    I love the combination of "nobody will notice" and the mother with her kid who both looked up at it when it flew over them behind the van... ha ha. Pretty neat little drone though - amazing how small it is!

    Wanted to let you know your battery for the insta flight was fully charged. What happened was it came in high like 4.37v and the FC actually thought it was a 2s battery, and that's why it showed 2.xxv below the 4.3xv, that was what the voltage would be for 2s. You can set the battery high mark in betaflight to 4.5v and it won't happen again. So that was actually a just fine full battery flight. Thanks for the video!

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Odd that the previous battery did not show the same.

    • @TuxedoFPV
      @TuxedoFPV 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@CAPTAINDRONE798 yeah it can happen from a very minute change in the battery charge level, so that when it first arms it checks the battery and that's what gets set.
      If you check in betaflight on the "Power & Battery" tab the "Maximum Cell Voltage" field, I bet yours is set to 4.4. Since these batteries normally charge to 4.35 if they happen to be overcharged a touch they could read as 4.4 and make it think it's a 2s battery.
      If you set that field to "4.5" this shouldn't happen again. And all this does is change the math for reading the battery, it's not going to draw more power or affect flight handling or anything. It's safe to do.

    That thing looks like it's fun to fly, will have to add it to my list. BTW, try dual lock for the camera on small drones like this. If your not familiar with it, dual lock is kind of the love child of velcro and double sided tape. It locks it in rock solid without all the slop you get with velcro, but it's reusable like velcro. Just dedicate one mount to it and you can use the dual lock with it on any quad you can't do a proper mounting on.
    BTW, how about a short vid on setting up the voice prompts in the T-lite? I just got one and I like how you have yours set up.

    These look like they would be a great tool for troops on the ground that want to quickly scout ahead of them in urban environments. Small and able to get them a look around corners up ahead, in window of buildings, and so on without being loud and easy to spot and even harder to shoot down. I recall a story where a group of SEALs were approaching an enemy position in an Afghani town and when they ran up to a low wall they discovered the enemy weren't 50 meters ahead like they originally thought but rather hiding right on the other side of the wall they had just run up to. Several were injured in the chaos that ensued. A small drone like this doing a quick 2 minute recon ahead would have spotted all of the enemy positions for them and there would have been a much better outcome. A couple fully charged batteries before going out on a patrol or mission and detecting a single ambush would be worth the trouble to carry the extra gear. And this wouldn't have to be a $20k system designed by DARPA.

    I used to love flying little drones like this six years ago, and this drone doesn't look any better than the little toy ones I used to buy, that had FPV, Acrobat mode, HD recording, and also much more stable for when you want to float in place and do controlled maneuvers after racing around. I guess the only thing that's better with this is the distance of the range and 15 minutes flight time instead of 10 minutes I used to get years ago.

    With the 750ma battery I got the 10m++ flying time.

    Could i ask you to recommend to me two drones - one for beginning in FPV (better if it would be ready to go combo with googles) and one normal quadrocopter for video shooting.
    Have not decided yet wich way to go but so inspired to try drones and dont want to crush some first expensive DJI ;)

      For a starter FPV drone just pick one of the many READY TO FLY (RTF) all in one FPV Drone kits that I have reviewed. Find one in your price range.

    If it could carry that camera then why not more batteries? Why not add a battery for every extra 8 minutes? It would just be a matter of connecting them correctly.

    Wow, that’s great. I have bought 2 drones in the past, but I just am not a good pilot. I will go as far as to say I am a lousy pilot. I completely wrecked the first one & gave the second to my nephew. The Firefly looks like a lot of fun, price is great, but I just do not think I have what it takes. All my RC’s have 4 wheels & stay on the ground…most of the time. I absolutely love building them, but I am not that good a driver either. Oh well, I enjoyed you video. I imagine I will remain “droneless”.

      Practice on DRL or something similar, if you already have a radio you can plug it into your computer with usb and this helped dramatically for me.
