Great shots! It’s very difficult to find candid video, or even photos, of vintage Birmingham. A lot has changed since this was recorded, I see. Skyline still pretty much the same. I’m not sure if you’re still here in Birmingham, but that Ruby Tuesday is now a Chick-Fil-A, that Johnny Rockets a Waffle House, and there’s apartment complexes everywhere downtown now - especially around Railroad Park (which didn’t exist then). The old Bellsouth/AT&T building is now vacated and very unnerving to look at at night. Plan is to turn it into - you guessed it, apartments - then have a sky rise restaurant at the very top (um how about no sir for me). 😆 again, thanks for this!
LOL! The very beginning of this video made me laugh. I was 5 in '94 and have a faint memory of going to Ruby Tuesdays some where down town but had no idea where it might be. I should've guessed it would have been Five Points. Another part of that memory was seeing horse mounted Police Officers
I literally road this path today 😮 I live in Birmingham I was born in 1995 at st Vincent but it's nice to see how things use to look before i was born wow great content for a young buck 🙏🏾💯
When Democrats take total control of a city the end is near. Look at all the cities in decline like Detroit, Chicago and St. Louis, all run in the ground by Democrats. 😢

You’re so right!!! We’re working on it now. Currently on floor 17 at the at&t building
What about the Carraway Hospital? My dad worked there in the early 80’s. I drove through Fall of ‘21 and that place looked spooky!
@@bryonrussell3159I moved in January ‘19. Carraway had been closed down a few years already.
I was in high school in 1994 but I remember this times sure have changed so much
I was Still living in Newark NJ in 1994..I moved to Birmingham in November,1996
Why would you do that.
I was here enjoying the Birmingham nightlife, great fun back then.
1994 20th Street includes the 5 Points Music Hall. I was still in high school, but Free to roam in 95.

Miss those days and the 10-15 years prior. Lots of good stuff about Birmingham gone now. Sure, plenty of improvements, but at what cost? 😓
Love this. Went to UAB 95-99 & lived off Highland.
What was the boutique,
behind the fountain?
OMG what happened? it was so nice..
Exactly my thoughts. Sad.

Does that question really need to be asked? As if anyone born and raised in B'ham doesnt know.
Birmingham is much nicer in 2024 than 1994.
Have you seen miami lately? The 80s there wasn't exactly a walk in the park.........
i was either in birmingham or already in detroit
Bank for Savings building still had its marquee.
I would have been a kid riding my bike around those areas
Do you have more footage
This was all I had for Birmingham
5 points south. The Studio Or the Boot-o

This is how I remember Bham
It's A damn shame it's 2024 and the place looks exactly the same. Sad!!!!!!
The state of Alabama politics and…..you guessed it, have it on life support. It’s gonna be any minute now.
wow, it looked better in 1994 than it does today sad
The Democrat run cities are the problem. The State can't just step in. Surely this isn't hard to understand.
