Most garages change the turbo as the actuator comes new on the new turbo. Test it like I did and you'll know if it's the actuator. Good luck and keep me posted 👍
Hello, in my car I get error P003A about pressure in the turbo. EGR was cleaned and solenoid valve was changed. I think it is a problem with the variable geometry that is dirty with carbon. thanks for your video. a cordial greeting
@@AmyCrampton Hi. No, this can be removed with turbo in place. Make sure the car is cold before you attempt to remove as it can get hot near the turbo. It's quite fiddly to remove. Locate the mounting bolts and you'll need some sockets and extensions. The actuator rod can be difficult to remove from the turbo valve so you may have to unscrew the whole actuator from the rod. (Make note how much you unscrew as you'll need to set it the same with new one) Test it first before you replace it. Use a vaccum hand pump like I did in the video and see if the vaccum holds the rod or not. If it holds replacing it won't fix your problem.
@@LewieB sorry - another question 🙈 does the bottom intercooler pipe have to come off to gain access and do you access the small fixing bolts from underneath?
Have you got any steps on how to remove the actuator? I’ve got a 58 plate AWD Kuga that’s having the same issues, but due to the transfer box being under the turbo, it’s hard to access and see how the actuator is removed

@@AmyCrampton access all from underneath at the rear of the engine. Do not need to remove anything apart from the undertray.
