everything before this, and after this it was just drama for the ladies.
@@shorewall completely disagree. There are still tons of brilliant fun/silly episodes left, examples being stuff like Mama Said, Walnuts & Rain, Bad Jubies, etc. Sure, the show got more emotionally mature but it didn’t leave behind its original identity and the expansion of the world beyond Finn and Jake was well-thought out and made the stories feel more real.

Adventure time is an underrated show
It dominated the industry for a decade, launched the careers of several animators and made the network millions in merchandising. It literally can't be rated any higher.
@@MisterCynic18it was kinda overshadowed by Steven Universe in the later years, there was so much content about SU everywhere while the only one covering AT was uncivilized elk i think.
Thankfully now that SU had like 3 bad endings and AT had a good ending, distant lands and fionna & cake, things seem to shifting back.
