Thanks for the interest in the lighthouses. It is my understanding that both of the lighthouses are still operating. When walking on the beach in the early evening, I could see the rotating beacon light in the north head lighthouse. It is great that there are two lighthouses to visit at the Cape Disappointment park.
I wasn't sure. When I camped at Cape Disappointment, I had a reservation. So I emailed the park and checked. They responded that all campsites in the park are reservable. So reservations are recommended. When they have open campsites that have not been reserved, they are available at the park.
I camped there mid September in loop B too. You had the primo spot! Great place to camp.
Thanks for the comment. Yes, the park is a great place to camp.
Very interesting video! Never camped there, but crossed the Columbia Bar in the mid-60s in a US Navy ship.:)
Thanks for the nice comment. I have never crossed the Columbia Bar, but would love to take a boat ride out of the Columbia into the Pacific.
Looks beautiful. Are either of the lighthouses still in operation? I love seeing the Fresnel lenses.

Is reservation a must or are there spots that's first come first serve?
