The Bi-Copter drone from CES 2020 is actually here. This drone gained a lot of media when it was displayed at the Zero Zero Robotics booth at the show because of two things. The rated 50 Minute flight time and the fact this is a Bi-Copter. In this video I unbox the V-Coptr Falcon from ZeroZero Robotics.

I never thought this would ever make it to market. I have been a huge zero zero robotics fan, so when I saw the email to complete my preorder, I was shocked. I certainly hope it makes it all the way here to NY

Only two motors to run instead of four equals a longer flight time also.

"looks really well thought out" No, it does not. It must be wind shaky as fuck. The reason quad does so good in wind is because they have propeller at the front and back that stabilize the drone. on this drone you dont have front nor back propeller, they are located in middle which means they would be terrible to fly during very tiny winds.

The fewer propellers, the more efficient. This is an amazing flight time!!!!!! Bi-Copters certainly have a place in the drone world.

How do you figure that? less props have to work harder to lift the mass.
@@petetherealrelentless6542 It is more energy efficient to send energy to two moving props than four. I'm not a physicist but it is true. More props can get more power for sure. Just less efficient. If you want sheer power, having the max number of props is best.

I had forgotten that I put a $100 deposit down on one of these. iI Had been so long I just put it out of my mind and just now remembered. Looking forward to you testing it to see if it's worth it to give them more $$$ or just get my money back.

Very cool. A drone design almost identical to this appeared in the 1980 anime Blue Noah. It was a briliant design way, way ahead of its time. Extremely glad to see someone built basically the same thing and proved those designers 40 years ago were on the right path.

I have a feeling this is going to get blown away in the wind, four propellers are always more stable than two
They would have definitely tested it in windy conditions before launching it
Redemption My guess is based on the fact how even my four propeller Mavic 2 Pro gets blown away in high winds, I’m sure they tested the Mavic in high winds but released it anyway, it’s the greatest drone but there have been times I was panicking and struggling to not lose control especially when flying at higher altitudes ie hilltops.. so I’m quite skeptical a two rotor can stay stable in these conditions, but that’s just my guess, hopefully we’ll know soon :)

I was really curious to understand the physics and how the FC in the drone controls it's pitch axis but those tiltable rotors explained everything. Its great to see an alternative for quad and hexacopters with potential advantage of maintaining higher speeds without having to tilt the drone as much thus reducing drug and usability of anti-collision sensors. Would be great to see well designed drone, with superior range and speed capabilities than conventional copters aka mini V-22
I have the Walkera Furious 320 which is a Quad with tilt rotors... screamin' thing does 70 mph.

Looks unstable compared to a traditional 4 rotor design. Hopefully gimbal mitigates that. Seems like it would be much less precise in it's maneuvering as well. Very curious to see if the battery life claims are true. Doubtful but, would be neat if they were
