I usually farm the bridge near lone stallion ranch for huge amounts of points and combos

To "stay alive", all you need to do is tap the boost. You do need to be moving at some speed (basically not at a standstill). Obviously a car with Stunt Boost makes this easier.
Drifting around corners (for more then 1 second) is also a good way to stay alive, claw back some boost, and add some points.
Basically just drive over ramps, super jumps and billboards.
You don't have to be going fast (except when going off a jump). So drive carefully so you don't hit traffic.
Stunt Cars which have much higher grip don't tend to lose control after landing from a jump.

You can crash in a combo though. Yes, the combo will be over but you will get the score. So if you hit the target score don't be afraid to crash anyway. 😂
