Superb video and I am just about to start part 2. Marc was a fantastic guest and a pleasure to listen to. Please John, reprint your Patek in America book. Give the newer generations the opportunity to grow their knowledge base as they begin their journey into Patek Philippe. Look forward to the Fred Savage discussion and certainly an interesting topic However whilst it’s easy to encase a coin or a baseball card to do that to a vintage watch just defeats for me the magical logic of buying it to wear and enjoy it.
Really liked this episode! The internet has definitely allowed collectors like us to get better faster, but not all the info is online. Even today as a relatively younger member (mid-30s) of the NAWCC, I still see the senior guys keeping their cards close to their chest when it comes down to unique references, production runs, etc., and this stovepiped information only comes to light when they pass away and their collections come up for auction. Nobody wants to miss a deal I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Is there an index for the Patek Philippe magazine of the articles as well as of the individual watches? This would be a nice reference to educational material otherwise overlooked.
I’ve been a Patek magazine collector since 1998. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have Consumer Reports type indices. The magazine is truly a magazine. 80% lifestyle/artistry content and just a sprinkle of Patek watches. Save a few special few publications.
@@johnreardon3158 I agree! Looking forward to it. I find myself drawn to some of the oddball Pateks from the '70s, but at this point it's just idle speculation.
Yes, a republishing of your book would be amazing. Great video, best entertainment on TH-cam. Looking forward to part two.
I bloody love this pod
Thank you for listening!!
My God this was amazing. Please do them more often ❤

Very informative and entertaining.
Amazing as always
Collected every Patek Magazine since becoming an owner in 1998. Ready them cover to cover, but haven’t gone back to any. Maybe I need to…

Great idea! As far as I know, it does not exist.

You should call Joe Demesy in Dallas and do a podcast with him and Bob Wingate.
Any chance of a second publishing of your book "Patek Philippe in America"?
Maybe someday! I am announcing a charity giveaway on my personal IG tomorrow to grab copy of the first edition.
Are there any eras of Patek that you would steer clear of as a collector?
In my personal opinion, there are references I would avoid but not eras. THAT would make a great video.
