    Lulu, love your floor plan, color pallet and fabric. You've got it going on! Paisley is my favorite print. Some things to consider: raise your Berkey on a block to make it easier to use the spigot. Paint your ceiling ribs blue. Magnets will work through the paint. Round off the head of the bed inside corner. You'll be less likely to nick your shin on it. Google contour gauge. It's a great construction tool for making templates in irregular spaces. There are videos online that show how to diy one with cardboard and wooden skewers. We are all rooting for you, Lulu. Your excitement is infectious. - Judi

    Suggestion; in case you aren’t already planning this; wait for a couple of sunny days, lay plastic down, preferably outside on the lawn, put everything that needs painted on the plastic and use a spray gun. Hopefully your paint will dry fast and you can get a second coat on. 2nd suggestion, use just 2 of the colors for the built and the other 2 for the bedding, pillows etc. I find myself wanting to switch up my duvet and it helps that there are only a couple of permanent colors going on to match with. It’s exciting and fun, enjoy! Btw because of you I am listening to WD, eating better & using Sarvaa! 😂 You are an influencer! But mainly you inspire others which is great 👍

    Lulu I love it (the plan) and I love the drape material and all the colors. Hint: add a thin piece of plywood to each of the basket fronts with mixed colors of paint you have chosen and that will tie it all together. Make a cushion for the cooler our of drapery material, with a seperate skirt. It will look like a mini sofa, . Bamb!! it will pop!!! Mix it up girlfriend and make it special and colorfull, cheerfull and fun. Do it Lulu's Way!!!

    For your samples, I like to go to michaels and buy some canvas art boards (8x10 or smaller). Paint each one with your sample colors. I find these are easier to visualize rather than the smaller paint sample cards you have. I then take them with me to the stores where I buy decorations for my room. I love, love your idea how you choose multiple colors for your decorating scheme.

    Great idea on the water filter placement. Just put a little something between the wood and Berkey so it doesn’t get scratched up - but I’m sure you thought of that

    Your idea for your new bed location is super intriguing! If you decide to build a lightweight cover over your feet (so you can store stuff on top when you are sleeping) you might consider making the "topper" out of (reinforced) foam insulation. I've used the 1/2 inch rigid pink foam sheets for my van walls. The pink foam can be cut with an exacto blade, hot wire/soldering iron, hacksaw blade, jig saw, etc. Rigid pink foam is cheaper, lighter and easier to cut than 1/2" ply and you can reinforce it by painting it, decoupaging, gluing fabric or sandwiching between 1/4" ply (or thinner) or plastic coro board. For my walls, I sandwiched the rigid pink foam between 1/4" luan, sealed with latex paint, and then "upholstered" the facing side with fabric or auto carpet. Be sure not to block your vents under the glove box! Rock on, rockstah!

    I love your ideas and colors. Especially paisley is my favorite material. But all I could think about in my sleep was not to put peel & stick tile on the counter top. You might need to sit a hot pan or lid down and it will melt. Just stain and apply mineral oil or butcher block finish. Maybe add strip of molding on edge to cover plywood layers. No poly or varnish either. Still use separate cutting board. Keep having fun and sharing. Take care!!! p.s. I have also used flashing for back splash and tops. It comes in different widths and copper or silver color.

    For your cabinets you could put either string or chain on the inside on both sides so when you open them it will provide support for the doors/hinges. Everything is looking fantastic and love the color choices and the fabric. You could also poke holes in the corrugated plastic/fabric and put tiny lights through so it looks like stars! ❤😊

    You could add insulation behind the cabinets. It will cut out a lot of the road noise you heard in Florida. Also, a flip up table from the top of your cubbie cabinet. I sure hope you intend to strap the cooler while driving. So far it looks great.

    Brilliant design and decor ideas! I wouldn't change a thing. One suggestion for the shallow storage on the driver's side above the new cabinets is to find or buy a shallow multi-section shadowbox. You could replace the glass with a plexiglass panel so that you can still easily see what is inside. I can't wait to see it all come together!

      the size 12V fridge I would need would be bigger than my cooler if it was going to fit everything I need. this way, I have a tiny 9 qt. 12V fridge under the bed, just big enough to keep my ice supply. this has been working for me, even in my minivan build I had!!

    Love all the space you will have as well as storage. The idea of the bed in the space utilizing the front passenger area is really fantastic. Have you ever thought about having a bed that folds in half that converts to a seating area? I don’t know if you’ve ever seen or heard of Lady Bug Out, but she has a bed she built herself that is her bed at night and it converts to a very nice seating lounging area during the day. Her mattrace is a cushion that folds into the conversion so it serves two purposes. Pretty cool. Love your plan and all the open space you’ll have.

    Hi Lulu, everything’s looking good got some good ideas going on. I have a suggestion the little cabinets that you’re putting on your countertop if it were me instead of having them open down work, have them open upward

    • @LulusWay64
      @LulusWay64  ปีที่แล้ว

    Brilliant layout with the bed forward! It will make the van so spacious.
    A big thick square floor pillow could be used against the cabinet when reading in bed, or on the floor when eating and using your cooler as a table on a rainy day.
    The ceiling will be heavenly.

    Hey Lulu. Just a thought (I'm gettin' so involved in this build😊): won't the Berkey tap end up a bit low if you sink it into the end cubby? How about extending the work surface to the end of the van and then cut your circle, but not a complete circle, out if this. Leave a gap for the tap at the front, the Berkey will be sitting where it is at the moment, and the "almost" cutout circle will hold it in place.

    I think I would custom fit the top sheet and spread at the foot also to make it easier to "make" the bed in the mornings and keep it neat and out of the way all day. Then use pretty storage boxes underneath. One lady used poster board of selected colors inside the front of plastic drawers to fill out her color scheme.
