    This is my first time watching your channel and enjoyed every second of this video. The amount of switches on the market is daunting for someone new and I like how you went over the pricing history and the sound test.

    Just picked up some BSUN X and flower shadow switches myself! If you compare these against the other BSUN switches it could show how housing materials affect the sound profile (POM vs POK vs Full LY).

    I think doing a comparison with a common popular switch that everyone has is a must since every recording environment is different....its the only way for a viewer to actually unscientificallg get a feel of what they could sound like in their setup

    I don’t think you’ve reviewed it yet, but one of my favorite long poles lately are the Mode Obscuras. Would be great to compare to that, and Zakus/Geon Blacks.

    • @aifresnofresno
      @aifresnofresno ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maybe throw in the KNC Green Jackets in that Geon/Zaku comparison. Since they all almost identical spec.

  • @okayzimbabwe

    Would love two comparisons per video: most popular long pole switch and most popular standard travel switch. it'd be cool if you picked your favorites for the two!

  • @delta-fox

    I definitely vote for comparisons within a video. It's super helpful to have it all in one place.

  • @aifresnofresno
    @aifresnofresno ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I agree.
    Comparisons vs other switches is a must, in each video. Even if it’s equal footage from another review that can be added in.
    Have you done Owlab Neons yet? They seem to have some hype behind them.

    This sounds like a great combination of materials, really enjoyed the review! That said 3.2mm travel seems a little too short for my taste, I would be curious to see how this same composition sounded with say 3.7-3.8 mm travel instead. Would also say that a sound test comparison inside an individual switch review would be great, but a playlist of shorts with switch sound tests in the same board would also be totally good with me! Just great to have something for reference

      bsun also manufactured sarokeys strawberry wine and BCP clone, imo the strawberry wine sounds so good you should really try it.

    • @ImOnMy116
      @ImOnMy116 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sonofliberty3347 is the strawberry wine supposed to be a bcp clone? would definitely be intrigued if so! Previously I’d heard of the Penyu switch, but it doesn’t appear that’s available anywhere now (except maybe mechmarket).

    • @sonofliberty3347
      @sonofliberty3347 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ImOnMy116 strawberry wine is not a bcp clone, sarokeys made bcp clone as well
      both swtiches are manufactured by BSUN, while the original bcp has a 1.1mm pre-travel, the sarokeys bcp has 1.3mm, better, but still very hair-trigger to me.
      strawberry wine sound better imo, higher pitch, while sarokeys bcp sounds more 'pop'
      BSUN's long pole switches all sounded very similar, strawberry wine is easily the best out of them all

      BSUN has the hifi and kiki(red) switches which are basically the same as this but with 3.6mm travel and different spring

    Nice review as always. I am really liking the cost of switches coming down. I feel like of all the parts of a keyboard it’s nice to get a reprieve on the cost for value in the switch dept.

    With the BSUN London Fogs I had an issue where the bottom out would get muted eventually because of all of the stem lube.. is this an issue with any of the other BSUN switches you've tried?

  • @BojanglesCFR
    @BojanglesCFR ปีที่แล้ว

    I got some Laguna Blue switches from Bolsa Supply recently, and I'm really liking them. I've heard that they're basically a recolor of these switches though. Any chance you could include the Lagunas in some kind of comparison video in the near future?

  • @chickenbeforeegg
    @chickenbeforeegg ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video and yes, do some comparison switches for reviews!

  • @albertko1
    @albertko1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think finding a popular example of a switch that fits in the same "category" or focus would be a good way of making comparisons more consumer relevant.
    ie Gateron Oil Kings for a "smooth linear" or Boba U4T for a large bump tactile.. The downside of switch innovation is that it's often hard to compare to existing switches. Only within the last couple of months have I seen more switches with P3/LY stems. And it's very hard to say if ANY of those are truly popular that the community in general has experienced them.
    This is without even considering price point. I think using the Gateron Yellow Pro or even Red Pro is probably a good point of reference for most linear switches. Milky Yellows are starting to fall behind with all the newer budget switches having far tighter tolerances while retaining a lot of the sound and feel characteristics that make it desirable. It's not just a single company changing the landscape... It's the whole group like the KTT, Bsun, Akko, JWK all pushing price competition

    I'd happily take comparisons in regular vids and reels. I'd agree with others that Gateron yellows or oil kings would be good for linear comparisons and Boba U4ts or some type of panda switch for tactile comparisons

    The most popular switch is probably the Gat yellow. I personally find them to lack character but they do feel pretty good for the price point.
    My personal favourite switch are Cthulhu's(cream sodas)

      @@MakerMods I've been using Chosfox Voyager based on one of your previous recommendations. They are awesome, I just want to try something different for my Cycle 7 build. I'm hoping for an accented/noticeable bump that doesn't persist as long into the keypress as the Voyager's. All of your BSUN reviews have me wishing they had a .45 cent tactile floating around out there, but they seem to be focusing heavily on linear options. lol

    I would actually be really interested in learning about how to use an ultrasonic cleaner to clean switches I think that a lot of people in the hobby still like to lube their own switches for the consistency, but it's a pain to wash the lube off, especially on stabilizers. Maybe it can be a future video or article? ; v ; )

    Listening to sound tests is fun, but we all know they have limitations. But I i think doing a comparison is a great way to get as much as you can out of a switch sound test, so I'd definitely support! The first switches that came to mind are gat ink blacks or gat yellows? Although a long pole and/or a tactile would probably make a lot of people happy too. No idea how you're gonna choose just one lol.
