    i used to work for a neighbor back in the late 70"s and he had a Gleaner G,i loved driving that machine,we ran 6 row corn head.That one had a 350 chevy engine on it,the one in your video looks to be a 190xt on it i noticed the turbo my dad had a 190xt allis tractor looks very similar,so you got around 92hp maybe more if the pumps been turned up some.

    Looks like a nice addition to the "Toolbox". Good luck with the Gleaner, hope once you get some of those repairs made it turns out to be a good machine for you. Take care.

    It’s repairable !rattle chain drive is broke . If you’ll pop open access panel you can see what’s going on with rattle chain system. The belt system look to be the same set up as my two K I have . I’m here if I can help.

    To answer your question about that those ducts down on the shaker , they are part of a hillside blower system, if you look on the right side of the combine up next to the fuel tank is a blower , the belt to drive it is off, and there should be 4" flexible hoses going to those ducts down on the shaker. T here is an arm with a weight hanging on which controls which side to send air across the sieve when you are going along a hill.. We have hills and we had 2 gleaners over the years both with the blower system, it helps but if you don't have hills you are better off not using it. It can be a pain at times. If you are going to use it without the blower you should drill the rivets out of ducts on each side and rivet a piece of sheet metal on to close the hole in the shaker. If you have a book it should explain it. If that tape lets loose you will have grain leaking out there. Hopefully you know an old gleaner mechanic.

    Welcome to the Gleaner Gang. That G is a pretty big machine and has a heck of a motor. The G was made from 68-72 which makes sense becuase the interior matches the early Fs that started in 68. Im not sure exactly what the shaft is that broke but im thinking maybe the raddle chain drive baised on location, that being said its not a fun fix but i changed it out on my F and believe its on video. Some of those belts could be cylinder drive belts for when you change the pullton the cylinder for different crops. As Nelson said most of these old gleaners used automatic transmission fluid and not hydraulic fluid, but some have been changed to hydraulic fluid. The duct tape covering that hole is for the duct work coming from the box by the fuel tank. Thats a fan system i believe they later called the grain saver and its an option so you dont really need it. This combine is very similar to the Fs I have so if you have any questions reach out, I can get you my phone number some how, Nelson and Scotty have it. Hope she works out good for you and cant wait for more videos.

    Man yeah Mr Chris!!!! Welcome to the club!! You are a little ahead of me and Mr Pete, we are still the 2 row club 😁😁 That machine looks to be in amazing shape!! Can't wait to see it in the field!! Boy that shaft, I hope it's an easy get too item..I have found my size and out of shape status doesn't go well on climbing in and around combines 🤣🤣🤣 The duct tape cap is the Hydraulic reservoir ( double check most ran ATF instead of Hydraulic fluid) , the second duct tape area is the blower/fan inlet to the separation area I do believe. That back pack looking blower up near the engine is the air system , and looks to be missing a hose maybe. I could be wrong, this one is ALOT newer than the ones I have had. My A2 still uses wooden blade fans in the separator. I do miss the newer tilt wheel too, I realized that yesterday trying to see to hook the header up. 🤣🤣🤣 That diesel if I'm not mistaken is a 301 same as my 180 but with a turbo, can't wait to hear it run!! The slide pins to unhook the headers (oil them now everyday) will cause you to lose your mind and possibly cause a few blood blisters 😳😳😳 Great concept, but they can really get under your skin!! They made a tool I think, I am gonna build one...mashed my finger yesterday pushing one in again 🤣🤣🤣 The grain head looks amazing!! I saw silver plates it looked like, is it a rigid head of flexible? It should have leaf spring looking things under it if it's a flex head. Man yeah, you did great in my opinion, I would love to have the diesel, and Air Conditioning you do!! 😁😉 Yes three speeds with variable hydraulic adjustment in each gear. I am by far no expert and learning as I go, and you will as well! Those manuals will be your best friend!! Awesome purchase Mr Chris!! Can't wait to see it harvesting!!😁😁😁🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌱🌱🌱🌱🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽

    my family ran gleaners for years starting with the "A" moving up to the "C"" and then the "G. we only cut wheat and milo, the real place that Gleaners shine is they are realitvly easy to work on , only a couple of places where you have to remove Stacked belts or pullies to get to bearings or shafts , Gleaners were not known for saving "ALL" the grain but did an ok job the "L" and "M" had a longer straw walker and sieves so did better but we ran "G"s for close to 20 years till i got a JD 7720 . the engines were very long lifed we had a diesel and a lp unit. i will check i MIGHT have a manual for it at one time i had a Parts Manual . Good luck and Have FUN from Oklahoma

    Good luck. When i was looking for my 1st combine. I had someone with a old Geane they were looking to sell. The 1st thing i did was ook for a dealr for parts. No delers around here. I would venture to say 60% are John Deere, 35% CassIH, and maybe 5% New Holland. Good luck and hope it all works out for you. It is fun to run any combine when they are working, but when they breakdown, they can make you pull your hair out.

    Looks like you have some learning and fixing to do. I've never seen Gleaner with orange paint.. only galvanized steel and black paint.
    Exception is header accessories, such as add on belt pickups.
    I see it's got the side hill blower 👍 put one on the M we had. Definitely helps!!
    Best advice I can give you, read the manuals. Learn the machine and hopefully everything goes well!!

    • @GosselinFarmsEdGosselin
      @GosselinFarmsEdGosselin 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@AgWildNebraska yes, hanging off the right side. Has an arm with a weight, you could see when Chris walked around. Pendulum to direct airflow from right to left side of the sieve.. the rubber at the top to seal sievers to the sidewalls is replaced with a small air duct. Lean to one side or the other and it blows the material across the sieves to keep it even.
      Poor man's hillside machine.
