      The 200m is also coming, considering he ran 19.50s at the Diamond League Meet a few weeks ago, he's gonna give Lyles a run for his money again.
      Next year's Olympics are gonna be interesting. If he continues to improve, Tebogo will smoke them next year. He could potentially be an Olympic champ at 21.

      ​@StarryNightGazing not at all. They were heavily tested after 2004!!! In fact it was harder, because they were taking blood samples if I'm not mistaken. They were popping them left and right, Asafa, Gay and Blake all tested positive. I think Blake was cleared.

      Actually, Andre Cason, Ato Boldon, Darrel Brown won the World Junior 100m title and medaled Silver or Bronze for the Sr. Title. Noah is the 1st man to win both a world junior & senior 100m titles.

    With 9.79 at the 2012 London Olympics, Gatlin only managed a bronze. That's how great Bolt was. 9.83 was a jog in the park for him.

    Noah, with a smile on his face even right in the middle of the race where he wasn't winning yet. I love this guy. He's definitely got faster times in him too, as this didn't actually look the strongest I've seen him finish in the 100m.

      The reason it didn't look as strong of a finish is because Lyles was running against fast finishers, not like running against Coleman.
      In this 9.83s performance, Lyles clocked 3.38s for the final 40 m, which is just 0.01s slower than his PB for that distance. So, it was a strong finish, as strong as Lyles can get.

    Congratulations Noah. But, it’s crazy to think Usain ran 9.85 at a jog in the Beijing Olympics preliminaries and that’s just about the fastest time during this world championships with guys going all out. I’m still excited to see how the 2024 Olympics will play out.

I know that both Berlin Worlds 09 and London Olympics 12 were faster overall with the Tyson running 9.71, with Blake and Gatlin running 9.75 and 9.79. I wasn’t talking about them, I was talking for each winning times there was only 9 championships winners that was faster then Lyles. Only the London Olympics is the only race Lyles wouldn’t have medaled in.

      The continent has won medals in the men's 200m (via Namibia's Frankie Fredericks, then Nigerian Francis Obikwelu and South Africans Anaso Jobodwana and Wayde van Niekerk) and in the women's 100m (Ivorian duo Murielle Ahoure and Marie-Josee Ta Lou)

    Expected maybe some more from seville, he was jogging 9.8 and 9.9 through the semi’s and the heats. He wasnt as relaxed in his running in the final.

    Noah Lyles's top end speed here is unbelievable. I thought he would fall in fourth place or something. But he did the unthinkable. Especially considering that was up against all the big names like Leslie Tebogo.

      His 9.65 quote isn't too unfathomable honestly. In perfect conditions, warm day, warm track, and a +1.5m tail wind, he's going to be nipping at low 9.70's or even 9.60's. 9.83 in still conditions is phenomenal.

      He's on pace to do both. He just ran 9.83 with no tail wind, and he has been drastically improving his start. His start has always been his problem. He may or may not ever reach 9.65, but I believe he has it in him to do so.
      Man is just confident in his ability, and is not afraid to share it with the world, regardless of whether he attains it or not.
      Why hate on him for entertaining us? Isn't that what pro athletes are supposed to do? Entertain

    Man as a Coleman fan and lyles it’s hard for me I’m always rooting for them but Coleman needs to fix his problems it worked when he could start fast and everyone would hit there gears late but now they are hitting them at the right time and it shows still a great runner just wish he had more leg endurance and better mechanics
