Just a helpful note: I read somewhere (or maybe it was a video) that if the underside of the crab has rusty-looking markings it means that the crab is fulll of meat. Very true from my latest experience (today). I never noticed that before, but it is very true! Happy Crabbing to all ! Thanks to Thandastones for their inspirations !

You would have caught more if Christian wore his Giants hat. I liked the Pork Buns though, but I prefer the Baked ones. But, I haven’t found any Baked Pork Buns anywhere but Chinatown.
Ha!Ha! I didn’t wear it because of the rain earlier that day. I didn’t want my lucky Giants hat to get wet😆. Yeah, these pork buns are usually in Asian Supermarkets which are common here in the North. We’ll save you some next time we see you😊🦀
Yes! When we were just starting, we used to keep them following NJ Fish and Wildlife regulations. But as we get to meet and got advise from Old Time NJ crabbers it has become an understood guideline NOT to keep any females. Thank you for the advise🦀.

No, kung hindi mo naman ibebenta yung crabs, hindi mo na kailangan ng license. Basta make sure 4.5 inches yung size ng crab, walang itlog at 1 bushel per day lang ang pwedeng hulihin🦀😊
This is in Liberty State Park, Jersey City. As you come into the park, there’s a boat launch area to your right and that’s where the crabbing and fishing pier is.

Yeah, the Hudson bay is not pristine and we have asked the rangers in that place why not put up signs of “no crabbing.” Well it seems like the advisory is so far for the Newark bay areas only and that the upper bay of the Hudson opens close to the Atlantic ocean. But thanks for the heads up😊.

We never take the female crabs because they repopulate the ocean making new crabs for next season for everyone to crab and enjoy

Went to Captree and caught about 6 keepers, all more than 5 inches. All females, mature, no eggs or sponges. 😊

😊Timing. We try not go on a weekend. We arrive at the place real early. If there are a lot of people in 1 place, we leave and go to another.
