Why should he be here he is only hard because the game take all rings away from you and than is he really buggy in fact in the ports that fixed him is he really fucking easy because his attack pattern is easy to exploit.
But you have to jump perfectly to not hit his spike arms and the music is so intimidating, The boss itself is intimidating, You destroy Silver Sonic and you think "Phew, Done" But then Robotnik goes and jumps into the Death Egg Robot and you're like "Oh fuck"

My favourite boss battle, simply because of how smart it was, has to be Emerl from Sonic Battle. You've developed his skillset throughout the game, you've used the best moves of all the characters to make an unbeatable player character. You've just used him to beat Eggman, your most difficult adversary so far, you think the game's over; then you find you've got to use Sonic to beat Emerl, who's got the same amazing moveset you just used to beat Eggman. The devs knew you'd make Emerl into the best character he could be, which makes the final battle all the more satisfying when you beat him with the first character you unlocked. Great game design and a fantastic boss battle.
Adventure battle 2 really has the best bosses and lvls in my eyes. No matter how many times i play it it stays awesome! Glad to see many of them on the list!
The Biolizard, Final Hazard, & Perfect Chaos are my favorites in that order. I love the music to Biolizard so much, I muted the song as I played the game on PS3. Those bosses just bring me down to one knee cause they’re just so.... well, boss😍
during your countdown i was secretly hoping the biohazard was number one and lo and behold it is. The biohazard that you fight with shadow is awesome in every way and has always been my favorite boss fight till this day. I love the music that plays in the background as well as the difficulty. A perfect way to end a sonic boss count down!!!

Sonic vs Shadow SA2, did you know, if you just keep running, the track eventually ends, whoever you are fighting used chaos control to leave, and you fall and die.
I'm very surprised you didn't mention Sonic 3 and Knuckles Doomsday Zone Final. If I were to have a top 10 that boss battle would be Number 1. That boss battle was very epic and had the perfect ending to the classic series.
Actually, it's a common misconception with Perfect Chaos from Sonic Adventure 1. They deadline for the whole project was moved up considerably and the creators didn't have enough time to create him. The one in the completed game was the test model from early Beta.
Although the Egg Golem used to scare me as a kid, I always LOVED that boss fight. And I actually liked the werehog bosses, made me think of Zelda bosses.
My favourites are the Egg Viper, Egg Emperor, Silver in Generation, and the final boss in 06, believe it or not. But remember the Vs Silver in 06? When the tables are turned and you're Silver, I'm always yelling, "IT'S NO USE!" like Arin from Game Grumps.
honestly generations was the first sonic game i owned and i still have it.it introduced me to characters like espio,vector,charmy,blaze,metal sonic and silver.I knew espio before but i thought he was a rhino.But i still love sonic the hedgehog.
Ooooooh my god, my favourite has to be without a doubt the Dark Gaia battle (I mean both of them as a whole). It combines so many good elements of a good Sonic final boss. You got Light Gaia (Chip) as a massive ****ing Mech, Sonic's jumping puzzle-type moments, Super Sonic HIMSELF and the Endless Possibility's remix. It's by far the best I've seen woithout a doubt. :)
I agree. I loved that battle when I first played it and i still replay it. And I alvays played power rangers theme when chip transormed to a giant golem.
The one boss I will always remember is the boss in Casino Night from Sonic 2. It was kind of hard for me, but that is the main thing I remember from that game(other than the Death Egg and Oil Ocean). It brings me back to Sonic's good days.

My fave boss is the xbox/ps3 generations shadow rival battle. Instead of one having an advantage, you're having a fair, 1 on 1 battle of equals. And I adore it.
I like the Nega-Wisp Armor from Colors (Wii) a lot, cause it remembers me from the first Sonic game, making Super Sonic unnecessary and having Eggman as the real villain.
The final boss for Colors was pretty easy but i loved it for how much weight the situation had and the switch from gloomy music to orchestrated awesomeness. Plus Sonic got to show up in SSBB for a bit *cough* *cough*
By far, my fave Sonic boss is Devil Doom. It's just so fun to beat. You also get to play as Super Shadow, which adds a challenge to things as you can't let your rings run out. Also, it's essentially showing Shadow removing the shackles of his past by defeating the one who made him (ok, helped make him. I'm not gonna get into that right now.)
Sonic & Knuckles: The DOOMSDAY Zone! It's the first final boss that introduced an enemy that Sonic needed to fight in his golden, powered up form. I love EVERYTHING about this boss! It's simple and challenging! And the music, it kicks so much ass!

Nice list. My favorite bosses are, Death Egg Robot (Sonic 2) Simple and fun. Mecha Sonic (Sonic and knuckles in Knuckles story) Fun and decently challenging. Egg Viper/ Walker (SA1) Best Eggman fights. Egg Golem (SA2) You said why. Knuckles vs Rouge (SA2) A bit annoying at first, but gets better with every play of it. Sonic vs Shadow 2 (SA2) My favorite Sonic boss. FinalHazard (SA2) Great setup, music and gameplay. Black Doom (STH) I don't know why. Devil Doom (STH) Fun to play and has a great setup. Silver (Sonic Generations) Only boss fight that I found didn't get downgraded. Those are my favorite bosses.
Great list, man! Don't necessarily agree with all of them, but I can totally see why you picked each one. One thing though. Wii version of Sonic Unleashed is vastly inferior? I much prefer it. It focuses on fun, tight gamplay while cutting out the fluff
I loved the egg mech in sonic 2 the music was great the no rings gave a challenge and a choice either jump the flame of his jet pack or wait till his arms shoot out and most of all he seems to be controlled by the player since your position decides his attacks all around an awesome boss
Great list; I was a bit shocked by #1 but I completely understood why by the end though I would say their were a bit too many SA2 bosses. Anyways, Here's a list of a few bosses that I liked but weren't on the list. 1. Metal Overlord: it was fun and satisfying conclusion to Sonic Heroes. 2. Devil Doom: Using chaos spear was so much fun and the fight was pretty intense as well. 3. Doomsday: The first Super Sonic final boss and it was very iconic as well as being fun to fight. 4. Iblis 3: I know, a boss from Sonic 06, however this fight was very intense and was so awesome to launch a massive fire ball back at him. 5. Solaris: You are aloud to play as Sonic, Shadow, and Silver while fighting an interdimensional being; what more needs to be said. 6. Dark Gaia Phoenix: It was a very interesting boss; not too hard but still very enjoyable. 7. Nega Wisp Armor: I was very surprised this didn't make the list. Eggman takes the power of the wisps to create this masterpiece, it has many attacks, satisfying final blow, intense, and a great music track.

I liked Chaos' design more when he was 100% water (ok, 98% because of his brain and eyes) than when they changed him to be more of a reptilian. I wish they could keep the design he had on that cinematic before the final battle in adventures (the one where his head emerges from a building).
Metal overlord from sonic heroes is my favorite I mean the concept of an upgraded metal sonic is badass neo metal sonic is sick looking in design and his voice is really menacing especially because of the fact that his voice echoes.
I really liked your choices for the boss fights, but sadly, I just hated Biolizard. Because I bothered to wait till this year to play SA2, it took me forever to try to destroy this beast and it drove me up the wall. DX But nevertheless, I respect your opinion and loved your overall countdown. :)
For #2 on your list, the fight is so much easier when you're playing as Sonic. The reason for that is that as Sonic you have the bounce bracelet, an upgrade you're required to have to complete the light side story and one Shadow doesn't even get. The AI is absolutely terrible at defending against the Bounce Bracelet. Just get in front of him, jump and spam the bounce button and you'll hit Shadow pretty much every time.

Fun fact about the Chaos 6 fights with Sonic and Knuckles: Attacking it regularly requires 4 hits, but if you've got the Ancient Light/Fighting Gloves you can actually finish the fight in 2 using the Light Speed Attack/Maximum Heat Knuckles Attack (gah, I hate that name).
My favorite is purely out of nostalgia. But I remember getting sonic 3 when it first came out. I loved fighting knuckles at the end. It was even better when the lock on came out and I could play as knuckles

It’s truly a shame that sa2 gives me motion sickness (especially knuckles/rouge levels), because I really do enjoy the game, and it’s one of my favorites. Due to this unfortunate inconvenience, I haven’t made it to the Egg Golem yet, so for now I’ll take your word for it.

Sonic & Knuckles: The DOOMSDAY Zone! It's the first final boss that introduced an enemy that Sonic needed to fight in his golden, powered up form. I love EVERYTHING about this boss! It's simple and challenging! And the music, it kicks so much ass!
woah 4 bosses of my favourite Sonic game in the list :D. But hey I actually agree, the Biolizard was more challenging for me (as a kid actually) xD Now he is easy but the final hazard is hard 2 beat. O.O
Nice list. My favorite bosses are,
Death Egg Robot (Sonic 2) Simple and fun.
Mecha Sonic (Sonic and knuckles in Knuckles story) Fun and decently challenging.
Egg Viper/ Walker (SA1) Best Eggman fights.
Egg Golem (SA2) You said why.
Knuckles vs Rouge (SA2) A bit annoying at first, but gets better with every play of it.
Sonic vs Shadow 2 (SA2) My favorite Sonic boss.
FinalHazard (SA2) Great setup, music and gameplay.
Black Doom (STH) I don't know why.
Devil Doom (STH) Fun to play and has a great setup.
Silver (Sonic Generations) Only boss fight that I found didn't get downgraded.

One thing though. Wii version of Sonic Unleashed is vastly inferior? I much prefer it. It focuses on fun, tight gamplay while cutting out the fluff
My favorites would have to be the Eggfleet fights from Sonic Heroes. I also love the fights between the different teams in that game.
I loved the egg mech in sonic 2 the music was great the no rings gave a challenge and a choice either jump the flame of his jet pack or wait till his arms shoot out and most of all he seems to be controlled by the player since your position decides his attacks all around an awesome boss
Great list; I was a bit shocked by #1 but I completely understood why by the end though I would say their were a bit too many SA2 bosses. Anyways, Here's a list of a few bosses that I liked but weren't on the list.
1. Metal Overlord: it was fun and satisfying conclusion to Sonic Heroes.
2. Devil Doom: Using chaos spear was so much fun and the fight was pretty intense as well.
3. Doomsday: The first Super Sonic final boss and it was very iconic as well as being fun to fight.
4. Iblis 3: I know, a boss from Sonic 06, however this fight was very intense and was so awesome to launch a massive fire ball back at him.
5. Solaris: You are aloud to play as Sonic, Shadow, and Silver while fighting an interdimensional being; what more needs to be said.
6. Dark Gaia Phoenix: It was a very interesting boss; not too hard but still very enjoyable.
7. Nega Wisp Armor: I was very surprised this didn't make the list. Eggman takes the power of the wisps to create this masterpiece, it has many attacks, satisfying final blow, intense, and a great music track.

I liked Chaos' design more when he was 100% water (ok, 98% because of his brain and eyes) than when they changed him to be more of a reptilian. I wish they could keep the design he had on that cinematic before the final battle in adventures (the one where his head emerges from a building).

Metal overlord from sonic heroes is my favorite I mean the concept of an upgraded metal sonic is badass neo metal sonic is sick looking in design and his voice is really menacing especially because of the fact that his voice echoes.

I really liked your choices for the boss fights, but sadly, I just hated Biolizard. Because I bothered to wait till this year to play SA2, it took me forever to try to destroy this beast and it drove me up the wall. DX But nevertheless, I respect your opinion and loved your overall countdown. :)
For #2 on your list, the fight is so much easier when you're playing as Sonic. The reason for that is that as Sonic you have the bounce bracelet, an upgrade you're required to have to complete the light side story and one Shadow doesn't even get. The AI is absolutely terrible at defending against the Bounce Bracelet. Just get in front of him, jump and spam the bounce button and you'll hit Shadow pretty much every time.

Fun fact about the Chaos 6 fights with Sonic and Knuckles: Attacking it regularly requires 4 hits, but if you've got the Ancient Light/Fighting Gloves you can actually finish the fight in 2 using the Light Speed Attack/Maximum Heat Knuckles Attack (gah, I hate that name).
My favorite is purely out of nostalgia. But I remember getting sonic 3 when it first came out. I loved fighting knuckles at the end. It was even better when the lock on came out and I could play as knuckles

It’s truly a shame that sa2 gives me motion sickness (especially knuckles/rouge levels), because I really do enjoy the game, and it’s one of my favorites. Due to this unfortunate inconvenience, I haven’t made it to the Egg Golem yet, so for now I’ll take your word for it.
