That's funny, I was screwing around on this program for the first time today, just trying to figure it out for a bit. (it's fun to experience it with no knowledge for at least a little bit). So I made a little map just like that, and did all kinds of experiments with it. Now after about 24 hours, I have 3 different monster spawning zones with 3 different encounter tables, multiple sets of different monsters (at least 3) per zone of varying difficulty. 3 NPCs, and a custom character. 1st NPC was a boss minotaur that challenges you to fight some of his crappy minions, and if you say yes, he gives you a random encounter. If you say no, he attacks you with some backup flame imps. If you kill him, he disappears and laments his demise. 2nd NPC was Hello Bear. He was a bear that randomly wanders around the map and if you talk to him he says Hello. If you keep talking to him he roars and gives you a free potion. After getting 4 potions, if you try again, he warns you (by name) to not get greedy or he'll eat you. If you keep pestering him 2 or 3 more times, you have to fight him as a hidden boss. He is really tough and drops potions, gold and a lot of exp if you kill him. 3rd NPC was a rogue shopkeeper that I crafted myself from the character editor, and made him into a weapons shop, where you can sell stuff. He only appears if you gather some gems that I created in the item registry that are just valuable and do nothing. I then made a bunch of different weapons, armors, classes, and items.. lost all of that due to a crash, redid a bunch of it for many hours, and then screwed around trying to install my 25 or so DLCs.... then I downloaded some more... then I realized if I don't organize them now, I never ever will. It is just a single map, but I screwed around on it a lot. Oh, I even made custom skills, attacks, and buffs/debuffs like Stun, Bleed, Burn, Guard Break, Poison Sting, Poison Spell, Fire AOE magic, attack and speed buffs, a 5 hit omni-slash attack, and etc. And a bunch of custom consumable items and weapons/armor pieces. Did you know you can add stuff like Pants, Shoes, and accessory #2 as options for your character? It's kind of a pain with the preset characters, but probably shouldn't use those anyway. I even spent literal hours figuring out how the animations work and making my own custom skill animation. I took a arrow animation from the special arrow skill and made it green and then added a purple poison animation plus sound effects and ended up with a Poison Sting animation. That was an ordeal, not gonna lie. I wish someone had told me that each single tile of animation counts as a pattern number, and they number from left to right from 1 to like 99 or so and then cut off when you run out of them, and then the second animation starts over at pattern 100 and goes from there. SUPER CONFUSING. Also the targeting thing is not intuitive at all and the entire animation section is a major pain to use. I had to animate existing animations frame by frame just to get it to work. But I did get it eventually. Also I'm shocked that I couldn't find a single bite animation. That seems like a no brainer for like 80% of beast like monsters. So yeah.. had a lot of fun.. that was only like 2 days or so. Now I'm tired and watching tutorials so I can laugh at my stupid mistakes.
You're good, man. Usually people who create these tutorials are boring and incomprehensible. You, though, speak cleanly and are also funny. Looking forward to watch your next videos.
Just wanted to say thanks for making this series of videos. I brought RPG Maker MV a few weeks ago, didn't really know where to start. These tutorials helped me get started and make something playable. Thanks! :)

I'm still laughing thinking about how loading a new game will just take a few years. I look forward to the rest of your tutorial xD.

I messed around with a few programs over the years and after many failed attempts almost gave up. Then i found this guide and damn you made it look so easy I brought the program and after 4 hours have a small village and the setting for my game. Great stuff. I really hope to see this through and hopefully one day will post a link to my game here :)
aw man - for sure. your tutorials are by far the easiest to understand and some of the ways you solve problems are so much better than other really long winded ones eg password doors - yah I just learned that. Looked at 3 other peoples tutorials before yours and i was like OMG it's that easy..... You are so getting easter egged into my game haha
I'm glad I found these tutorials, last time I played an RPG maker game it was the very first one on the ps2, and that had two manuals 30 pages thick each... so playing the newer bigger version full of more stuff without any manuals seemed impossible!

I picked this up a few days on a Steam sale. Thanks for creating such a great tutorial series.
Just wanted to say thanks for making this series of videos. I brought RPG Maker MV a few weeks ago, didn't really know where to start. These tutorials helped me get started and make something playable. Thanks! :)
That was great, man. I'm a brand new user of the software, found this vid via a random google search and you rocked it. Thanks for being both educational and entertaining. On to watch the rest now!
Man this is the first video that i watch and i already love this channel
Nice work. You explained this so simply that my kids ages 7, 9 and 13 have started making games.
Finally! A funny entertaining tutorial that doesn’t put the comedy in the way of the education and ruin the experience! Good job!
I just got this game on switch and I'm super excited to start, so I'm watching this tutorial series from 5 years ago.
I love your personality so much omg
1 minute and 35 seconds in, I can tell I'm going to be seriously _hooked_ on this series
You’re so funny!! Haha. That made this video fun
Holy crap your sense of humor is beautiful. This is an awkwardly hilarious tutorial, which makes it the best tutorial I have ever seen (not even joking, most tutorials are so boring they make me die a little more inside). I'm still laughing thinking about how loading a new game will just take a few years. I look forward to the rest of your tutorial xD.
This tutorials helped me a lot when started in RPGMaker!
Now i'm making music for games, everyone invited to listen.
Hahaha! I LOVE YOUR TUTORIAL - I wish there was a laughing emoji I could react with, not because its got any issues, this actually is making me feel more comfortable with the program but just because you made me crack up so many times. So great 🤣
Thank you a lot for making these tutorials. Your tutorials are definitely the best ones I could find online. I bought RPG Maker MV very recently and I couldn't find a good tutorial to help me start using it.
All of these tutorials have been EXTREMELY helpful! Thank you very much for making them!
Oh thank god, a tutorial with some frickin personality
1 minute in and I'm already subscribing for the enthusiasm
Starting here, going to make a game for my band :) thanks, bought rpg maker because of this!!
Worked with RPG Maker in high school like 5 or 6 years ago so definitely need a refresher. Thanks!
Wish i could sub and up-vote more than once, keep up the great work, humor is a great touch to an already great series!
You're like modern SkyDoesMinecraft!!! 🤩🤩🤩
This is best tutorial ever, easy to understand with a hint of comedy. Love it!
This is way better then all other tutorials i've found, I'm pretty young and I was able to understand it :) Subscribed!
You do a great job of making these tutorials entertaining to watch! Keep it up.
I literally subscribed because this guy tells it how it is. I came for a tutorial, i left a subscriber
"It's gonna take a couple of years, but we're eventually gonna get there."
Honestly wish they gave you the choice to make a blank project ngl.
Quarantine. Gotta learn this.
I've been looking for a decent RPG maker for ages... This is exactly what I'm looking for.
it just makes me happy to watch your video and listen to your voice :D your vibes are awesome!
Bought this awhile back, felt pretty overwhelmed but thank god i found your videos.
Thanks for making your videos with enthusiasm! These other tutorials put me to sleep lol. Again greatly appreciated and I look forward to watching the rest of your tutorials.
lol you're really funny. You seem like a cool youtuber, keep up the good work!
This is chaos and hella informational
You're a super cool, genuine guy. I like ya, man.
This tutorial is the best tutorial i have ever seen
I think this guy started life as an Interdimensional TV sketch
yo just got rpg maker mv and these videos are a life saver thanks
Greatly enjoyed the tutorial. Most youtube tutorials sound like the guy would rather be doing anything else. You actually sound excited
This is so cool! I love your tutorials ♥️♥️♥️
I just want to thank you for being so easy to understand and funny to listen to! I just moved to RPG Maker from Tyranno Builder so I need a lot to learn! Thank you so much and keep up the good work!
amazing guide, amazing game, amazing program, your voice and overal presentation of this program is... amazing, im not only looking for buying this game next payday but also hearing more of your guides ^^
This is the most entertaining tutorial i have ever watched
Gonna get the switch version today! This was great
Hey man this guide is Tops - I've really wanted to make my own RPG for like forever, ever since I first played The Secret of Mana.
I'm glad I found these tutorials, last time I played an RPG maker game it was the very first one on the ps2, and that had two manuals 30 pages thick each... so playing the newer bigger version full of more stuff without any manuals seemed impossible!
is this tutorial still useful? i mean is it still compatible with the latest version of rpg maker mv?
Oh my god, two minutes in and I already love this tutorial. It sounds so FUN! It totally helps decrease the scary making-a-game-requires-scary-programming vibes, thank you!
Dude you are so funny, definitely gonna watch the tutorial till the end!
