First time watching a video of yours, I like how you shoot it. And your explanation of the item was great. But this guy is the real hero for recording a time-lapse of his gopro on the Volta recording a time-lapse!

Thanks Ron, good review. One word of warning however, don’t upgrade to Firmware Ver 1.4 as the Media Mod & Volta won’t work together and the camera goes into a Green Screen Loop switching on and off. To resolve you have to pull to battery, perform a factory reset from the SD card. As soon as you use the Media Mod and establish a Bluetooth connection to the Volta green screen of death starts again. Assume GoPro will issue a further firmware update once they acknowledge the problem.
oh bummer... sorry to hear about that experience. Reach out to GoPro Customer Support - hopefully they can help troubleshoot and identify the root cause.
Great review and really impressed with Volta. Also pleased to hear it is actually water-resistant, as I had previously watched another video and they said you should not use it in the rain - it 'always' rains in the North of England lol! Cheers Alan

Good video, and I bought one last week based upon my cousin Tony's recommendation. I love the increased battery life feature and the ability to control the camera from the selfie stick/tripod!
absolutely! a single charge last me an entire day of shooting! so much less gears to carry around!

I just bought this kit but would you recommend that I get the wider angled lens and have more stability or would that be unnecessary? Planning to use it for travel vloging probably Timelapse’s and setting it up off the trail and then walking thru the scene so I think a wider angle would be super cool for that cuz you’d see more scenery or wouldn’t have to put it as far away from the trail for a cool perspective
Congrats! Well, the GoPro already shoots at a rather wide angle, so reckon you’ll be fine. For vlogging, id recommend to use the “LINEAR” digital lens, it captures a wide distortion free perspective.

great video, can you please advise how to reduce the background noise (not the wind sound) while using the GoPro Media Microphone as it is very sensitive to the sound. Thankyou
Thanks KN! well, i'd recommend to use the windscreen-esp during windy condition. Under your settings you can toggle on wind reduction too. That'll help reduce background noise.

Great review!. I'd only get one if it could power the hero10 for around 12 hours or so during a timelapse. Any idea on how long it would last?
Thanks Andy! the Volta sure is awesome for those extended timelapse! well, the run time really depends on the Time Lapse interval you set your GoPro to. If you're shoot such extended time lapse, i'd recommend to shoot somewhere between 10 - 30 sec!
For this specific thunderstorm, i shot ~ over 3hours and there was still power left! hope this helps!

Quick capture fuction is available?? with connection of usb-c or without connection when the Gopro is off...
Yes- Quik Capture function will be available. You'd just have to make sure that Quik Capture is toggled on.

use the GoPro media mod! the GoPro media mod has a 3.5mm mic-in port, so you will be able to hook up any external mics

What setup will you suggest extra endurance battery with 3 in one stick or GoPro 11 creator edition for travel vlogging
well if you're doing everyday vlogs, the creator edition with the volta handgrip is perfect! I'd recommend to carry along a mount that let's you capture unique perspectives too - like the JAWS Clamp; Gumby; Magnetic Swivel Clip

I have the Volta and like it. Can I use the phone to check on what the Volta is seeing and click my phone to start and stop the video? Or does the video disappear when I start taping?
Hey Robert, sure - you can use the Quik App to do a Live preview to frame your shot & see what your GoPro is seeing. However live preview isnt available while recording.

I got the Volta battery grip. I had to change the battery door use the charging feature. Well I cant figure out how to get the door open to 1. Change it back to the original door so it can be waterproof again. 2. Change battery or SD card.
I tried to pull the door with pliers but it just feels like I'm going to break it. Any suggestions?!?!
there is only 1 door on the GoPro - & that is the area where you insert the battery, this should come off relatively easy. DO NOT try and remove the mic-drain cover (below the power button).
Much better if the remote control can be detached so that it can be use from a distance when the gopro is mounted in volta. ☺

Does it work with hero 6?
well, it will charge, but I believe it will have limited compatibility with HERO6
You could hAVE DEMOED HOW TO OPEN AND REMOVE THE pass-thru to change out the memory card or replace the renovable battery.
I did - check out 1:34. showed you how to swap the doors. as for the memory card & battery, it's pretty straightforward once you get the door open
