    Gamerturk
    Can I play this, with having no knowledge of the other games or anime's? I really want this! I just wanna make sure I can follow the story.

    • @Gamerturk
      @Gamerturk  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I purposefully didnt answer that question, since I still havent completely finished the game and the game can still prove me wrong. But currently, I can say that the game requires basic knowledge of the SAO cast and history (previous games not included aside from knowing who 3-4 characters are, events not necessary), while the game does a good job introducing the Accel World cast and making sure you know the essentials about them. It assumes you know your things about SAO though, considering it is the 4th game in the series at this point.

      Yeah, unfortunately I have multiple gaming systems and hundreds of games. Unfortunately it was not a series I gotten into, or had time for over the years, with all the other games I'm constantly playing. Oh well. I had others on my list anyways. Thanks for the info 😊 😁

      I hope so 😂! I will look into the anime and start with that. Then look into which game I would need to play first. I subscribed as well. The video is great! 👍

      The games go as Hollow Fragment, which creates the gameverse after the events of the first half of the first Season of SAO, so the games work on a what-if scenario, followed by Lost Song, Hollow Realization and AWvsSAO as the fourth game.

    Not going to lie, i was on the fence about purchasing this after reading a few reviews. I have played to completion all the past games, but was thinking of sitting this one out. Your enthusiasm and praise has won me over. I hope it lives up to your impression.

      Glad I could help! As I said, it is very similar to Lost Song with improvements on that core concept. But I was here for the story and crossover, so Im happy with what I got :P

    Great impressions review! I say its a lot easier than Lost Song thanks to the changed UI for the controls as well as a few unique techniques that makes it a lot easier via experiments... The only problem is the grinding of EXP for others so if you want to create a strong party of your play style then you will have to fight a lot of battles overall, as well as get used to doing the Sword Skill Connects otherwise there is no chance of the player of finding it easy.

    Hi Gamerturk and I know this is pretty late and most of SAO fans may have had this game or know what I'm going to say but to the people who still don't know then I guess I may as well leave it in here. AW vs SAO do not play well with the Vita. As expected from a portable console, you'd normally be having limited power in terms of running the game. However, what the game fails at is how unpolished it feels in the PsVita. Graphics are ways downgraded compared to their main console counterparts and that is to be expected however the game suffers from severe frame drops which breaks the experience to any user. Even if you did manage to mod your PS Vita and overclock the device, the game runs at 20-30 fps on world maps and 45-60 fps in dungeons depending on how large it is and the mobs present. Gameplay wise, it's the same with their console counterparts. btw to add... graphics in Lost Song console and Vita have only a slight difference while in AW vs SAO, it's clear as day on how downgraded it is. Anyways it's up to anyone if they're going to buy the game still on the Vita but the experience is way better on console. Unlike Lost Song which was enjoyable on both ends IMHO

    Well, wasn't expecting this, but I gotta say that I totally agree with everything you said here, Gamer :3 I myself am also truly enjoying the game in lots of ways, things are even more enjoyable that I imagined and everything is great XP If I had any small complaint would be, ironically, some parts of the actual English dialogue, where it's obvious they didn't translate right what the characters were saying, but especially when they have to address the 'special ways' in which some characters call each other in Japanese. Seriously, especially with the AW cast, this feels REALLY weird and forced, like how they 'translated' the way in which Fuuko/Raker calls Utai/Maiden, even more when you can HEAR what they're actually saying...
    That aside, though, loving this game and hoping to keep going tomorrow...

      Good is a highly subjective term. Thats why I try to present information and let you decide if the game is good for yourself. If you are asking my own opinion, the story is great, gameplay is decent.

    I'm about two weeks late, but I hope you can answer this question. How is the multiplayer in this one? I liked Lost Song, but multiplayer was lacking (Even though I played the hell out of it) Are there more mission? Did they fix character customization? More loot drops? Thanks in advanced.

    • @Gamerturk
      @Gamerturk  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I havent tried MP, tbh, the only one I ever tried was Hollow Realization MP. I've heard its quite decent here though. Lots of people are playing MP on SAO discord so I assume there is more things to do.

    Ok my question is will I like this one if Lost Song wasn't really my thing and I hated Hollow Realization? Hollow Fragment was amazing and I played over 200 hours but LS and HR were just so boring to me...

    • @Gamerturk
      @Gamerturk  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay, your description is kind of divisive, considering HF and HR are very similar to each other in terms of gameplay, while Lost Song is the only different one. So am I correct in assuming you put more emphasis on Story aspect rather than gameplay style? If story is your thing and you dont mind the accompanying gameplay, I would definitely recommend AWvsSAO. The story it offers is much better than LS and HR and is by far the best paced story in the gameverse. If I asumed wrong, if you could clarify what exactly you enjoyed in HF and not in LS and HR, I believe I can be more helpful :P

    Man there's no way that , that guy from ACW would be able to clash blades with black lotus , its stupid they nerf black lotus to deal with this joker and im a person who watached ACW before SAO but i seen them both and i liked ACW better because it was more like a real game .

    It's so depressing that they are running these games into the ground..I always enjoyed these games but I hate playing as kirito and not being able to progress the main story without him..Waiting for them to allow us to make a in depth custom character and making the story progress around them

    • @Gamerturk
      @Gamerturk  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The thing is, SAO is a character driven series. If you let a fully custom character be the protagonist, your game can be anything.
      And you dont have to play as Kirito in this game, you can progress in the main story as anyone from the cast.

  • @TheReviewsprime
    @TheReviewsprime 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Dang. I wish they would just scrap the emo garbage that is Kirito. They make him near invincible to the point where he seems more OP than Goku thanks to "Plot Armor." Even if they kept him, at least make it to where you don't need him to finish the story and there is no romance between him and the girls (especially Leafa because...well, you know). I really want to like this game but I can't because of garbage that is Kirito.

    • @Gamerturk
      @Gamerturk  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I feel like many people who dont like SAO have some serious misconceptions about certain things. Kirito is not en "emo". Being an introverted person does not make you an emo, nor does not being able to trust yourself to carry other people in a death game, he's a kid, he is scared. And for a matter of fact, he is not near invincible because of Plot Armor, he is near invincible because of a simple MMO logic. If you grind too much, you get more exp than others, making you naturally OP, that is the case in every game if you overlevel, which is what Kirito did. SAO is not a perfect anime, it has many mistakes, but the ones you mentioned are not part of the problems it has. If you have any other questions, feel free asking and I'll try to answer them.
      Kirito is not required to finish the story. You can play the whole game without touching Kirito and by playing as other characters.

    • @TheReviewsprime
      @TheReviewsprime 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      So essentially what your saying is this game isn't like Lost Song in the fact where you are not forced to use Kirito to progress through the game? If that's so, sign me up! I hated how Lost Song made it to where you HAD to use him for story things which I felt was a step down from Hollow Fragment.
      Also, I felt like they should have went a different route in the anime instead of going the "Harem" route (including his COUSIN of all people). Then again, it is a typical shonen/harem where the main character gets all the girls but doesn't acknowledge it and he can't die. For crying out loud, he cheated death in the first season by coming back to life. I have had to drop the series because of the "harem" stuff and there is no death penalty anymore.

    • @Gamerturk
      @Gamerturk  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      For main story events, you are not forced to Kirito, you can initiate them with anyone you want. Kirito will be there in the dialogue, but you are free to play as whoever you want to.
      As for the Anime/LNs, it never went the Harem route. Leafa loved Kirito, but she also knew she couldn't be in love with Kazuto, his cousin, so once she learned, she let it go. Aside from Liz, none of the other characters have any feelings for Kirito and Liz knows he has no chance against Asuna, which is why she lets go of it as well.
      In the first season, he never came back to life. The bit you watched where he dies mirrors the first episode, where he thinks of death, it is in his head. What he does however is use an exploit of Full Dive games. They are programs made to work based on what is inside your brain, so if your brain activity is too much, the engine cant handle it, so you can bypass the systems. At that point in time, even Kayaba doesn't know what happened, but this "feature" is much more explained in the Accel World novels. At least we are assuming it is the same feature, since both LN's are not yet officially connected.
      And you seem to be intrepeting the show wrong if you consider it to be a harem anime, since it couldn't have been a more wrong interpretation.
      And you cant have every single game have death penalty, then it would actually become a shonen anime, like Yu-Gi-Oh where everybody constantly gets sent to Shadow Realm, just to be saved later on. In SAO, there is absolutely nothing that relates to a Shonen Anime.

      @morrigan7454 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No im not saying the games are cloned or anything. I've been playing hollow fragment this whole week and I can see A TON of improvements in graphics and features but that part of your video around 3:40 that area is really similar to the first open area of hollow fragment.
      No offense intended :) i mean the games are supposed to be similar, it's the same world and franchise, I was just wandering if this could be like a better version or footage of H fragment while you talked about AW vs SAO
      Thanks for replying tho! I'm about to buy H Realization and Accel VS Sao right now on PS store, they're on sale :)

    • @morrigan7454

    • @Gamerturk
      @Gamerturk  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dont worry, no offense was taken. I was literally trying to say, this has nothing to do with Hollow Fragment. AWvsSAO is an updated Lost Song, having a completely different infrastructure and formula than HF. HR is the one that was built upon HF.

    • @Gamerturk
      @Gamerturk  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @Gamerturk

      I think that is caused by the enemy draw distance. The maps are filled much more than HR, especially considering the flying enemies as well, but Artdink still cant use the presentation techniques well enough to create a big and lively map. Once you get close, its very good. Far away, its empty as hell.

    • @Gamerturk

      personal preference man. I watched them both and I think English dub lacks passion, while Japanese cast pretty much lives with these characters.

    • @MundoDragon
      @MundoDragon 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I respect your opinion, but personally, Japanese voice always seems to grate on my nerves. Most I have heard are horribly over-acted with the male macho-screaming voice or the high-pitched 12 year old female voice. Just can't take it seriously. The only way I'll listen to it is if there is no other option and the lack of English dubs has influenced my decision on whether or not to purchase games that I was on the fence about.

    • @Gamerturk
      @Gamerturk  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      As both of us said, personal opinion. For me, I do not even perceive it as "over acting" at least in the series I follow, since that bothers me as well.

      MundoDragon it's because the east goes for a more overacted approach to voice acting. While the west goes for a more realistic form of voice acting.

    Oh hey another shitty SAO game

    • @Gamerturk
      @Gamerturk  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was much more hopeful when I did this First Impressions video. Thats the thing about an early first impression, you may be gravely mistaken. Since Aquria improved so much from Hollow Fragment to Hollow Realization, where the "game" could actually be classified as a "game", rather than a Visual Novel with gameplay elements, I was expecting that trend would carry over to Artdink, improving Lost Song the same way for AWvsSAO. Turns out this was the same game, with the same maps, terrible writing for a full games price.
      Though I wouldn't say Any of the Hollow Games are bad by any means. HF is an aged game, but Realization is more than decent and it is a great game from a licensed game standpoint.
