Elvis and Bob Dylan Perform "Don't Think Twice" [ Virtual Duet ]

  • This "virtual" version overlays vocals from an unreleased (and not too serious) Elvis recording session with Dylan's studio version. Doc & Merle Watson provide the music. It is far from perfect -- transposed from different keys, different tempos, and even different lyrics at times. Still, I wanted to hear these two together, and thought others might too so I am posting as-is.
    It is well known that Elvis was a hero of Dylan's, and for some complicated reasons he declined to ever meet him. But he was honored when Elvis covered "Tomorrow is a Long Time," and didn't speak for a week when Elvis died. I wonder if they would have performed this song together had they ever met.     Dylan never met Elvis though he did write a song - "Went To See The Gypsy" - which is a fictional account of meeting Elvis.

      Somehow that song is more clear than whatever he said in interviews about it.

      No, only in TH-cam videos :). In real life they never met. Elvis tried, but Dylan declined.
