Elvis and Bob Dylan Perform "Don't Think Twice" [ Virtual Duet ]
This "virtual" version overlays vocals from an unreleased (and not too serious) Elvis recording session with Dylan's studio version. Doc & Merle Watson provide the music. It is far from perfect -- transposed from different keys, different tempos, and even different lyrics at times. Still, I wanted to hear these two together, and thought others might too so I am posting as-is.
It is well known that Elvis was a hero of Dylan's, and for some complicated reasons he declined to ever meet him. But he was honored when Elvis covered "Tomorrow is a Long Time," and didn't speak for a week when Elvis died. I wonder if they would have performed this song together had they ever met. Original song sort of in the style of Johnny Cash that attempts to combine themes from old country songs with those from the current day like technology, etc. I guess the overall theme is how much the world has changed since the days of ramblin', trains, and prisons. The video just shows the main guitar, but but I added simple base, electric guitar and a drum track in different parts. Not sure ...

I tried this awhile ago using RO's voice as an input and the result was not great: although EP and RO are both great singers from the same genre and era, they have distinct styles, and the current AI can only change the sound of the voice and pronunciation, not the singing itself. Created by overlaying Bob Dylan's vocals with Hank Williams' original version. Interestingly, Dylan sings perfect harmonies with Hank (I wonder if he sang along to the record this way). Don't expect this one to get a ton of views, but these are two of my favorite artists performing one of my favorite songs, so figured I would share.

A spliced-together arrangement using Hank's studio version, slowed down by ~10%. Elvis (live version) is in his original key, Cash from his 1960 studio version has been raised one half step but still sounds pretty good. When they all sing together it's a little hard to differentiate Cash and Elvis, but overall just cool to have all three on the same track, and for such a great song. As always, ...

I can't help it if I'm still in love with their only duet on TH-cam, so I tried to piece together another one from their separate versions of "Your Cheating Heart." I don't totally disagree, but you are comparing easy-listening singers with country singer / songwriters based on singing performance. I think an important aspect you are downplaying is authenticity.
Yes elvis and merle were two of the greatest. Artist around. , But Johnny cash. , mm ahh no , He was the only singer worst then Frank Sinatra , Merle became the greatest country music singer ever. He brought country music back to life in the 70s ,I like Elvis as much as I liked dean Martin. Or Gene Watson.or Connie Francis , , But he could sing different stuff to , He was only as good as any band around him. ,

I fell in love with Anita Carter about ten years ago. Still ❤ broke.
You should have added Tom Jones with these three great singers. To me, Tom’s and Elvis’ versions of the song are the best, then Mel’s version. But I’ve never been a fan of Johnny and don’t like his version of the song.
Yes, Tom Jones’s version is probably the best overall, but I didn’t think making a “virtual” duet with him and Elvis would add much. They had some great duets in real life, much better than whatever I could put together on a computer!

Dylan never met Elvis though he did write a song - "Went To See The Gypsy" - which is a fictional account of meeting Elvis.
Somehow that song is more clear than whatever he said in interviews about it.

No, only in TH-cam videos :). In real life they never met. Elvis tried, but Dylan declined.
Johhny Cash, imo, wasn't much of a singer. How did he get so far? Right connections?
That's technically true, here's my opinion: 1) He had a really good / appropriate voice for the genre -- deep, unpolished, sincere 2) he wrote some great songs, and 3) he worked really hard (he was still making great recordings right before he died). On the spectrum between Elvis and Dylan he is somewhere in the middle.

I tried this and it sounded really promising but was too distorted, Jimmy Dean’s vocals are too “smooth” for the AI to pick up the syllables. I will look for some other versions…

Here in Europe this is Tom Jones' song. It's so good to hear three of my heroes perform it!
Big fan of Tom Jones and he sings this the best technically, but I personally interpret this as a US country song so to me it sounds best with that accent and instrumentation. What great writing though - the lyrics are universal enough to work in different contexts and with singers from different genres.
