  • Beautiful views as we hiked(an easy hike) up to Cape Disappointment Lighthouse. Located on Washington’s southern Coast, this Lighthouse was built in 1865! It is maned by the coast guard as a weather station now. It’s at the mouth of the Columbia River and serves a visual for what was called the graveyard of the pacific.
On our way up to the lighthouse we passed Deadman’s cove. It was so named because before the Jetties were built many many shipping vessels were over taken by the waves and the current. How the coast line was shaped, it was a cove that sadly, the sailors that didn’t make it would wash up on it. This is how it got its name. Now with the Jetties being built and the Bar pilots assisting the ships, there are far less causality on this treacherous stretch of the coast line on the Pacific Ocean.
Count how many times I say Beautiful…I bet it’s close to 100!
    Hope you enjoy!
