  • In this part all the parts are reupholstered and reinstalled onto the car. But the job has't turned out how I expected. And I had to redo it once again, and I'll upload one final video with the interior roof being done once again.
    I made some mistakes that I had realised and ones that perhaps I didn't realised. If you have any hints or tips, please let them in the comments, I would like to get better at this!

    Great Work! What is the minimum width and length of the roof headliner so that it covers it all?

      @diesselxxl16  ปีที่แล้ว

      I can’t remember exaclty the measurements but the material comes in standard width and it was enaugh. For the length i have measured the length of the headliner and added a minimum of 0.5 meters on each side to be on the safe side. Add more if you want to do the sunvisors also, as the material is fairly cheap and it’s better to have extra than less

    Hey great stuff, your video helped me get a hang around how to remove the headliner needed to access the sunroof for a leakage repair. Quick question: Where did you buy the upholstery material? What quality details would you advise I should be looking out for.....?

      Thanks for the appreciation. The material is simple headliner fabric. You should look for a very professional supervision if you want to do it yourself as the headliner is very intricate and the material will stay in tension. I should have used much more quality materials because in certain areas the material unglues itself, i will upload another video in wich i have redone this operation (after only two weeks from the first time) and got somewhat better results, but bear in mind this is no ordinary headliner, it’s very intricate. Very strong glue is recommended and a spare set of hands

    Im guessing JLR have a press that enables them to automatically get it done. Many thanks for all this. I should be working on the D3 but I am watching you!

    you did a very good job ,this headliner is very difficult to repair the curves at the back are very difficult ,i did this twice and had to start over i am now on my 3rd attempt keep getting creases at the back corners so i will try it your method of gluing up,but well done

      Thanks. But my job wasn’t 100% ok either. I will redo it too. I guess the extra pair of hands really helps but keep in mind to use 100% professional materials because the headliner curves are very intricate

      @@diesselxxl16 I changed the headliner material to one that is more stretching. And I so far I manage to get out the waves at the back,but it's a lot of patience

    Hey great videos man. You have helped me enormously to change the lining of my disco. One question: what glue did you use to put the sun visors back together. Thanks

    • @diesselxxl16
      @diesselxxl16  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      AlcoholMasteryTV be very careful at the quality of the materials you are using, especially at the glue for the headlining. For the visors at glueing them together i used epoxy glue A+B (2 part) with work time of 20’ and curing time of min 24hours.

    Great video. Very useful. I am from Australia, and having trouble getting wider headliner to fit disco 3. What size did you use, i think i need at least 180mm wide.
    Can you share link of the headliner product?

    • @diesselxxl16
      @diesselxxl16  ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually i think it was the standard size for the material’s width and it was 1,50 meters wide. Only the length was measured and i got plenty more as i did the sunvisors too. I bought the material online from a site equivalent to ebay/amazon, that’s specific for Romania (Eastern Europe)

    How many yards of material u use

      @diesselxxl16  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. It’s been a while since i’ve done it and i can’t remember exactly, but the material comes in standard width and all i had to do was to measure the lenghth of the headliner, added some confortable extra length and i think i used 4 meters of length, and i did the sun visors too. Good luck
